TAR 10/13: "King Arthur Style"

Placeholder!

Chances are there’s a football game that’s going to pre-empt :sigh:

But hey…according to the preview there’s the !) possibility of a missed flight, 2) navigating people-as-placeholders on a map, and 3) knights and armor and arrows!

In this age of a million TV channels why can’t sports stick to the sports channels? Hopfully they’ll post it online on schedule.

The late game is on Fox this week - TAR should start on time tonight. And thanks kiz for starting a new thread for this week!

Yeah, I noticed there was no game scheduled on our CBS affiliate

No problem  I’ve been trying to stay offline during the weekend, but given the confusion last week, I deliberately signed in so I could at least post this

Are spoilers allowed? I will be careful and say I am amazed how it ended, and disappointed with the show.

I had sand or dust or something in my eyes at the end. I really liked those guys and they just couldn’t catch a break. I don’t know what’s to be disappointed in the show about. I kinda like this season so far. Hope you’ll elaborate.

It seems like nothing that happened to them was their fault. They didn’t ignore the directions, or do a task wrong, or not bother to learn to drive a stick shift,. The person at the airport screwed up their reservations and that was it.

Why couldn’t this one have been a non elimination? And then the whole, “Well, you’re already at an airport so good-bye” just seemed cold. But practical, however.

But that does give a little credence to the idea that the non-elims are pre-arranged and not at the whim of the Amazing Producers.

Well, they did commit the cardinal sin of being the only team relying on not one but two connecting flights. Twice as much opportunity for something to go wrong. But yeah, Phil’s goodbye was oddly cold.

Tim and Danny are growing on me, as are Brandon and Adam. I can’t stand Marie. If you’re so in control, why are you in last place? I’m also not real keen on the ER doctors, at least the female. She just seems…grating.

I really felt sorry for those guys, screwed twice by the same travel agent. If they would have kept their original itinerary they would have been fine. On the other hand, they did know they were taking a risk with a flight with two connections and decided the risk was worth it. I think that may be the first time I’ve ever seen a team eliminated without even getting to the mat.

Why was everyone referring to the baseball wives as “The Bunnies”?

Man, there was a lot of airport drama in this episode.

[QUOTE=Pinky]
As far as our relationship with the Bunnies go, We hate them right now. The express pass is not even an option. They pulled a stunt that I would pull, and I wasn’t expecting it from them, so it kinda lets me know that…Now its on

BWWWAAAHHHHH

He doubled down with “Good luck with that (booking a flight home).”

Yeah, the very first person they had to deal with on the leg sealed their fate. Absolutely nothing else they could have done. They had a seven hour lead over the baseball wives and probably ended up seven hours behind them without even doing one task. Speaking of the baseball wives, I guess Spring Training and those long road trips take their toll…

I just realized that the male ER Doc is the Dr from untold tales of the ER. Anyone else notice this?

Phil has eliminated people in fields before, but I do think this is the first time he’s eliminated someone right in the airport. I do hate that those guys got eliminated. They seemed to be having a good time and no drama. They even took all their problems on this leg in stride.

As far as “Pinky” being mad at the “bunnies” (that’s the baseball wives, right?), she should be mad at herself for sitting around and not trying to get on the standby list herself. Why would anybody just sit around and think all the others should do the same? The baseball wives made a very smart move and Pinky got burned. Boo hoo for her.

I did like the airport scramble. Too bad it bit the football players in the ass. First to worse that’s gotta hurt.

Afganimals are to dumb to last much longer. “Do you think he sailed through the Panama Canal?”:smack:

When the Bunnies went to look for the lounge Pinky was like “Just let them go.” Then was all surprised when they got the standby seat. Love it, love it, love it.

I realize this is probably a rhethorical question, but at the risk of going offtopic - it’s because sports are one of the few things in the age of the DVR that people watch live. Live watchers actually see the commercials instead of skipping them, so they’re one of the few spots commercials are guaranteed to be seen. They’re the money makers.

Well, they wanted to, but there was no one at the counter. Looks to me like the baseball wives went into the “Executive Members” area - something I would think you couldn’t do unless you were a member (and who’s going to be a member of a South American airline company?) Didn’t help that the Baseball Wives were also really being vague… that would probably piss me off too. Not that Pinky didn’t deserve it, though, since she’s shown herself to be a huge bitch so far.

And yeah, really lame that the NFL guys got eliminated solely due to the incompetence of their travel agent (and flight delays beyond their control). I guess TAR likes their airport drama (and pretending that it’s a “race”), but from a competitive standpoint I’d wish they’d limit that aspect. It’s much more fun seeing people lose because they got lost driving their own cars or failing at a task instead of getting screwed by a travel agent or taxi driver.

She has definitely shown herself to be that. I’m so sick of her waving that express pass in everybody’s face (figuratively, of course).

Yeah, you’re right, they did say the counter was closed. However, I was under the impression that was the checkin counter at the gate their flight was leaving from. Why not look around and find another place to ask? Find the transfer counter for the airline they were flying on. Ask at another gate. Try something! Obviously the baseball wives did and it worked.

I know but I don’t like it. ESPN should start a broadcast network.

They didn’t use the lounge just the ticket counter there. As long as you have tickets and the regular counter is closed the airline is going to serve their passengers.

It’s the flipside of everyone bunching up on one flight and the leaders losing a huge lead.

I would love to hear someone to tell her to stick that pass up her ass. After all, if she can’t give it away…
