I think everyone knows exactly what happened. If nothing else I think everyone recognizes each others’ handwriting.
??? Why would they? It’s not like they’ve been writing each notes about “Don’t forget to pick up a quart of milk.”
Exactly, I saw the promo last night. I even made sure I wasn’t watching an old program on the DVR.
Amen! Buh-bye, Tyson!
I wonder what made the Heroes switch to voting James out. He was really annoying, but Colby is acting like the ultimate loser, and that’s not someone you want on your team.
This is definitely turning out to be one of the best seasons.
Does it seem to anyone else like these guys aren’t really suffering much? I mean, there have been some injuries, and we had the Rob “fainting” episode (which I wonder how real that was), but they generally seem well fed and everything.
I’ve noticed that, too. One thing I have always wondered and which Sandra reinforced the other night was to what extent thay have access to more than a hole in the ground (or some designated “latrine area”) to take care of their bodily wastes. Sandra said something about Russell needing to get it the water and wash his ass.
I can just be glad we don’t have Smell-o-vision since that place ought to reek by now.
I imagine Tyson was assuming Russell had, and would play, the immunity idol.
In that situation, voting for Parvatie helps Tyson avoid being in a 3-3 tie and not knowing how the tie would be resolved by producers. Sure it might be a straight re-vote, or they might have a making fire contest or some other random tiebreaker. Who knows? Secretly switching his vote to Parvatie might have avoided that uncertainty. It would have been very hard for him to predict that Russell would give up his idol to Parvatie.

I see from Phungi’s link that Tyson’s thinking was exactly as I had surmised.
I’m no Tyson fan but to those who are second-guessing him, come on. Which of you really would have predicted that Russell would give up his idol?
It doesn’t matter. Rob’s plan was foolproof. Everything would go exactly to plan as long as everyone voted the way they were supposed to. Tyson blew it and once again he goes home early when he should have cruised all the way to the end.
We had a thread in GQ a few weeks ago where someone was asking what the phrase “too clever by half” meant. Too bad we couldn’t have had that person just watch this Tyson in this episode.
Well, no it wasn’t. Unless you assume that a tie would be resolved by a re-vote. In the history of this show, have the producers ever given us a reason to presume anything?
Nothing is ever foolproof because fools are too damn ingenious! Tyson being a prime example.
A tie is always first attempted to be resolved by a revote.
Yes, and tribes always merge.
Except when they don’t.
‘The problem with fool-proof plans is that they invariably underestimate the ingenuity of complete fools.’
Revoting to resolve a tie is one of those ironclad Survivor rules that has always been there. It’s what happens after the revote that is subject to whims of Probst.
 <- This is my disappointment after Pascal and the Purple Rock of Doom fiasco.
Was that the one where the doctor was voting alphabetically?
That’s the one where there were five people left and there was a tie between two Survivors. After a revote it was still tied. So Probst pulled out a bag with four black rocks and one purple rock. Everyone pulled a rock (even people who received no votes) and the one with the purple rock was sent home.
Pascal picked the purple rock and was voted out, even though no one had voted for him at that tribal council.
And ever since, going for a tie vote has been known as “Pascal’s Wager.”
Bad move by Tyson, but at least he knows it was his fault. Now we lose yet another good snarky confessional generator. If Courtney goes soon, all we’ll have are the boring and unfunny confessionals.
I think the Colby staying thing might be a bad move if there’s a merge. Not only do the villains know he’s on the outs, his energy level is low. If the saving of his ass this week doesn’t pull him out of his funk, nothing will.
