Survivor 10/30

I think that Osten went through the whole screening process and they probably evaluated him for what he is - a really big, imposing speciment who is not at all cut out for Survivor.
They then put him right in it, knowing that at some point he would provide the viewers with some great moments, and he certainly did.
They don’t base the choices on who is suited to the challenge, they look for a group that will struggle, bicker, argue, form alliances and surprise us at the last minute.
Osten, though, was spectacularly inept. I seem to remember him personally wrecking a few of his tribes challenges personally - he sank tier own boat in the boat sinking challenge, he couldn’t swim in the diving to get the keys challenge…I’m sure there will be more.
I’m going to kind of miss him. He made me feel superior to muscle bound dummies

“I wonder if his large muscle mass was working against him what with the diminished, protein-deficient diet.”

I saw a muscle trainer on the tube once he said that the guys are weak to the core because they don’t eat right in order to get those big pretty muscles.

amen!

Let me state for the record that I have nothing against fake tits! My comment about T was simply a factual statement-- she’s got a great set.

As for Heidi, I’d argue that there was nothing wrong with the tits, it was the rest of her that was the problem.

Wasn’t Shawn buddies with Burton? The Drakes repeatedly mentioned that they thought Burton would return. Faced with the choice of booting Shawn or Jon, the Drake alliance wanted to get rid of guy who is more of a buddy with Burton, so they ousted Shawn. At least, that’s my theory.

It made sense to vote off Shawn and I’m glad to see the Drakes figured out the smart move. Shawn represents a much higher threat in individual challenges than Jon. Shawn had an early alliance with Burton and Michelle, either or both of whom might be re-entering the show. And unlike Jon, the Morgans would have had no qualms about recruiting Shawn.

We now have two inner circles of three: Rupert, Crista, Sandra, and Andrew, Ryan, Tijuana. Each has a fourth member on the outside: Darrah and Jon. And next week we’ll be getting two wild cards. For the first time, we’ll be looking at a merger without any group having a safe majority. All kinds of possibilities exist. Should be fun to watch.

Ah, but see, you’re assuming that the outcasts will be returned to their original tribe. I just have a feeling that they will be sent to the opposing tribe, just to shake 'em up even more! Think about it: there’s Drake, sure that they’ll at least get big strong Burton back so they probably won’t have to go to another tribal council right off the bat, and in strides Sour Puss Lill. If Burton (and I’m just assuming these are the returnees, here) strides into the weakened Morgan tribe, I have a feeling they’ll be so relieved to have gotten rid of Osten Powerless to to not see Lill that they will proceed to kick some Drake ass in the next council. And they’re editing it to allow us to see an ugly side of big cuddly Rupert, so he may well be in serious danger tomorrow night.

If you’ve not watched Osten’s interview tape on the Survivor website, it’s worth a look, if only for the pleasure of seeing The World’s Biggest Wimp (TWBW) say that “mentally, they won’t be able to deal with me”, and discuss TWBW’s “intestinal fortitude”, and mention (after removing TWBW’s shirt) that “physically, it’s just not an issue” (this, obviously, was before Crista kicked TWBW’s butt in the pole holding contest), and that TWBW would win because “it’s all about mental stability”. Hee hee hee.
