Survivor: May 13, 2010

Vecepia in Survivor: Marquesas. Although she had a little help from the Purple Rock of Doom.

I really don’t think he is. Even when it was down to the line (that either he or Tom, for example, were the definite short list for elimination), he sucked in challenges.

When Sandra told Russel “I’m against you,” I was hoping she was purposely goading him into voting for her, so she could get him out by playing the idol. Turned out not to be her plan.

But realistically, the players know that Parv, Sandra and Russel have to take each other to F3. Colby has too many friends on the jury, and Jerri hasn’t been mean enough to make enemies on the jury. Everyone wants to face Russel in the finals because he can’t win for sure; and both Sandra and Parv would rather go up against a previous winner to take that factor out of the final vote.

So my prediction for the finale: Colby eliminated first, then Jerri, unless either of them win immunity. The prize will probably go to Parv because she’s been more of a power player than Sandra.

Unshown votes are always for the person voted out. The producers show as many other votes as possible to heighten the tension.

If Sandra does (and Colby doesn’t) make it to final 3, I think she can count on votes from:

Rupert - Old Friends (90%)
J.T. - Hates Russell, Parvati, won’t respect Jerri (90%)
Courtney - former aligned teammate. (80%)
Candice - Lesser of three evils of any combination of (67%)

Danielle will vote Parv 1st, Sandra would be her alternate if Parv is eliminated
Coach, probably will vote Parv 1st, Sandra would be his alternate if Parv is eliminated
Amanda - Probably parvati

2 more Potential Jury Members

Colby - 50/50 Parv/Sandra no way Russell gets a vote,
Jerri - She couldn’t stand Parv early in the game, but Parv has saved her by giving her HII.
Russell - Votes for Parv, will respect her game, will not consider voting for anyone else
Parv - Russell might get her vote, then Sandra

I think Sandra has 4 votes from the jury in her “bra”.

I’ve watched every season. Sandra won the first season she played. She was pretty invisible that year in that her whole strategy was “As long as it isn’t me, I’ll vote however you want”. That is definitely not bold game play. So yeah I say the invisible people win once in a while.

Susie got 3 of 7 votes in Survivor:Gabon. I watched every episode of that season, just looked up her bio, and I still have no memory of her whatsoever.

I just checked in Wikipedia, and it confirmed something I had suspected. JT has voted in TC 17 times in two seasons. 13 of those 17 times he has voted to send a woman home. Two of the remaining four times, it was a situation where the entire tribe voted against one player, as in this season where they all voted to send James packing, and that looked to be James admitting he couldn’t continue.

I wouldn’t be too sure that JT goes against Russell, especially if Russell puts the “good ole Southern boy” act on JT, which he probably will.

I’m drawing a blank, too. And I STILL don’t remember Danielle from her season. I remember Aris or whatever his name was who won, but Danielle is still a great big blank, even after almost an entire season of her on my screen RIGHT NOW! I just do not remember her from her first season at all. And she was supposedly one of the Final 2/3(?).

I think her plan was to force Russell to play his game in front of the whole group, instead of a select handful at a time. He looked at a loss for what to do or say - it was a pretty solid play.

That is absolutely bold game play. That strategy has not worked for anyone before or since. Sandra was able to pull it off because she’s so damn likeable, the other players don’t have any idea they’re being played.

I never liked Sandra much until last night. She and Parvati just yanking Russell’s chain was so much fun to watch. Kudos to Parvati for winning the immunity challenge, and I LOVED the fact that Russell didn’t get to for the reward.

The only thing I don’t get is why someone didn’t just ask Rupert to cease making so much noise when they were all obviously trying to sleep. What’s the big deal?

QFT.

I really hope both Russell and Parv make it to the Finals, because that means Parv will win.

For those of you still saying Sandra has been doing nothing or continues to do nothing. Are you sure you know who the fuck Sandra is? Are you confusing her with Jerri? Jerri by far has been edited as not talking with anyone in general. It’s like she’s there to vacation, out on a resort away from people.

