Stupid Republican idea of the day

Boehner calls for Moratorium on Federal Regulation:

Apparently, Boehner’s definition of “the American people” includes sloppy oil companies, Wall street bankers out to steal my last dime, and pharma and insurance companies who view human suffering as nothing more than an easy way to make a buck, not that there’s anything wrong with making a buck.

If it makes you feel any better, it’s not specifically your last dime they’re after. They’ll be just as happy with somebody else’s last dime.

They are surprised and outraged to learn that anyone still has a dime.

It somehow seems right that Vitter should be a birther since the prostitutes he frequented said he liked to wear diapers.

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2010/07/16/AR2010071606245.html?hpid=topnews The repubs want to run on a platform of nothing. Some of them sense fighting the financial regulation law, the health care legislation and claiming Bp should be apologized to is a tough sell. So they want to have no platform at all. It seems about right unless voting in a bloc against every democratic move could be seen as a platform.

Palin tweets asking Muslims to ‘refudiate’ mosque, then tries to correct phrasing a time or two, then clarifies by stating English is a living language and Shakespeare coined new words, too.
Sarah (the ‘gernalism’ major)for Presidon’t!

Geez, she’s treading on thin ice. Has this useless twat ever even heard of Salman Rushdie?

Her handlers have. Am I the only one that noticed that Salman Rushdie got a lot more visible in the public consciousness after he went into hiding?

Well, of course she has, her husband is a fisherman!

I believe the Laws of the Internet require me to reply: ‘refudiate’ is a perfectly cromulent word.

I note that she keeps the heart-stabbing theme going throughout. Because ya can’t beat a good heart-stabbing reference.

As she noted when resigning the governor’s chair:

To quit, or not to quit, that is the question
Whether 'tis maverickier in mind to suffer
The slings and arrows of the lamestream media
Or to float down the stream like a dead fish
As so by leaving end them. To quit, to bail…

Farting is such sweet sorrow…

I normally find Twitter to be one of the most irritating things on the planet, but some of the responses at #shakespalin are damned hilarious.

Ha! “Bard of Wasila”!

Pete Sessions, come on down!

Whattya mean STUPID??? Embracing Bush is the best thing the GOP can do for America!

Would you mind giving a summery?

I don’t want to give Huffington any views, since she reprints crap from the Discovery Institute.

How can you dislike Huffington! At least half the articles on the front page are by celebrities! CELEBRITIES!

Somebody asked Pete Sessions how Republicans would cut the deficit, and his response was a bunch of generic banalities and circular answers like, “we’ll balance the budget” and “eliminate waste”. Nothing spectacular, but worth a chuckle.

Plum Line: GOP promises return to Bush agenda?

NRCC denies Sessions said GOP wants to go back to Bush agenda

How can we go back to the exact same agenda as that found in a new report? At what point in time were we implementing this agenda?
Trying to believe the NRCC spokesman seems to result in a bit of a temporal disconnect.
