AFAIK, Terry has one chance left to use the hidden immunity idol. And I agree his best bet seems to be Danielle. That means at the next tribal council he needs to bring it out to protect her if need be. If Terry and Daniel vote for Cirie, and Cirie and Arse vote for Danielle, I assume his idol can break the tie and get rid of Cirie.
Actually though, he should probably get rid of Aras first, as Cirie doesn’t stand a chance at the final immunity challenge anyway. As long as he or Danielle won immunity he’d be safe, as I’d assume neither one of them wants to face Cirie with the jury.
Am I getting senile, or are they doing things differently this time for the finale? I thought that S.O.P. for the last few seasons was Sunday finale once they got to the final 4. I really expected this Sunday to be the 2 hour finale.
Yeah, Terry should kept his trap shut about how he picked whom to go where. Just say something like: It was a tough decision and I knew someone was going to be unhappy.
I managed to fall five episodes behind, but finally got all caught up as of last night. This about sums it up for me regarding Terry:
I wouldn’t even call him arrogant. I can’t believe how rotten everyone else has been to him. You know if I were Terry, I’d have sent Shane to exile just as punishment for the way he used to mock him right to his face.
Terry’s the only reason I’m watching this season. I almost wish he hadn’t won the car though. Damn that car curse.
Aras deserves to lose if for no other reason, then just that stupid hairdo he wears to TC. Somebody slipping him hair gel? I shudder to think what he’s using instead.
As far as the RC goes, I don’t care if it’s a child, a parent, a spouse, a best friend, a dog, or a stock broker. Whoever is the most important person in your life is the most important person in your life, and it’s wrong to place relative importances on other people’s relationships. But otherwise, Terry can do no wrong in my world.
Although Shane’s dependancy on his son is just creepy.
During the commercials for last night’s show, they showed Aras telling Terry “now you’re starting to offend me.” Did they show that during the show? Did I miss it? Aras loses more points for using the “offensive” card.
I thought having Shane and Boston go to the resort for their overnight was actually a nice way to let Shane enjoy his son without the distractions of discomfort, crappy food, etc. It struck me as a really thoughtful thing for Terry to do, especially considering what a jerk everyone there has been to him.
Is this the first time the family member was an actual kid? I can’t remember anyone before who wasn’t an adult.
It may have been edited out, but I was a bit surprised that Shane didn’t seem the least bit thankful to Terry for allowing him to spend the evening with his son.
I agree that Aras’ image took a real beating last night. I love my mom and dad dearly, but I’d miss my spouse a lot more than I’d miss my parent. It wouldn’t have killed him to acknowledge Terry’s dominance instead of shrugging it off.
Terry and Tom the firefighter have a lot in common, as far as age and athletic dominance. However, Terry completely misses the mark on winning friends and influencing people. Whether he is actually condescending or whether he’s just reacting to how the other team has treated him is up in the air. But it’s pretty clear that no one wants to align with him, even though he’s a fantastic competitor.
I have Cirie and Terry in my Pick-4 game at work. At this point, I’d put my money on Cirie. She is nice enough not to alienate people, she works hard enough (unlike Danielle) to not be accused of coasting, and she is a great strategist. I’m putting my money on her. You go, girl.
(The only downside is that I didn’t like her whiny husband. He had to spend, what? 12 hours at their camp and he whined about working too hard?? Had that been ME, I’d have been up all night chopping wood if I thought it would help everyone out. Geesh.)
It’s funny…to those of us who know Aras, we don’t think he’s being portrayed negatively. In fact, until this week, there have been a lot of positive comments on this board about how Aras turned himself around, and how Terry was looking like a major ass.
There was a thread several weeks ago where I commented that, by chance, I got to spend a couple hours with one of the editors of the show, and they said how they all loved Aras and were rooting for him, and he was always kind and helpful to everyone…I mean, come on, the dude is a counselor for kids with Down’s Syndrome and he had a viewing party with his kids a couple weeks back. Also, the editors couldn’t stand Terry, and he was such an “arrogant prick” (the editor’s words, not mine).
Again, my take on the whole “family” thing…all Aras was doing was calling out the fact that Terry said it was an easy decision to make, and telling Terry (who himself said that he has been placed in a godlike role several times) that a family member is a family member, and he was in essence saying “my relationship with my wife is stronger than your relationship with your mom.” While I think it’s fine to say that it’s more important to you that you see your wife than it is to you that Aras see his mom or that Danielle see her mom…don’t say the bond is de facto stronger.
Plus, this is an emotional game. Stressful. Any family visit is likely vital at this point.
You know what would have been an easy decision to make? If Aras, or for that matter anyone else besides Terry had won that reward, the very first thing they would have done, with zero hesitation or decision struggling, would have been to send Terry directly to exile island, denying him time with his wife. On purpose. With malice.
These people don’t just want to beat Terry, they want to be mean to him every chance they get.
when will the Survivor contestants learn: “never discuss a reward unless it is while breaking out food you stole for those who did not get to participate.”
also, was there any mention of the car that Terry won? perhaps off-camera, but nothing was mentioned in tribal council or on screen.
based on previews:
Danielle is talking about teaming up with Terry, so you know it will not happen. If it does, and he wins immunity, he gives her the Hidden Idol and they are secure
Aras and Terry talk on the phone regularly and even met up at the NCAA Final Four games. There was little malice toward Terry.
All I’m saying is that Terry made a poor game move by saying it was an easy decision, although I’m sure the decision was simple. It would have been a simple choice to send Terry to Exile Island, but to turn around and say it was simple to deny him a family visit is a different matter.
This may be an overstatement…they talk on the phone on occasion. I know he and Cirie speak regularly, though, as does Shane (I think they were actually acquaintances prior to the show…a friend of a friend of a friend sort of thing).
I agree with this sentiment. Not to disagree with Lockseer , but I think it’s meant in the context of the game. At the very least, Terry did admit that most of his argument was to get under Aras’ skin. So it wouldn’t be a stretch to say that the Casaya’s are still against Terry and vice versa. And yes, if anyone else had won the reward, I think Terry would once again be on exile island alone.
I saw Shane on the Survivor Live, and he said his closest friend since the show was Terry, and how much he respected him. So it’s not hard for me to see that in-game is different than after-game.
