Superman and Lois Season 3

Ugh. Totally, totally didn’t like this decision. EVERY wacko in the world is now driving to Smallville to ask for Superman’s help. And now that he’s a public figure, I’m expecting a few thousand fake paternity suits against Clark.

This was not the way to go.

And Superman shouldn’t have to worry about money! There’s SO Many opportunities for him to make it. Treasure recovery. Make some diamonds. Building destruction. Package delivery.

I’m glad few finally got to see this universe’s version of Jimmy Olsen. In his brief appearance, he showed more personality than the milquetoast we got for five seasons in Supergirl. In fact, he showed so much personality that, after Clark’s denial that he was Superman, I thought for a moment that he would do a heel turn and dedicate his life to exposing Clark’s secret identity.

It was weird to see a Jimmy who is taller than Superman.

I disagree. You either work to keep the secret perfectly or you go public - half-assing the secret just makes you look awful when it comes out, and forces you to gaslight people you care about.

Clark apparently kept the secret perfectly for most of his life, and Lois did the same once she was in on it. But over the last three years, the family has become slapdash about it, neglecting to come up with cover stories in advance for easily-anticipated situations, etc. Now Lex knows, and he’s going to release the information when and how it will cause the most damage. Cutting the Gordian knot with a press conference in front of a friendly crowd is the best choice. It will create new problems - but will deprive Lex of a weapon.

Or…you know… 200-mile-away frontal lobotomy via heat vision… Just sayin’…

Heh.

P.S. I did think it was hilarious that Clark called a family meeting to decide whether or not to reveal their secret - after he had revealed himself to a diner full of people (including one person who clearly hadn’t thought through his plan)

Candice’s dad should’ve thrown the gun at Clark.

We need a “like” button around here.

I can’t tell you how happy I am that they are addressing the realities of the public lookey-loo’s in Smallville.
I don’t understand why they are taking over the Irons’s armor. Are they going to make that Braniac’s origin or something… in the last two shows… :frowning:
I really, really like how they are writing Jonathan and Jordan in these episodes. Making them feel more like brothers.

I can’t help think that as big a story as the superboys are, the press would really dig into the story of Lois’s alternate universe daughter whose mom was murdered by alternate Superman

P.S. It was nice to see Glorious Godfrey show up.

Thanks!

Luthor’s suit (not the armor, what he wore for the interview) was green. I thought it might be made of you know what, but it was just to psych out Lois and Clark.

Yeah, the Jordan/Jonathan relationship is portrayed really well.

On a different subject, it’s interesting that Lex can face down Superman and Jordan without breaking a sweat, but had a bit of a panic attack before the debate with Lois

Maybe he’s more worried about potentially being made to look bad than by potential physical harm.

Well, that was interesting. I think they’re moving very, very fast, but I do like the callback to previous episodes.

I really liked the boys fighting their father scene. It was very sweet.

I don’t know what they’re going to do for the last episode. There’s so many storylines open!

Yes. That was great. It was also nice to see Clark get under Lex’s skin a bit.

Curly fries should be on both the kids and adult menu.

OK. Two views:
View A - This was a very beautiful episode. Tied up pretty much everything they’ve ever done, albeit quickly. Some great storytelling, and some really great - very very sappy and preachy - acting and stories. Loved seeing the boys have kids, hated the grown-up actors that played them. It was a good series finale.

View B - You’re telling me, that with over 30 years of time, and hugely advanced alien technology, that you can’t invent a cloned Kryptonian heart, or an artificial heart, or at LEAST better heart meds that will keep him infinitely alive? Balderdash!

I’m sorry to see this show go.
