Survivor 12/17

My prediction: Russell cares far more about winning than the money (since he doesn’t need it). When the jury asks the inevitable morality play question “What would you do with the money”, if Russell simply admits that he doesn’t need the money and will donate it all to charity, then he is unstoppable for the win.

This episode wasn’t much of a surprise.

I am intrigued to see what the final 3 looks like. If Brett can hold on, I thin he will be a shoo-in for the winner, but who knows what can happen with the II.

In the beginning of the season, I was hating Russell, but he has certainly grown on me. He has taken the game to the utmost level and used everything he had to make to where he is. I did find it a little disheartening to see that Mick, Jaison and Natalie didn’t use this opportunity to vote him out last night. Maybe Natalie will grow a pair and she, Brett and Mick will vote Russell off next time.

It depends on what god tells her to do. He’s clearly not very good at pulling strings though.

First thing I thought of was “Pride goeth before a fall.” (Proverbs 16: 18)

Oh wow, either I’m in very ticklish mood, or you’re VERY funny. Good one!

Doh, upon review I see that singular1 beat me to it.

I was going to point out that Shambo thought the reward experience “superseded” her expectations.

When did Shambo say “superseded her expectations.” When singular1 said it upthread, I didn’t realize she was snarking on Shambo. LMAO

Let’s go with the latter

During confessional Shambo was explaining how one of her main priorities was to experience Samoan culture. She went to say how the reward challenge superseded her expectations.

(I really thought it was superceded with a “c”. Am I thinking of the British spelling, possibly?)

(Brit here). Nope - it is a misspelling or alternative spelling (according to your viewpoint) on both sides of the pond.

I haven’t watched this season at all. But I’m seeing the commercials describing Russell as the evilest player ever. I’m thinking “worse than Johnny Fairplay and Boston Rob?” What has Russell done to deserve the title?

He’s playing the game well. He’s lied to just about everyone. He’s called pretty much every vote that he’s been at TC for (which is nearly all of them - his tribe didn’t do well in challenges pre-merge). In the confessional videos, he’s fairly insulting to everyone he talks about - they’re all idiots, he’s leading them around by the nose, they’re too stupid to be in this game, etc. In the first or second episode, he decided to secretly screw with his tribe by dumping all their fresh water, and tossing Jaison’s socks in the fire (and I REALLY hope that comes up in the reunion show). And he also told a story to his tribe about how he lived through Katrina, but couldn’t save his dog, which he watched float away in the flood. Some of the women were crying. Then he admitted in a confessional that it’s totally made up - he was nowhere near Katrina, and never had a dog.

He’s not as vile and disgusting as Johnny Fairplay, but is more scheming than Boston Rob. More like Richard Hatch and Boston Rob combined, adding more intelligence and removing the gay part.

I find him more likable than Hatch, though.
