Is that what it’s called now, a VBob moment? I avoid having them, but for some reason I keep witnessing them…
I called it “Time to buy smaller duds.”
I didn’t move cubicles, but I had to rearrange mine. I was going to do it yesterday, but the AC was out. It’s all better today. They wanted me to move my monitor “to have everything set up like the cube is designed for,” and so “I could show leadership” - WTF? I have what I call an “ironing board” - a meeting desk thingie. I had my monitor on it, and I could face the entrance. Now I’ve moved it to the corner and my back is partially to the door. Blech.
I bought a privacy glare screen. Hrmph.
Morning all! I went to sleep at the un-ogly hour of 9 PM last night (don’t laugh - I’ll bet Swampy was probably already asleep by then … chuckles). Of course, that almost always leads to waking up around 2:30 AM and then not being able to get -back- to sleep. :smack:
Poor Puggy, but thanks for the laugh at the co-worker who sounds like her pug when she reverse sneezes!! We went through cube reconfiguration back in February and it was horrible, so my sympathies all around.
I’m still kinda blurfy, even with coffee and now tea… Happy Tuesday all.
Happy belated birthday, BooFae!
The cube rearrangement sucks, Rebo. I hate having my back to the “door” of my cube. One of my coworkers tends to walk in and stand right behind me instead of knocking on the cube wall or in some other way announcing her presence. Drives me bonkers.
I’m just glad I still have half of the biga left to make more bread, gt!
We’re headed to Chicago on Thursday for a long weekend. No real plans. Should just be fun to get away for a few days. If I can just make it through two more days of irk!
It’s quiche day!!
Today was a major league meh, but I survived, so there’s that. I’ve got a load of towels in the washer, and I’m making a couple of shrimp quiches for supper. I also heard from my friend in JAX who I’ll be visiting on Sat - yay!
Other than that, just another freekin’ day in paradise. I am soooooooo ready for a weekend.
Howdy Y’all! Irk has reached a new level of irkiness for me.
I found out today that I have been selected to particiapte in some more Super High Intensity Training. This involves testing proposed new software. That doesn’t sound so bad you say? That’s cause that ain’t the bad. The bad is, it starts next week. On Sunday. Yep. I get to work Tuesday through Saturday this week and then, instead of a couple of days off, I get to go in on Sunday mornin’! An hour later. Which means I stay an hour later. For the next two weeks. So I get to work ten days in a row, have Friday and Saturday off, work Sunday through Thursday then have Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday off cause I go back to my regular schedule then. The irk part is 10 days in a row. I suppose I get all Pollyanna about the whole thing as say, but at the end of the two weeks, I get four days in a row. Ok, that will be Mother’s Day weekend and I do plan on goin’ up to see Mom and the family. That does mean I can spend three days with that and then have a day at home. However, I still have to work ten days in a row and I DON’T LIKE IT!!! So There!
Ok, I am gettin’ taken out for dindin to the hog trough. That makes me feel a little better. OYKW, however, will have to suffer through much bitchin’ and moanin’ from me. I claim the right to do so tonight. I’ll listen to one of his sessions in exchange. It’s one of the rules. Said rule goes like this, “Fine, I’ll listen to you bitch this time but I get the next one.” It works out good for us.
So, now, Ima go have me a beerverage and brood over the fact that I HAVE TO IRK TEN STINKIN’ DAYS IN A ROW, DAMMIT!!!
We now return you to your regularly scheduled MMP.
Quiches are quiching in the oven. Towels are in the dryer, mixed shirts and stuff are in the washer. Critters have been fed. I’ve got half an hour or so to chill. Life is good.
swampy - I’ve been where you are, in spades. Not only did I have to work something like 15 days in a row, they were 12 hour days! Oh yeah, good times… Good thing I love my job, right?
We had a lunch meeting today, and when it was over, there were 3 chips ahoy left in the package. One guy offered them to be saying “Here! Don’t be shy!” To which I responded “Oh yeah, like I’m shy!” But I didn’t take the cookies. I didn’t want them. Now, if they’d been homemade, that would have been a different story.
The quiche is smelling yum. Can’t wait till it’s time to eat… <drool>
They ain’t gettin’ no fifteen hours out of me! Maybe nine. If I’m feelin’ generous maybe 10. That’s it though!
The Hog Trough was good. Now I’s feelin’ sleepified. Not because I et too much but because I didn’t sleep too good last night. I foresee a melatonin in the very near future.
Matter of fact, think I’ll go take me one and lie upon da bed and watch me some teevee. Sounds like a good plan on a cloudy gonna rain anytime evenin’.
Nitey Nite Y’all!
Just popping in to say hello.
Hello, kai!
5 more weeks of teaching, 7 more weeks of R&D. Blwekjfnsldniegh.
Must. Save. Money. I want so badly to go shopping for clothes but I am heroically holding back til I get to the US this summer.
Happy Birthday mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm! Hope you made it home safely.
Hi kai!
The book actually looked quite good, lieu.
Am up way too late and have to be out the door at 7:00 a.m.
That sounds very irky, swampy.
I know I’m missing a bunch of things…hope to catch up tomorrow.
Hugs.

Happy birthday, mmmmmmms! - glad you made it home to your family, so sad that you might be stuck there a while!
Two of my friends went to Venice last week for a few days, ended up staying a lot longer than they’d intended. They booked single flights with sleazyjet so they have taken a refund on the flights back to the UK which were cancelled, the new plan is that our friends in Hungary are going to drive to Italy today to collect them, they’ll stay in sunny Hungary until sometime next week when sleazyjet are flying again and then get return flights from Budapest instead. Shannon’s lucky enough that she can work from anywhere and she took her laptop with her, so that’s good news. Geoff’s carpentry business might take a bit of a pounding though. Good job he finished my bathroom cabinets first!
In other news, I lost half a pound at Fat Club last night. Well, that was the half pound I gained the week before. My next plan is to lose another 6 1/2 pounds before I go to Antwerp in July, that’s to make room for all the beer.
Happy birfday, mmmmmmmmmmmms!!!
So sad, boofae, that your friends got stuck in Venice.
Hi, kai!
