Survivor March 11 2010

You changed your mind awfully quickly.

blechh, I don’t really care about new footage per se. I wanna see Tribal Councils, new drama leading up to TC, how James and Heroes deal with bum knee in the next challenge (hopefully not eat crap items one). I think the extra footage CBS puts out every week after Survivor airs gives revelatory and unseen viewpoints. Like how they get Tyson and Courtney to do some gawddang hilarious confessionals. They really need to have these personalities in centre stage because they’re more the reason why I want to watch this season.

Well I hope, I don’t need to spoiler the “on the next episode” clip. If you don’t wanna be “spoiled” don’t read the below or watch the clip.

What do you guys think about Boston Rob being so open with his disdain for Russell. I think it’s bad move, if you tell the person that they’re next up, you give them a heads up on your move. This will give Russell more than enough time to scramble and get something to counter Rob’s move. What he should’ve done was to keep his plans within his group, if something leaked out, he’ll know someone in his alliance is a betrayer. he’d get more info if he played it more secretive, rather than having himself to blame if things don’t go his way. I really wonder how much info the others have on Russell. Did they at least get a breakdown of his previous season, watch some clips of it or something? Or are they totally Russell virgins. Boston Rob confronting Russell has got to be a bonehead move, we know Russell doesn’t like to be told what to do, but strategically, you give him time to act, and you can only blame yourself if things aren’t the way you planned it to go. I don’t think Rob knows the power of HII either, flushing it out isn’t a bad idea, but having to sacrifice one of your alliance members to flush it out seems dumb. It might as well be Rob’s name on the flush out vote too. Rob is totally underestimating HII’s power.

Doesn’t the teaser of Rob gunning for Russel pretty much guarantee that it won’t be what happena?

so you’re saying they become best friends and allies with that clip? lol. The way the Villains describe Russell as a troll, i think the animosity is real and not fabricated.

Hmmm…I think you might be right, but I’m not sure. I think it’s just a Wednesday regular episode, actually.

I wish I could find air-dates for previous years.

No, I didn’t. I said there have been three puzzle challenges that started with a physical challenge that the Heroes dominated, only to lose their huge lead (and the challenge) on the puzzle.

  1. Week 1, paddling the canoe to a huge lead then utterly failing the little puzzle. (Boston Rob and Sandra did the puzzle-solving with Randy watching, contributing nothing.)

  2. Running out to get the giant puzzle pieces, bringing them back with a huge lead then failing to assemble the huge staircase under JT’s direction. James exploded at Steph, sealing her (and eventually Tom’s) fate. (Boston Rob took firm control, directing everyone how to put it together.)

  3. This past one where they gathered puzzle pieces while blindfolded and then assembled them into a giant box. Again, huge lead to start the puzzle, utter failure to even finish it. Looked to me like they fucked this one up so badly they needed to start over from scratch when the villains won. (Boston Rob took control as leader about halfway through the puzzle assembly.)

Somebody then countered that the rolling ball thingy didn’t involve a huge lead for the Heroes at the beginning, to which I explained that I didn’t consider it a puzzle because there were no pieces to put together. Perfectly consistent, no mind changing in any way. Do try to keep up.

On a side note, the Heroes should be praying that Rob gets voted off. He’s clearly the reason the Heroes can’t win with a puzzle.

Boxed spoiler for those who didn’t watch last season’s finale. Nothing earth-shaking in here though. I really don’t believe Russell will be sticking around until the end. My reason for this is found in last season’s live finale. While filming this season, he was still convinced he was going home to a million dollar win for last season, and he has a shot at 2 million. He even seems a bit giddy about it at times. Then, as soon as he lost the final vote to Natalie, he immediately became completely pissy, and pouted through the whole show. He had to know at that point he was 0-for-2.
Seems to me Rob will be smart enough to engineer a split vote to keep Russell from being able to use his single vote to oust Rob.

They can’t win basketball challenges either. Slip’N slide basketball, or rugby basketball.

I really do hope James gets the next boot with the Heroes after failing horribly at their immunity challenge because he literally couldn’t carry his own weight. Heroes are so inept right now, I want to start cheering for them to do better, but alas that’ll mean someone from the Villains will go and I like them for commentary than the boring (candice), old school (colby), emotional (amanda), retarded (James) entitled (Rupert), wannabe strategist (JT).

Run down the list of Rob Supporters and we have.

Tyson (most likely)
Courtney (most likely)
Coach (undecided atm with the boner he got with HII revelation)
Jeri (undecided, doesn’t like to be told what to do)
Sandra (most likely, from the banter they have together)
Danielle (unknown)
Russell (hates Rob, against Rob)
Parvati (aligned with Russel, Rob doesn’t know how she’ll vote)

The unanimous Randy vote made things unknown for alliances. We just don’t know where people’s trust lie. We also don’t get a lot of face time in regards to alliance related talk. Everyone is speaking to anyone, there are no real outward personality clashes, until we get the Boston Rob vs Russell feud going on until the next new episode.

I don’t know. He seems just egotistical enough to be pissed at winning only one million dollars(in his mind at least) when he is convinced he is the ultimate survivor.

Also he could have made it to the end with Parvati and realized on the live finale that the Heroes vs. Villains season wasn’t a guaranteed win.

This is a great point. Most of us assumed right away that his sourpuss demeanor in last season’s finale meant he knew he already lost this season. But as you point out, no matter what, even right now on March 17 he still can’t possibly know that he won Heroes vs Villians because the finale hasn’t happened yet.

That means his sourpuss last finale isn’t the mortal lock for him losing this season we (or at least I) assumed it was.
