The 2016 is almost over MMP

With your back, it is going to be a bitch bringing King Kong in off the porch.

Hooray, Kirk! I’m raising my mug of tea in salute! Happy 100th!

Happy Sunday all. We took the kids to the maul to visit Santa, but changed our minds after we saw the wait in the queue was over an hour long. They have an option to book a fast track slot online, so long as you pre-pay for your photo package, then you can skip the queue altogether, so we booked a slot and bought the photo package (which will keep the grandparents happy), and then proceeded directly to lunch. Kidlets had McD’s, hubs had sashimi and I skipped it, as the custard tart and coffee I had earlier were still sitting heavy in my gut.

Still loads of Christmas shopping to do, but I have to pace myself, since the walking and big crowds wear me out - we’ll try to get some more done on Tuesday, after Santa.

Monday tomorrow - chemo in the morning, then a quiet day for a bit, while the kids are at kindergarten and Grandma’s house. Another week ends …

I’ve tried it a couple of times; it’s freakin’ AWESOME!!!

However, it needs much the same weather as ballooning…which I’m off to do that right now (for the first time in months)!!!

With you I have to ask - shift or shots?

I’ve done that, too. It has it’s ups & downs.
Welcome back from the warm & sunny, Sunny.

Good morning!! and BRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!

It’s a frosty 29° this slightly overcast morning, with rain promised overnight. I finally got to sleep just a bit after midnight and despite waking once, I made it almost all the way to 7, so there’s that.

The company party was nice. The spread of “heavy horse-doovers” was impressive - Italian, Asian, Mexican, and seafood. I chose some lumpia, a meatball, some shrimp tempura, some fried shrimp, and some mini-crab cakes. Washed down with a glass of white wine! Yes, I drank last night. Later, they had really good cake set up in another room - I so wanted 2 pieces, but I was nice and had just one. Shoulda grabbed a second one…

The company founder gave out time-of-service awards. This company has been in business since 1986. There were several folks who got 30-year awards! And 25, and 20, and 15, and 10, and 5. I was really surprised at the number of long-timers there. But from what I understand, if you’re good at what you do and you make money for the biz, you are appreciated and appropriately compensated.

**FCD **seemed to have a good time, too, and he introduced me to a bunch of folks, some of whom I’d met but forgot. I’m terrible with names and faces… I also met the company prez, son of the founder. Nice guy. Oh, and one of the awardees was the grandson of the founder. And one of the daughters-in-law is the company lawyer, currently very pregs with the founder’s first great-grandchild! Even spousal unit’s boss and his wife got awards - they’re not related to the founder, but they and their son work there too! This truly is a family business.

My baby engineer coworker was there and he sat with us most of the evening. There were women there in sequinned gowns and my coworker showed up in a polo shirt - he felt a bit out of place… poor kid. I also met FCD’s baby engineers - they were hilarious! All in all, a nice night.

As for today - dunno. We shall see.

Happy Sunday!!

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN 'Tis 43 Amurrkin out and cloudy with a predicted high of 63 and partly N.O.S. for the day. Plans for the day include deheathenization (I have ush duty), N.O.L., and then well, not much else.

MOOOOOOM perhaps baby engineer should have worn his sequined polo shirt. Food sounds nummy. Glad y’all had a good time.

OK, I need more caffeine and rumbly tummy demands sustenance. Then, purtification for deheathenization must commence.

Happy Sunday Y’all!

It was a sad waste of bacon.

I need to do all the things today. I have to write something and work on one of the *six * (6) hats people have ordered. (Two more orders yesterday. Fortunately one is in a color I already have made.) I’m busier on my days off than I am when I’m at work.

Happy Sunday!

We have snow, it’s 25 degrees outside, I am not amused.
We have to go out for the English final today.
It’s a four hour test so I’ll drop him off and then go back for him. Four hours is too long to sit there, especially in the cold. Since the test includes writing an essay, I expect it will take him the full four hours.

