Stupid Republican idea of the day

I usually like generous curves…

FactChecking CPAC. Lot of the candidates are playing fast and loose with the truth. Granted, whether doing that in this venue is a stupid idea is debatable – but they’re saying it on-camera, giving the Dems material to use against the eventual nominee.

See, this why the GOP is fighting Common Core, because math is hard.

As a teacher in Republican Texas, I now understand why the parents complain so much about their kids’ grades.

Scott Walker - on going over to the looney of what passes for the former republican party.
pander, pander, pander, pander, pander, pander.

Changed his mind??? What? That’s a LIBERAL thing!

No, Fox, Drudge, Breitbart, and Daily Caller. Obama did not threaten to shoot down Israeli planes. Sorry to disappoint.

To be fair, he was running against John Ashcroft.

He totally should, though. Not out of any anti-Israel animus, mind you. Just to keep the international community on their toes. People respect ya more when they don’t know but are already wary of what the fuck you’re gonna do next. Kim Jung Il knew this.

Wait, that’s not something they made up on The West Wing ?!

I’m not sure he’s a Republican, but I wouldn’t be surprised.

Orange County Attorney files papers with the California Attorney General’s Office (which, to me, should have been the Secretary of State’s office, but whatever) to begin the initiative process for “The Sodomite Suppression Act”.

That was exactly my thought process when voting in that election:

“Let’s see, Dead Guy or Ashcroft? Dead Guy, for sure.”

Admit it, we’d be better off now if we’d all elected dead Democrats instead of the current crop of Republicans.

[Did you see the part where it calls for the mandatory death of all offenders?

Yes, I saw that in Leviticus. The only new thing here is the “bullets to the head” part. I’m pretty sure that wasn’t in Leviticus.

How dare they use a method not mentioned in the Bible.

62 Bible Verses About Guns

I never watched The West Wing. Did they reference the real election, or did they have a fictionalized story line that went the same way?

Anyway, I also voted for the dead guy. Carnahan was the governor of Missouri during the campaign. When he died, Lt. Gov. Roger Wilson (a Democrat) succeeded him. This gave Wilson the power to appoint Senators to replace those who have died. Wilson announced that if Carnahan won, he’d appoint Carnahan’s widow Jean Carnahan to his seat. So, while it’s fun to say that I voted for the dead guy, I effectively voted for his widow.

Jean Carnahan went on to lose to Jim Talent (R) in November 2002 special election.

I’m honestly surprised that he didn’t include a clause to the effect that “the California Secretary of State, and all other election-certifying authorities, shall be directed to disqualify all votes cast in opposition to this measure.”

Fuckin’ A. Obama lived and worked [del]in the hood[/del] [del]on the South Side[/del] in Chicago, dammit, and understands the value of respect. Nobody fuck with us after that.

The latter - in the show the dead guy racing was in Orange County, California IIRC.

Oh right was that when they brought in Joshua Malina?

At least it’s only an individual attorney, rather than an attorney for the county. <shudder>

When I first read this, I hoped that it was a hoax or a story from the Onion, because I found it all too plausible. And there it is. It’s not Poe, it’s real.
