Take a look: a cool site MMP

Yay on KT still being employed. That’s great news. Sounds like an exit strategy would probably be a wise thing… at some point, it’s not worth living under the axe any more (not to mention that the people who don’t get laid off usually have to work twice as hard, since there’s usually just as much work and less people to do it).

Wile E, you are evil. Evil, I tell you. Because I’ll probably end up spending my entire lunch hour browsing through that site, as if I didn’t already have more than enough design blogs to drool over… sigh (I see your link and raise you a MoCo LoCo and a NotCot. HA!)

That’s all I got. It’s wet and rainy, so no lunchtime walk for me today… instead, I’m going to eat some leftover chicken lasagna, surf Teh Internets, and possibly go get another coffee from the caf downstairs. Don’t you all envy my exciting job?

cocks shotgun SILENCE! There will be NO celebrating of the end of semester while I have SO MUCH BLEEPING BLEEP BLEEPITY WORK TO DO! Do you hear me!?! STOP DANCING AND START PANICKING!!! psycho eye twitch

In all seriousness I am in full end-of-semester-borderline-mental-breakdown mode. Dynamics exam this Thursday, Calc III exam today, Physics exam Monday next week, and Finals the week after that.

Will attempt to contribute some worthwhile links if I have an hour or so of free time at any point this week.

It’s only #2 if all travelers are specifically instructed to French kiss the first person they see in their destination airport.

Today is growing to be unendurably boring. I’ve got lunchtime in 15 minutes, though, so I have that to look forward to. And today’s my flex-time day, so I get to leave at 4:30. But something tells me that I won’t have two and a half hours of work sitting on my desk when I get back from lunch. Stoopid recession.

And tomorrow, I have the day off and can finally check out all the links thus far posted. Insert happy dance. Or I can shoot more zombies, which is the best stress relief since punching kittens*.

  • Of course I’ve never punched kittens. Although I did punch a full-grown cat by accident once. He bit me and I was surprised and it hurt, and I reacted without thinking.

And then I gave him treats and much scratchies, because I felt so bad.

Thank you, so glad to be of disservice. If it’s any consolation I always end up wasting a lot of time on that site, too.

Imagine my disappointment when I learned these weren’t real shelves.

I’m off today because I had to take my daughter to her eye exam. I didn’t really need to take the entire day off, but hell, I’m burned out, and it’s nice to not have to burn the extra gas.

So, the eye exam is completed, glasses have been purchased, and we can pick them up in two weeks. Thank goodness for my federal discount.

It’s raining and cold here. We’re not as bad off as Rebo, though.

I’m glad KT survived another round of layoffs, although if it were me, I’d start looking too.

I don’t really have any interesting links. I read the news…a lot. The news sites are the only sites I visit with any regularity. Well, other than the SD and Facebook.

Yes, Swampy, my son was a bit tired, but mainly just his legs and feet hurt. He worked drive thru the entire time and they don’t have those little padded mats for the employees to stand on. He did well, though. Didn’t have a single screw up and was praised my management for the job he was doing and staying cool under pressure.

My daughter and I were going to go to Sonic for lunch, but it’s a madhouse again, so we bailed on that plan. Too bad, I wanted some onion rings. Now, we’re waiting for Mr. Taters to get home and then we’ll head out to a late lunch/early dinner.

We watched *Seven Pounds *last night. My goodness, what a terribly sad movie.

I have a hankerin’ to buy tshirts… wonder why? Ashes to Ashes, Beer to Pee HEE! I want!

Howdy Y’all! Two down and three to go! WOOHOO!!! It takes very little to excite me.

I put some ham and bean soup on in the slow cooker last night before beddy bye time. It was all done this mornin’. I will heat it up for dindin and serve it with cornbread leftover from last night. YUM!

I forgot to add a warning that those shelves probably aren’t quite safe for work. No hanging parts are seen but … there’s butts. Sorry.

Don’t worry- as soon as you’re done My Work begins- all that grading!

I’ll have multiple projects, final exams, lab reports, internship updates etc etc etc.

But I’ll be done lecturing!

(happy dances quietly away).