I’m supposed to go to a family party Saturday, but it looks like we are supposed to have freezing rain. I’ll wait and see. Sah-son won’t be going with me so if I get stuck in Baltimore the dog and cat will be okay.

I wish I was still young and stupid, a time when I looked at snow and ice as a challenge instead of an obstacle.

I really want to see my cousin’s house, and the extended family.

I haz a big blurf, I didn’t sleep well last night.

I need to be irking but it’s hard to irk when I’m fuzzy in the head.

Some breakfast should help.

Woke up to about 3 inches of snow. More is expected today. I’m now watching the 1935 version of Scrooge. A Christmas Carol is my favorite holiday story, no matter what it is called. My back is better but not 100%.

Be sure that your pilot takes his meds!

Adventures in breakfast…

We went to a new-ish place that we’ve been to a couple of other times. And we got a new server, which isn’t necessarily bad, except it was. She got to our table eventually and our drinks came pretty fast, but then we sat and sat and sat - people who came in after us were eating and still we sat. But we finally got our food and it was good. Then we asked for our check and waited and waited and waited and waited.

This next part was kinda my fault - I didn’t look at the check - I just gave her my card. Well when she brought back the receipt to sign, it was wrong. Fortunately, one of the owners happened by and was all apologetic. That’s when we found out the server was a n00b. She corrected the bill and comped us one drink. She was going to comp us both, but she goofed. She did ask us to come back and said she’d wait on us next time. Still, breakfast shouldn’t take over an hour - not for what we got.

Quick stop at Food Lion for milk and a few other items, then a stop for some cash and for **FCD **to get a fountain drink. Now we’re home, obviously. I’ve got butter softening for oatmeal cookies. I’m going to strip  and remake the bed with the electric blanket. And I’ll probably launder the sheets, just because.

Mostly lazy afternoon, tho.

Snow is coming down. I have officially declared today a snow day and am not getting out of my jimjams

Howdy Y’all! Deheathenization, ush duty and N.O.L. have been accomplished. Lot of folks showed up to deheathenate. We gave out of service bulletins. I even got kind of fussed at by a little old lady who is always late. She said I should have saved her one since I know she’s always late. However, I did get my hug from her, so all was well.

I foresee nappage in the very near future.

Rumor has it that the Donner Party did not get out of their jimjams. :dubious:

sigh How to explain to two small dogs that their outrage at the neighbors cat being in our back yard at 2:30 in the morning doesn’t outweigh my desire to sleep?

Holiday bazaar is over for another year. We made about $700.00, so it was worth the trouble. Today will probably be a day of rest, unless we think of some holiday related activity.

Have a good week y’all!

Could you tape aluminum foil over the window at small dog height?

Squirt bottles? Tinfoil balls? OTOH, are you sure it was the neighbor’s cat?

Up in the wee hours with a major migraine. Wheee! Took migraine pill and went back to bed. I am currently caffeinating.

One other WTF: when I took the dogs downstairs to let them out for their morning constitutionals, the Newfie walked over to our piano bench and started taking a leak right there! Seriously?! He got yelled out and tossed out, and then I got to clean the floor. He’s getting older, but that didn’t quite seem like dementia. I’ll have to watch him. He hasn’t peed in the house since he was a pup. Idiot dog.

Other than that, if my head cooperates there will be laundry and groceries to obtain. Iff’n not, then I shall undoubtedly sleep and sloth around.

Spidey - if your pilot takes meds, make sure he’s taking the right ones!

Movers are coming back on Tuesday to spend the day with me re-arranging stuff, and hopefully getting all of our now empty boxes into the attic. Maybe even some unpacking.

More laters. Blurf!

I really hope that’s not a reference to Friday.

I don’t…so that covers ½ of the flight.

Oatmeal cookie bakeage is complete! Half with raisins, half without. All yummerrific!

So, how long will 8 dozen last in this house? Answer: Not long!

The Stately Turret is now clean. Once I get the last load of laundry out of the dryer I’ll get started on my paying weekend work.
