Survivor Redemption Island Feb 23, 2011

That’s absolutely why he did it. Plus Rob set up Phillip with the hand on Kristine’s (?) shoulder to see how Phillip voted. Rob is definitely in control of that tribe.

For the other tribe, Ralph is much smarter than Russell thinks. Besides doing a great rooster, he’s probably going to be Russell’s downfall. He may be the ultimate hero of this series.

This is shaping up to be one of the better seasons IMHO.

WARNING!!

If you don’t want spoilers, DO NOT read the comments section on Jeff’s blog! Some dipshit posted a list of who gets voted out. I got a few names in before I realized what I was reading and stopped. I can’t vouch for the list’s accuracy, but dammit, I don’t want to even maybe know what happens next.

Yeah, I rather doubt that the spoiler list on his comments is legit, but it is there if you folks don’t want to see any potential spoilers.

I guess the spoilers are gone now…I just looked and didn’t see them.

Apparently, in the past the spoilers were traced back to Russell!

Luckily, I don’t know many people’s names yet, so the quick glance at the list I had didn’t register as anything other than random names.

Phillip wavered between saying “federal agent” and “special agent” (it might have even been “secret agent”). I think it’s a total load of bullshit.

If he was a federal agent, but never told anybody, does that make him a Secret Federal Agent?

He worked for 3 years for a defense department agency conducting background checks on people getting seurity clearances for government jobs. Yahoo Search - Web Search

This links to the TMZ front page. Could you link to the story itself? I can’t find it on that site. Thanks!

So funny. That is exactly what I thought! Then when she got the wick, I thought she’d figured it out. But later they showed her sans fire. Seriously, could she be that stupid?

There are a lot of electric lanterns that look like that - I didn’t get a good look though.

Weird. When I click it, it takes me right to the Hantz story.

Anyone else?

It looked electric to me. I doubt the producers would give the castaways something like a kerosene lamp.

Phillip seems like the perfect person to have out of your alliance. No one likes him and he blabs everything if he has the slightest suspicion he’s being handled him well. Rob handled him well by not giving him any actual information, and Phillip seemed to respond well to the secret spy stuff.

I don’t think think Ralph really made a big mistake by attacking Russell. First, Russell get’s weirdly over aggressive at any imagined slight, so it was only a matter of time before he finds someone to go after. Second, he wasn’t even the first one to confront Russell’s trio. And finally, even if Russell pulls it together to vote Ralph out, Ralph can just use the idol to oust Russell.

It flickered like a kerosene lamp, though! I suppose you could be right, though.

I will say that Jeff has said time and time again that you need to know how to make fire when you’re a contestant on Survivor. Just by viewing the attempts at fire-making using flint, I could do a better job than Francesca. You don’t scrape the flint, you strike it.

Or do you knap it? :dubious:

Hah…I had a feeling he might be one of those guys. I’ve encountered a few oddballs from that agency.

Oddball is right. He certainly leads people to believe that he has actively served his country – e.g. in combat – which is completely disingenuous.

From what I am reading, he held a desk job that involved investigating people’s backgrounds so that they could receive or be denied Security Clearance. That is a far cry from serving as an agent in Iraq, which is the impression he is deliberately planting with his castmates.

It depends. I couldn’t quite figure out just what she was doing, but some strikers have a side with a magnesium bar which you DO “knap” to get Mg fragments on the tinder first, to help the spark catch. I kept expecting her to turn it over and start striking the flint after she’d scraped out some Mg.

I wonder what implications that will have if both Philip and the actual Iraq veteran on the other tribe make it to the merge?

Iraq? I don’t think he’s mentioned or even come close to suggesting Iraq. “Federal agent” to me sounds like FBI.

BIG FAT DITTO !

Love the farmer.
