TGIF!
Blurf. I’ve been eating cereal for breakfast this past week. Today I’ve been reminded that I am lactose intolerant and probably shouldn’t do that anymore. Looks like it’s time for a trip to the lactose pill store.
This morning I had toaster waffles so my digestive tract can stfu.
What fcm said!!!
While I’m not freaking out over this flu, I am, nevertheless, amazed at how rapidly it is growing. I am pretty sure we can expect it to infect a lot of people. It doesn’t have to kill them to really mess things up.
That’ about it for now.
Tupug
The hype/hysteria is growing at a rate approximately the cube of the infection rate.
I’ll be sleeping in my bunk. Wake me up for meals.
It ain’t just Friday, in most of the world it’s also Labor Day.
So even if I had a project right now, I wouldn’t be working!
I am so glad it’s FIRDAY, even though I was two hours late to work today. At least I made it in! I just got up later than usual and it snowballed into two hours, what can I say?
Canes play tonight. I’ll have to join it in progress, since I’m closing tonight. Gordie and I are throwing Kongs at each other.
Still feel like hell. Want to sleep.
Okay, **Soapy, **this has been going on for several days now…I’m a little worried about you. You’re sure you just have a regular bug, right? The doc said so, right?
They’ve now shut down about seven schools in mystate. Thankfully, none of them are in my son’s school district; they are all north of where we live, except for one that just closed as of this morning. A school in my county (still not my district, thank goodness) was shut down because two boys there are “probable” as opposed to “suspect” and have been hospitalized. I guess one of those boys is a regular traveler to Mexico.
Geeze Louise! It’s craziness I tells ya! We’ve been given OPORDERS here where I work in response to H1N1, but I haven’t had a chance to read them.
I am so very glad it’s Friday. I am tired and burned out. I’m waiting for my boss to show, but I don’t know if he’s coming in or not. He hasn’t called me, so I don’t know what’s going on.
I guess I should put my nose back to the grindstone. I’ve managed to run reports, correct some reports and glitches, and buy an Americano. I have tons to do, not nearly enough time!
Morning, all. <yawn> I have finished my several-day-long marathon of work; what can I say? It was profitable, but I am so wiped out it’s ridiculous. I literally fell asleep sitting here at my desk a little while ago – with a mouth full of coffee! Nearly choked when I woke up – it’s bad enough startling awake, but with your mouth full of liquid it takes on a whole new level of challenge. But that tells you how wide awake I am today. Except not.
I have found the perfect knitting project for the [del]swine[/del]H1N1 flu:
Doesn’t everybody need one of these?
Honestly, the daily Homeland Security briefings are getting to be a bit much. Again today, natch. For some reason I have been the lucky person who [del]drew the short straw[/del]has been given this exciting assignment. At least that gives me about four hours to take a nap.
I know there was something else I was going to mention, but it is long gone in my failing memory. So a blerghy Firday to you all – I’ll be back. Eventually. When and if I wake up.
The knitted surgical mask is awesome, Mama Tigs!
We got an email from HR yesterday about the flu. Same as what everyone else is being told: Wash your hands. Stay home if you’re sick. Stuff we should all know and be doing anyway.
It’s been a hectic Friday morning already. Which means the day is going by fast, but it means I still have a bunch to get done. And not a lot of Dope time!
I decided to take the day off. I’d call it a mental health day, except that it’s also May 1 which means that I am now a filthy Commie.
So far my main accomplishment is heading out to Lowes, getting some mosquito larvae killer and throwing it in the water-filled ditch behind the house.
This actually looks like it could be some relatively accurate reporting.
Israeli aircraft are all US-made, so they probably do have active American FoF systems, which could likely throw a Stinger off.
Then there are… other measures which would help do the same thing. I doubt the Stinger was really drawn to Hamas’ guns… But I don’t doubt there could be counter-measures in action which foiled it.
It ain’t just Friday, in most of the world it’s also Labor Day.
And because of the OMFGWEREGOINGTODIEOINKOINKFLU!!! it appears to be a “mayday” situation in the rest of the world…

Well, I have a PhD, so technically I’m a doc- does that count?
No fever, no runny nose, no typical flu symptoms. Just a persistent headache, really tired, very achy and a little GI distress.
If it doesn’t abate soon, I will check it out.
Thanks for worrying!
Happy May Day (as opposed to mayday)!

:Little-old-lady: Doctor… what kind of disease is Philosophy…?

Well, feel better anyway, even if it isn’t the OMFGWEREGOINGTODIEOINKOINKFLU!!!
Happy May Day (as opposed to mayday)!
And a very happy SOS to you, too!

The knitted surgical mask is awesome, Mama Tigs!
Oh, knitted, like yarn. At first I thought that was a kitten mask, which might be something more like this

Do the letters “MD” appear after that?
I’m glad you you’re not suffering all the symptoms, but really, this is the sixth day. That’s not common for you, is it?
Sigh…three more hours and I can go home. I wanna go now, dammit!

I prescribed myself a scoop of vanilla ice cream with sliced strawberries, Hershey’s syrup and whipped cream.
I expect that to help anytime now.
Howdy Y’all! I’s home and accounted for. One more day I didn’t die a horrible death from bein’ in public.
We’re goin’ to Sonny’s BBQ for dindin. I’m bein’ treated. YAY!!! So soon as ol’ y’all know who gets here we’ll go eat.
Today I [del]rode herd on[/del] played mentor to some folks fresh out of trainin’. 'Twas fun actually. Walked ‘em through takin’ a couple of calls then went in the classroom and let 'em hear the calls. It’s fun to watch people’s faces when they hear their recorded voices.
Soony’s BBQ is major yum. I was there a couple of years ago on our drive down to South Carolina to see my in-laws.
I’ve been hearing TOO MUCH about BBQ lately and really, really want some.
