Survivor April 27 2011 "Mystery Package"

“What’s that thing that Jack Nicholson said to Tom Cruise. You can’t stand the truth! You can’t stand the truth!”

I love that guy.

Well, that’s one way to put an end to the Pagonging…

Thank goodness the Pagonging is over. There has to be some creative editing (or some dumbass survivors) to think the all five are not plotting against Rob.

What’s even better is I think the second time he said “You can’t take the truth!”
I was so excited when he found his pants. Then he decided to parade around holding his pants instead of putting them on.

A little disappointed that they didn’t vote out Andrea, which would’ve been a much smarter move. Go to 5 plus Steve, then vote out Steve. On the other hand, this way Rob gets to avoid the “backstabber” label.

When they have a package or box that they’re not allowed to open, I always wonder what would be the consequences if they did? Just the whole tribe together goes “let’s open it!” Would the producers run in to stop them? Would Jeff give some sort of crazy punishment to the tribe?

Let’s see, we’re on day 30, assuming 3 days an episode, that means 3 episodes left. I’m guessing the next two episodes go as normal, leaving a tribe of 4, and 3-4 people on Redemption. Then a three/four-way challenge at the beginning of the finale, with only one winner. That would put them at five, which is normal for a three-person finale tribal.

I don’t know. Phil and Ashley* know their Rob’s final three. Natalie* and Grant both seem to think they’re in Rob’s final three.
Andrea is really the only odd man out who know she’s on the outside.

Also, this is total speculation just based on the preview:

Rob said something like “One of us has to go to Redemption Island.” I could see him trying to convince Grant to “volunteer” to go on the basis that he can win all the duels and get back in.

One thing I have really missed about the last few episodes. Real Reward Challenges. Where two or three of the survivors go off on a trip. Gives you the pecking order.

WTF, 2 minutes to eat the cake? without plates and with your hands.

Thank you Mr Cameraman for pointing out Philips swimming trunks to him.

I think a really neat twist is to have a reward/immunity challenge. Where the winner gets choose another for the night away. both players get immunity. And the rest of tribe go off to Tribal Council to vote off.

Can you imagine if that had happened when it was Omelette 6 and Zap 5. If an Omelette won Immunity/Reward, (s)he chooses another Omelette, and suddenly Zap has a 5-4 majority for Tribal Council.

Yeah, I don’t believe for a minute that Phil found his shorts without some help from the crew.

Now it gets ugly. This is the time for the girls to “seduce” one of the guys into voting for Rob.

Well, they tried to edit it into something interesting. Tried.

Thank God Shoe Factory is out of its misery. I will enjoy watching some of the stupidest players ever realize just how stupid they are.

And thank goodness the title of the episode “Mystery Package” did not have anything to do with Phillip’s pink undies.

If you excuse me, I need to go wash my mind out.

Shoe Factory?

“Zapatera” means “shoemaker” in Spanish. But that’s not why they picked it for a tribe name. Both Zapatera and Ometepe are islands in Lake Nicaragua.

Okay. There are now 4 people on RI. People are stacking up over there. I wonder what’s going on?

Well you know, it’s just frutile to hide something from the Specialist.

Rob’s HII hasn’t been mentioned for the past several episodes. I think he’s going to plan his own ouster, perhaps letting something slip “accidently”, and use it to save himself & get rid of Grant. Big bold move to show the jury.

Steve: Hey guys, got room for one more?
Matt: <head explodes>

If Matt is going to get eliminated, now’s when it will happen. There are three very strong competitors on RI with him, and they are “reasonably” fresh. They are running out of episodes, so RI is going to go away soon, maybe at the end of next week. Rob said in the previews that “That’s 32 days of planning down the drain.”, which I take to mean that RI is done and someone(s) come back before Rob was ready.

If we have learned anything from Survivor, whatever is said in previews has no correlation to what actually happens on the show…

True dat.

He was probably refering to Amber having planned a birthday party for him last year or something.

I don’t think Rob’s comment means much. Jeff’s done a fair job of creating suspense where there has been none all season long. The editors go out of their way to try and misdirect your guess as to whose going, while Rob’s gang has followed the obvious script to the letter of the plan. The only question is how is Rob going to off Grant and when?
