No it was after the votes were made but before they were read. Jeff said any votes for Tony do not count. Played as a normal hidden immunity idol.
The special idol could be played after the votes were read, and then any votes for Tony would not have counted. But it’s dead now, as it was only good through last night.
We’ll see if Tony tries to continue the bluff that the remaining idol’s “special powers” allow it to be used at the Tribal Council of 4. I don’t believe he’s spilled the beans on what’s special about the idol to anyone (maybe Trish(?), but she’s gone).
Tony and Spencer are certainly already booked on the next “All-Stars” edition regardless of what happens in the finale.
At first I was thinking it was a good move for Tony to just let Trish sit on the jury (since it’s a free vote for him) but after thinking it through, it’s not. He’d be better off saving her and having a 2-2 split in at 4. Not to mention how it looks to the jury when you successfully play an Idol for someone else and save them.
I’m not sure why everyone is so down on Kass. She made the first real big move in the game (choosing to spurn Sarah’s alliance and throw in with Tony’s group - that was all her) and can point to other choices she’s made that have basically been running the game (i.e., choosing not to go after Tony and save Tasha, etc.) She’s been very clear that she’s been a free agent working on her own, but she’s successfully kept turning people against each other and her head has never been on the chopping block. (Spencer managing to stick around as well though undermines this). It’s hard to sense if everyone else really hates her, though.
If Spencer gets to the final, he wins, but I like Kass’ chances if he’s not there - assuming everyone doesn’t just vote against her out of spite. Would they really vote for Woo over Kass and Tony just because he’s the most likeable? He didn’t do a damn thing in this game.
A lot of people are certain that this is going to be a two person finale despite the fact that this season is going exactly the way every other season has since they went to the three person final TC. I have no idea why this is. Every season they have a two hour finale - they use the first hour as normal, getting rid of one person. The second hour is the final tribal council which takes a lot longer than a normal one. All the jury members get to ask questions to three people and then vote.
This is exactly the way it always goes, but many have convinced themselves that this is somehow different. Maybe there is a spoiler out there that indicates otherwise, but just going by past precedent, this season is no different than any other three person final TC.
Did anyone else watch Trish’s Ponderosa video? The other members of the jury told Trish that it was pretty clear that Tony voted her out, but Trish hadn’t figured it out. Everyone on the jury seems to hate Tony.
Agreed. I can see how you talk yourself in to the logic of “if I can’t have both both goats I might as well plant a vote on the jury”. But I’m not sure that outweighs the benefit of making a great play with an idol to save an ally. Either way, he may have burned too many bridges now that he’s going to have to sit next to either Spencer or Woo.
The strongest play, in retrospect, was to convince Trish to vote Woo and play his normal idol on Trish. Then both goats are still alive, you made your big move for the jury, and you increased your chance of winning the final challenge. Down-side, you’ve almost certainly lost Woo’s vote (although would he really vote for Kass or Trish instead?).
I think it’s pretty clear that everyone hates Kass. I would be shocked if she gets any votes at all - although she’s pretty much a lock for the final now.
Woo wins easily over Kass. Woo is a tight winner over Tony, I think, but it’s not guaranteed. He certainly comes off as more than a bit dumb, but quiet social players have won before, particularly against more divisive and confrontational players.
a slide puzzle would confuse me too… those things I have never ever liked…along with the rubic cube.
I missed the last half of the show so just came here to see what happened, I thought for sure
Tony would save Trish with one idol and use the other but o well.
Kass reminds me of my sister in law that rubs everyone the wrong way because she has the balls to say things that others wont. I love her. She puts it on the table and it is over and done with no festering.
Seems like Trish had good relationships with a lot of people AND there is no way she can beat Spencer for immunity. I think Tony really wouldn’t want Spencer in the FTC because all his old allies will vote for him, plus all the people Tony has pissed off (everyone else). Woo might be able to beat Spencer at the next immunity challenge.
Her problem will be selling it to the others though. She may very well be able to explain it in a way that makes perfect sense to herself. But she lacks the personal skills to be able to explain it to anyone else without coming off as a full-of-herself nitwit. Simply put, Tony can sell a lie easier than Kass can sell the truth. And that’s taking into account that the jury will know that Tony is lying and Kass is telling the truth. Tony just has a better personality for it. Of course, it won’t all be lies, it will me a mix of truth and lies. Tony kicks Kass’ ass about a dozen different ways at a final TC.
Yeah, for someone who thinks she’s playing all brain/no heart, she’s doing an awful lot of stupid stuff because of emotion and irritation. It MAY be an act, a way for her to guarantee that someone will bring her to Final, but I don’t think her recovery at the end is going to go as well as she imagines it will.
Right. Completely pointless, and not well-taken by the jury.
I’m sure we have all dealt with people who always have to be right, and always have to get in the last word. They are often smart, and often right, but their entire demeanor and need for everyone to know how smart and right they are is off-putting and alienating.
I don’t always watch the Ponderosa videos, but most seasons there is a kind of comraderie among the people voted out. This time people get the stink eye from the others voted off as soon as they walk in the door.
Greed is one thing, but this was short sighted too. He threw away keeping a loyal ally just to be able to keep his “special idol is still in play” bluff. eta: Which he would have kept anyway!