Crap! I was just thinking we’d recovered from yesterday’s work disaster and this morning’s so I’d be able to get outside and enjoy the nice weather after work. And then I found out that I screwed something up this morning and we have to go back to where we were at lunch time. Crap crap crap! And I have no one to blame but myself this time! :smack:

ooooh, creepy man-shelves.

Creepy man-shelves they might be, but I happen to think they’re delightfully toned and rather nummy-looking naked man-shelves. Still, horribly impractical… I can think of better things to balance on there than books and tchotchkes.

It’s finally quit-o’-clock. Hurray!

Even better, I managed to talk my way out of going to the 'burbs tomorrow, so I don’t have to wake up at the ass-crack of dawn to get to work tomorrow. More hurrays!

I’m naked!

Well, not really, but I just got back from a follow-up visit with the spine surgeon and I am now bandage-free.

He said the healing incision looks teriffic and to come back in two months. He said I should avoid excessive bending and twisting. I asked if that meant that I shoudn’t do any go-go dancing. He said yes, and I said that was good as I don’t know how to go-go dance anyway.

Ew. If you can see ribs, they’re too skinny!

:eek:Whoa, that picture was not quite work safe! I will look at it more when I am home. Verrrrrrry carefully. And now when I look back at the thread I see the warning. Whoops. Yep, can’t look at pictures of people’s puppies or kittens, but I apparently can look at naked man shelves. Stoopid software.

It snowed. SNOWED. It didn’t stick, but it #$%* SNOWED overnight and off and on until the last couple of hours. It is nearly May. It can stop snowing. (Yes, I moved here voluntarily. Yes, I like snow. No, I do not like it snowing in April.)

before I blurf - I will send you to this cool animation. Enjoy

ok, now - blurf.

How you doin’?

That was good soup! I’s stuffded! And sleepified.

Rosie HEE!

I’m in!!!

Good wishes on your Memorial Day (what does one say?) and happy independence day, SO!

Those shelves were…interesting.

Loved all the design sites, though.

Glad KT survived the layoffs. And, yeah, looking around now is probably wise.

Yay on a successful opening for Tatersson!

Glad the healing is going so well, gotti.

 on the flooding, Rebo. Hope things clear up quickly.

Really tired today. Guess I’ll try to crawl into bed early and see if that helps.

I know I’m forgetting people, so: hugs.

Back eventually…

GT

Home. Finally.

I stopped at the MD’s office and had a spot of actinic keratosis and a sebaceous cyst removed from my back. The cyst was properly disgusting, basically a pea sized petrified zit.

As I write this, the lidocaine is wearing off, and the (former) cyst itches like a mofo.

Next week, Baby Alien The Sequel gets removed from my right hand. Ain’t I the sponge for minor surgery?

ETA: Herbs, check your PMs, dammit.

My daughter and I went out to lunch with Mr. Taters, a co-worker of Mr. Taters, and the co-worker’s son. I am stuffed, very stuffed. I had the crispy chicken salad. Dinner will not be required.

We walked in the door to see my son totally zonked out in the den, with his Facebook page open. I was soooooo tempted to post something silly (payback for what he did on my page), but I didn’t.

At any rate, he’s managed to migrate to the big chair and a half in the great room and is passed out there. That poor kid is just exhausted. Fortunately, he doesn’t have to work until Thursday again.

I just dropped my daughter off at work and will have to pick her up at nine.

Thankfully, tomorrow I don’t have anyone but myself to cart to and fro to work.

Sez you. I like them a little skinny (at least to start), so that I can fatten them up myself. Strange that even though my “type” is tall and lanky and slim, I tend to end up with shorter, average-weight types when it comes to LTRs… I’d take an Orlando Bloom or a Joseph Fiennes over a Russell Crowe or Hugh Jackman any day of the week.

'Sides, you’re already competing with swampus for the burly, hirsute man-types… so this way, it leaves more for the two of you to fuss over. I’m generous like that.

TVCTPMO must have had the afternoon off. As soon as I expressed my displeasure with the wet, gray weather on Twitter, the sun poked out its head to say hello… which, of course, meant we got to take our new BBQ for a test drive with a batch of nummy burgers. MMmmmmmm. My belly is happy.
