Survivor 12-11; Winding down

Shayna, what did Burton have to say about his moronic final remarks? How did he justify (or try to, anyway) his comment about Lill breaking their alliance when he’d just done the very same thing?

At TWoP they mentioned some bullplop about him finding out about the all-girl alliance, and he voted for Lill for revenge.

Unless they went crazy with the editing I don’t buy it. Both Jon and Burton looked damn sure of themselves at Tribal Council.

On the Early Show Phyllis from Pensylvania called in and asked what was up with the exit speech.

Burton said that the whole exchange between Lil, Sandra and Darrah happened before he and Jon got on the boat to enjoy the reward.

Darrah tiped Burton and Jon off regarding Lil’s flip flop, so in his mind Lil had already betrayed his alliance.

Jon and Burton had already decided that Darrah was next to go, but with Lil forming an all girl alliance, she was a loose cannon and was the next to go.

He felt that he had not betrayed thier alliance, since she had called an end to it.

How so? Sure, Jon’s in the final four. But Darrah, Lill, and Sandra are also in the final four. Why is their presense there any less their accomplishment than Jon’s? Plus all three women have more potential votes in the jury than Jon does. At the moment, Jon is the worst player still in the game.

No freaking kidding about Lil being a dunce. I couldn’t believe she just gave up and started digging anywhere. What a dummy. Fits right in with her not being able to read a map and find water way back in the beginning.

When the three girls were back at camp alone, it was so incredibly painful to watch them slooooowly come to realize, “Hey, there’s three of us and only two of them! We can take them down!”
And what was Lil so afraid of? She made some comment about if they voted Jon out first (if Burton got the IC), that he’d come after her and be angry. So what? It’s a frigging game!
Darrah and Sandra shouldn’t have let Lil be alone with either of the guys, at all. Lil is such a pansy-ass, one of them could have changed her mind easily.

And yes, I missed The Early Show. How did Burton justify his betrayal of Lil, but his nasty comments about her betraying him?

Wait…why would Darrah tip the men off and then vote out Burton? If she’d tipped the men off, you’d think that would mean she’s sticking with that alliance, and therefore would have voted Lil out with them. But she voted Burton out.

And the guys were suspecting that the women had an alliance, but talking about “catching one of them in a lie”, as if they weren’t sure. After they returned from the reward trip.

I think Burton (or Anus-Lips, as he’s called over on TWoP) is just full of it.

Though not mentioned in the Early Show recap, when asked about taking Jon to the reward, Burton claims that just as he and Jon were about to board the boat to their feast, Darrah approached him and told him that Lill had approached her about forming an all girl alliance, but at that point it was too late to reconsider his choice of castaway to take along on the reward. Therefore, because he believed (or so he claims – I don’t buy it) Lil had broken their alliance at that point, he didn’t feel as though he broke it when he voted for her.

Backpedal and contradict yourself much, Burton? Sheesh! Either Darrah told you after the challenge, but right before you left for your feast, or you knew before the challenge, which you later claim. So which is it, liar?

Have I said how much I really, really hate that man?

Maybe she didn’t tip him off, and was just talking about the weather. Remember, the contestants on the show can’t see Darrah’s subtitles like we can.

I should say that I can understand Darrah perfectly and find her accent charming, lest I offend.

Well, by doing this, it deflects the “guilt” of the alliance to Lil and not herself. She saves face if she makes it to the jury versus Lil. Hmm, maybe she’s not as dumb as she acts on the show?

Jon has been actively playing the game. He’s come up with strategies and has (as has been demonstrated) carried them out with much success. The women, on the other hand, have not been “actively” playing the game. Their “strategy” has been along the lines of “Okay, we’ll do whatever you guys want us to do.” The most obvious example of this is Lil, who has been Burton and Jon’s puppy. Darrah also went along with what Andrew and Burton asked of her, as well as doing the same with Jon. Sandra rode Rupert’s coattails until he was booted (which she helped along by her vote for Jon). It’s only very late in the game that they started thinking for themselves, as it were, and realized that they were toast if they stayed with Burton and Jon. Jon, on the other hand, has been playing all along.

If sandra is smart. She’ll encourage an alliance between Lill and Jon. The vote will split at 2votes sandra, 2votes Jon, Jon already has a previous vote (Sandra made it) She does not. Jon will be gone. Lill will look like a traiterous bitxh to Darrah, and there is no way lill is going to win the endurance. Darrah will take sandra to F2, and then its up to the councel.

How will ir actually go? Jon is gone. Final 3 is the girls. Then I If it plays out like I said earlier or not, it will still be darrah and sandra final 2. With Darrah winning. I Hope Sandra wins though.

I just want to point out that tie-breakers have not been decided based on previous votes for a few seasons now. The last tie they had was during the season where Vecepia won, and it was between Neleh and Kathy (I think). In any case, rather than using previous votes, Jeff told them that they’d have x number of minutes to try to hash something out amongst themselves, and if they couldn’t, they’d throw it up to chance and all of the contestants would be at risk, not just the two caught in the tie.

Everyone refused to budge from their votes, so they tossed out the results of the vote and made all four remaining contestants pull a rock from a bag. The person who pulled the purple rock was booted, and it wound up being Paschal.

Many people complained about how unfair this was, but it’s a typical example of Mark Burnett mixing things up so you can’t get too comfortable in your strategy. AFAIK, there hasn’t been a tie that’s needed to be broken since then.

It’s been a couple of years since they used previous votes as a tiebreaker. For all we know (and all the contestants know), they could pick pretty rocks out of a bag to break a tie vote.

If the three girls stick together and get rid of Jon next (depending on who wins the next IC, of course), I think both Darrah and Sandra would be wise to take Lil to the Final 2 with them.
I hope Darrah can pull off another Immunity Win and they can get rid of Jon. I don’t want him any closer to the prize money.

Lil won’t stand a chance in the Final IC, if it’s an endurance challenge, as it has been in previous years. Usually they have to stand in the hot sun with their hand on the original Immunity Idol for hours.
Last year’s was different, though. They had to stand in that bamboo framework with the gold coins, all bent over strange. I think it lasted less than 30 minutes, right?

I think either Sandra or Darrah will win it, and should take Lil with them to the Final 2, and would easily win the $1 Million over Lil.
I guess a lot depends on exactly what that final IC is, though.

A Final 2 between Sandra and Darrah, I don’t know. It would probably be a 3-4 vote, either way. I’d prefer Darrah win, but I’d be okay with Sandra winning.

A Final 2 between Sandra and Lil, definitely I’d want Sandra.

A Final 2 between Darrah and Lil, definitely Darrah.

I think Lill would be close to getting the 4 sympathy votes from the tribal councel.

I don’t think so, mighty_maxx, seeing as she’s an Outcast, and I don’t think any of the rest of them want to seen an Outcast win.

As long as it’s either Darrah or Sandra, I’m happy. If Jon wins, I really am never watching Survivor again. Not even the next one with Rupert.

Isaid that when Colby gave the Million to Tina. I really stuck to that:rolleyes:

Well i sat down to watch it on tape just now, saw 15 minutes and my tape ran out. D’oh! So i can only comment on 15 minutes.

I don’t think anyone mentioned what I thought was hilarious. Lil, the BoyScout leader, couldn’t figure out which way was north, how to use her compass! WTF???

And I missed her underpants again, darn.

I think Sandra hiding the stuff they needed was pretty low.
