SWTOR Doper Guild

If there is going be one, I’m in - none of my friends are buying this so I have no preferences to server or anything. sniffle

By the lack of hits this thread is getting, I’m guessing setting one up once the game has started - or organising closer to launch date when w know things like server names - is probably a good idea.

I’m in! Pre-ordered/deposited at a local GameStop this morning. Was given a receipt but nothing else. Just applied to Burning Womp Rats with same handle.

Welcome Cyberhwk!

It looks like folks who pre-ordered will be able to get into the game up to 5 days before the official launch. Probably less for folks who are pre-ordering now but still early.

So was I supposed to get something? I had kind of assumed I was getting the game then the servers just went live on 12/20, but they just told me it was a $5 to Reserve, I said OK, handed them $5, they handed me the receipt and told me they’d probably do a Midnight release and I left. :frowning:

By the way guys, everybody joining at release I’m promoting to officer FOR NOW at least. That way I think you guys can approve applicants. I’m really busy this week so if I take a bit to add you, don’t worry, but any of you guys should be able to log onto swtor and go to guilds->my guild->roster and approve incoming members if I’m being too slow.

Hmm, I dont’ know. Did you get a pre-order code on your receipt? I got mine online so I’m not sure how it works with the retail outlets.

“My Schwartz is bigger” is five characters too long.

“Dark Helmets”?

Anyone from Europe interested in setting up an EU based sister guild? I have pre ordered and want to play on a PvP perhaps RP-PvP server.

Instead of “1920s-Style Death Star”, maybe “Art Deco Death Star”? Or “Jack-Booted Stormtroopers”? Although, those are anachronistic to the Old Republic setting. “Jack-Booted Sith”?

So I was assured I didn’t need anything. So I come home and look around the website…

ORLY? So I print it out, take it back to Gamestop today (sit in line for about 20 minutes behind everybody picking up Modern Warfare 3). I get up to the front and show the girl. Manager shows up behind her and says, “Yeah, we don’t have those. If you wanted the pre-order code you should have bought it months ago.”

Screw you dude. There were tons of posts online about Gamestop completely screwing the pooch with regard to the pre-order codes and from what I hear Amazon has them coming out of their ass. I got pissed off and they gave me my $5 deposit back.

I come home, go to Amazon.com, buy it with only $.99 Release Day Shipping, my pre-order code arrives 20 seconds later. QED.

I want to but unfortunately PvP is just not my thing. I learnt that the hard way on WoW (I only got back into the world of MMOs a year ago, my previous experience was EverQuest up to the Luclin expansion), eventually paying for character transfers to PvE servers. The ganking just got to me like you wouldn’t believe.

I’m just not built for PvP.

I figured it was going to be either 1) Gamestop being incompetent or 2) Gamestop being evil.

I saw on SWTOR.com that they sent out a whole bunch of beta tests out for this weekend; did anyone here get one? You would have gotten an email.

Hmm. I pre-ordered from a website called “origin.com” back in July. I have what looks like is a (20 digit) product key. I don’t have anything else labeled as a pre-order code.

Scumbag SWTOR, sends beta signup link, website is down for maintenance.

Mine was on my Origin receipt, but I don’t remember if it was separate from the product key or not. You can go to SWTOR.com to enter your code and see if it works, or re-read your email receipt from Origin if you still have it.

Okay I just checked my own receipt and here are the instructions:

I think the pre-order code is the 20-digit “Digital Rights” number on your receipt, IIRC. That’s the only number I see and somehow I did it, anyway.

All right, thanks!

I’m planing on trying it, and I’m Europe based
I allways play RP light, PVP not so much

I’m leaning to republic

Speaking of Origin, I saw that “pre-ordered digital products are available for download the day of release.” How does that allow for pre-launch access then? Will the download be available a few days before the official launch for folks who have pre-ordered?
