That’s Some Bad Puns... The MMP

We just picked up a new kitten today. About 3-4 weeks all and cute as all get-out.

Yes, yes, impatient people, there will (eventually) be pictures. Sheesh! :stuck_out_tongue:

And they do make remarkably good body-warmers when they get a little bigger  Just what I need here in 20 degree (F - for “furriner” – that’s about 70 in “real American” units) weather – Something making me warmer!

Hah. Olive, at times, thinks she’s a dog as well. She’s always underfoot and is not good at the whole loofing thing either.

Some1 - ooooh, kitty!!! Does s/he have a name?

Roger. That’s what the twins came up with… I think they were on a pirate theme when they thought that one up (yes, they know what the “Jolly Roger” is, and what it’s called – in English. Dem’s smart, not like they’re* old man! :))

  • Just in case – yes, that **was **deliberate!

cats behaving like dogs? you mean, like when Smokey chases her tail for no apparent reason? (couldn’t be worms, she’s never outside unless in a carrier in my car)

That is exactly Cuervo behavior, but only with me, no one else. Follows me around like a lint ball on a sock. I think because of his kitty-hood, when he was bottle fed, spoon fed, medicated and played with exclusively by me for about 4 weeks, he thinks I’m his mama.

TGIF!!

That’s all I’ve got. **FCD ** wants to go out for steak, and I just don’t want to go out. Any chance we can get a visit by the steak fairy? And the salad fairy? And the baked N.O.T. fairy? Ya think??

Me neither.

<sigh>

Yay for Noor cleaning up! Gotta make sure she continues to practice that Look of Ultimate Cuteness that will continue to bring in the loot, too. As well as the Look of Sad Spaniel Eyes that will get her out of any misbehavior with anyone – except you, natch, moms learn immunity to such looks early. Just ask snowbunny. Her Sad Spaniel Eyes were truly mind-bogglingly effective.

That’s the only idea I came up with, too. There’s always going to be a slight difference in stitch tension between knit and purl stitches, though (and even more when you start using yarn overs), so that’s another thing to watch out for and practice, making the stitches with the same tension. One easy way to check that out is to do a swatch in stockinette (i.e. knit the right side, purl the wrong side), and then look at the different rows; if the stitches that resulted from the side you purled are looser or tighter than the ones from the ones that were knitted, more practice should help. The type of yarn you’re using can also make a difference; working with different thicknesses of yarn can really throw you at first. I’m still barely able to knit evenly with laceweight yarn without doubling it, and I’ve been knitting for, what, 25 years?

If any of that makes sense.

Rosie, my don’t wannas today have extended even to knitting. I just can’t seem to concentrate on anything because my foot and leg are starting to ache badly again. And the weather is extra-pretty, so I can’t even blame that. :frowning: I need to find something to make it feel better for the next few days or they’ll be written off in their entirety. :frowning: Have I mentioned how aggravated I am with my doctor?

I think the nap idea may be the best suggestion anyone has come up with yet. Added bonus: It would earn me brownie points with the cat. Time spent in bed during the day is always good for extra Feline Brownie Points.

Ok, mutiply that by 4 - I bottle raised 4 of mine. That is why my desk is always covered with cat. Actually at the moment I’m kind of lonely; only two on the desk and a total of five in the office.

**tigs ** - have you been keeping up with your PT? or have you slacked off now that **LapinBlanc ** has moved out?

I’ve returned from erranding and taking my daughter in for labs and an injection.

I kind of feel like having dinner out, but only without the “going out” part. Tonight’s dinner shall be left over tatertot casserole.

My dog is currently lying at my feet giving me big, sad eyes because he wants some of my Kettle Branch New York Cheddar and Herbs chips. He isn’t getting any.

OMG those chips are like crack! Cloud Maiden and I always say we shouldn’t be eating so much them yet we never fail to buy a bag when we go grocery shopping. :smack:

I meant to type “Brand” not Branch, but eh, so what, you knew what I meant.