Have we not seen Sandra actively talk with the Heroes when they merged. She did it incognito and on the down low so as not to send warning signals to the Villains she was aligned with.

I pretty sure she talked to Rupert, then Rupert tried to convince JT otherwise about Russell. How did all that drama start? You got it, Sandra put the seed of doubt in their plans. She did nothing? Hell no.

I pretty sure we seen the same show where after JT got voted out, Sandra continued to get in the ears of the Heroes so that she can switch sides. We seen her talking with Candice, Amanda, Rupert and Colby to a degree, but she knew he was gone before the merge. This is certainly not nothing. She may be low-key about her dealings and doesn’t threaten people if they don’t do things the way she wants it. But that doesn’t mean she ain’t playing a game.

Her game is to use subtlety. Get in the head of people around them. See what they’re gonna do, and act accordingly as not to ruffle feathers. If the Russell alliance is the majority, she’ll tag along so not to piss them off, just like when Candice flipped.

I don’t know what you guys are watching because, it’s like you turn off the TV when Sandra comes on. She is hardly a do nothing player. She’s the LOW-KEY player, everything she does isn’t a grandstand action/reaction like Russell.

What do you mean no one else has won with that strategy?

Tina won it with that strategy, hiding behind Colby.
Vecepia won it with that strategy, hiding behind Boston Rob.
Seeing how solid a strategy it was, Tom tried to hide, but was too strong a natural leader to be a shrinking violet.

I remember Susie from Gabon, vaguely. She was a the token age 40+ish lady, and slightly overweight, I think she was hispanic. On the second tribal switch she flipped to send Marcus home (of the onion alliance, against nasty Corinne et al).

She went against Bob and Sugar in the FTC. she only got to the final three because she won the house of cards Final Four Immunity challenge and then she couldn’t stop bragging about it. Bob was supposed to go home, sugar felt guilty and switched her vote to send Matty home (grandson of some Hollywood actor).

I don’t remember Danielle what so ever. I have seen all the seasons, but I don’t remember ASS- Fiji very well. I remember the earliest ones and the latest ones, just not those in-between.

I don’t remember Candice or Parvati from the cook islands. or Tom from his season.

Tina didn’t use the “as long as its not me” strategy like Sandra. She teamed up with Colby and the bitter jury didn’t want to reward the challenge monster.

As for Vecepia, she played an “under the radar” strategy that had nothing to do with Boston Rob since the two were on the same tribe for only three days.

You don’t remember the winner (Tom) from his season? Are you sure you watched it?

Especially since the last 3 episodes were almost a Freudian father-son tragedy in 3 acts, with Ian and Tom starting the arc as the tightest of allies and ending it at odds, with good son Ian giving up his almost guaranteed Final Two position to someone neither one of them could really stand in order to get back into Papa Tom’s good graces.

Not sure we’re defining Under the Radar the same way. I see it as a player who doesn’t garner much credit or receive much grief for voting people out. You don’t have to be a pawn (I’ll vote for anyone…as long as it’s not me) to be UTR. Or at least at FTC, you have to be able to convince the final jury that you were the puppet master. As those people all did. Including:
Amber also won Allstars by being an UTR player to Boston Rob. So I think we can dispel the theory that no one has ever won by being UTR.

PunditLisa, I think that Russell is so into the game that it’s probably better that he didn’t get to spend time with her. It would have taken him out of game-mode too much and we may have started to see him in a different light. It would be disturbing to find out he is a caring husband, considering the persona he’s effectively created. On the other hand, it’s also possible that she’s as conniving as he is: Russell:“She made a mistake” Wife:“Yep!”

Parv/Sandra/Russell would make the most interesting final tribal, but I have to think Jerri makes it in on her do-nothing approach. (Meaning she won’t garner any votes) I think that Colby is also playing that kind of game, but for some reason Probst, in his blog, thinks that Colby is a shoo-in to win if he makes the final tribal. I’m not sure I see that. He may have been well-regarded when he came on the show, but they have to think he just coasted through the game once Tom got voted out. I would hope that someone asks why he was yelling at his brother though.
