Overall, I found the way the final 3 played out disappointing…of the three, I most wanted Cerie to win, and of the two, I vastly would have preferred Amanda to win. Parvati…yuck. Can’t stand her. But of course, we learned way back in the first season that the most likable person doesn’t always win, and that’s just part of the game.
Ozzie made his little speech as a nod/joke to Denise’s “they won’t let me be a lunch lady anymore” speech last season. Amanda was blushing with embarassment through the whole thing, saying “Stop it!” and “That’s not true!”, and then said they were still together.
Survivor 74: Mare Tranquilis - Romber vs. Ozzanda.
Yes, that is exactly what I was screaming into the TV set as she was speaking.
Except that it’s not even about voting for the most “deserving” player in the final two. It’s voting for whomever each jury member wants for whatever reason. Sometimes it’s the person who needs the money, and sometimes it’s the person who played the game best, or sometimes it’s whoever wins a coin toss. At any rate, the correct answer was that Amanda thought she had a better chance to win going against Parvati than against Cirie. That’s it. That’s all there is to it.
But Amanda seems to have some need for the other players to think she’s all virtuous and nice, even if she has to lie to make them think that!
Amanda should have done her opening speech along the lines of “I’m here. Again. I’ve gotten all the way to the end of two seasons and sat before the jury. Twice! Last time you could argue it was a fluke. But not twice. I deserve to win because its something no other survivor has ever done. I deserve to win because I’m the best.”
I came here to post how Amanda should have answered Cirie’s question, but I see that 7 or 8 other people have beaten me to it. So instead, I’ll pose this:
What the *hell *was Natalie talking about? (the thing about flirting and the bedroom) She even confused Probst (“Did anybody get that?”)
James, Ozzie, & Erik voted Amanda, everyone else voted Parvati.
I’m wondering if she was allowed to mention how far she got in China at all, since it was being aired while they were filming FvF. Even if she could, it might have backfired, since for all they knew, she had already won $1M all the time they were doing this series.
**squeegee **had a much better approach for Amanda. I also seem to think that she let Parvati take credit for all the power moves without so much as a whimper. I think she should have fought to take that credit.
As for taking Parv over Cerie, she said that Parvati played a much different game that her. Does that sound wrong to anyone else? From this side of the TV Set, it seemed that those two played the same game, and Cerie was the odd-woman out. I think Cerie should’ve tried that play when angling for final two.
Very satisfying finale. I love Burnett for the Final 2 dustup. Good call, although I think he was hoping for a Fan vs a Fave as the final 2. In the end I’ll bet he doesn’t care as long as Crest is paying him money.
Speaking of rules…does CBS have documented anywhere exactly what their rules are for extracting a player for a medical emergency? Do they state what exactly can they do at camp and leave you in, vs what requires yanking the player? That (just for example) you can receive oral antibiotics, but if you need an IV you have to leave the game?
Thanks, everyone! Glad to hear they are having fun…maybe another Survivor wedding coming up!
I agree with everyone that Amanda blew it with Cerie’s question. It’s NEVER about who else deserves to win, it’s about what can I do to win it myself. The jury is going to respect an answer like that far more.
And, what is with that Natalie? Is she the weirdest thing or what?