I like their Salt and Pepper chips. Those are quite tasty.

The dog has given up and snorted at me in disgust. He’s now lying in the hallway, pointing out towards the kitchen. Every once in a while, he turns his head to look at me. It’s funny to watch him pout.

Oh yes, I do lots of exercises, Rosie, even though snowbunny is no longer here to kick my butt. My pain issues, alas, are completely unrelated to my knee – or, actually, were behind my needing the knee surgery; I’ve had foot problems in my foot on my other leg since surgery complications from 2000, and and the limping from that was what wore out my knee, which I’d first torn cartilage in when I was 14 but had been living with with no problems all these years. I’ve since had repair surgery on the foot that caused the permanent nerve damage that gives me the problems today – although the surgery did help with some of the functional problems or I’d have had them just hack the whole damn thing off by now, I think – and that’s what flared up when I was traveling, and is why I’m low on meds now. My knee feels just fine, fortunately, and I don’t have any issues at all with it. It’s kinda frustrating, as you might imagine. :frowning: How’s your knee coming along?

Hi all!

It’s my day off, and I have been a swarm of activity. Sort of. I went to the doctor (fasting! doncha hate that?) and got poked and prodded. It was a diabetes checkup. And I got blood taken and had to pee in cup and got a pew-monia vaccine. I turned down the flu vaccine. Then I went to eat breakfast at the famous Waffle House - mmm, scattered hashbrowns, smothered and covered. Then dropped off some cleaning, then home to take the crazy aminals to the park.

Then I took a nap. I got up and went to the store and got a few things with which to make French Silk Pie. It’s in the fridge right now! Yummy. I’m fixin’ to head into the kitchen and fix a down-home meal of epic portions - er, proportions - poke chops and fried NOT and okra-n-maters and black-eyed peas.

We finally got a cool front, which only amounts to less humidity but dayum is it nice! I was almost chilly this morning! Around 66° F. But up in the high 80’s right now. One of these days I’m gonna be able to turn off this freakin’ AC…

So I better get busy. Mr Rebo is about to head home, and I love to have his dinner waiting for him. I’m such a good wifey.

Bye, folks!

After turkey meatballs and Alfredo noodles, I am mainlining walnut studded brownies like there’s no tomorrow. I was being so good, too.

Laundry is folded and put away; some of my summer stuff is also put away (no sooner do I put all the T shirts and short up than it gets to be 90 again), #2 son had practiced a few times tables sheets. Time for relaxation.

Can I come over for dinner, Rebo? That sounds yummy yummy yummy!

Home, tired, and sore. I don’t know if I’m overworked, or have arthritis or scurvy. The cat is sitting on the desk, watching me eat salad.

Lunch you slacker, I posted doggie pics, and I don’t even have her home yet!

MamaTigs, I think Nelly is about 7 or 8. She’s a little gray, but still active.

Most probably scurvy. That’s a professional opinion from a Registered Nurse.
I am wasting time. I do that well. Too bad the things I excel at are not the same things that make me money.

I think I’ll peruse that Dan Savage blog for awhile. Heh.

grrrrr. I cracked the big bowl that I threw with the red/purple stained clay. I had just finished waxing the foot so I could glaze it, and when I was setting it upside-down, it slipped, and a 2" section broke off. grrrrr. I just sprayed it down and stuck the broken pieces back in the best I could, then covered it to keep it wet. I think I still have a few scraps of that color clay - maybe I can repair it. <sigh> It was such a pretty bowl. :frowning:

We ran down to Outback for supper - not too bad, and I didn’t have to do dishes, so there’s that. I think I’ll have me some ice cream, then assume the chill posture.

Did I say TGIF?? Yeah, TGIF…

pretty good, but I still have issues with stairs and armless chairs. The surgeon (when I went to see him last month because of the tendonitis) said it could be as much as a year or even a little longer before my strength is back - but, heck, I had NONE before the surgery, so whatever I get now or over the next few months is just icing
