I just finished reassembling the control box that I took apart the other day. No extra parts left over! GO ME!!!

I feel like I somehow haven’t paid attention to anything this week. I realize it’s Thursday, but I can’t really remember Tuesday or Wednesday very well. At least it’s almost the weekend!
Ex-Lax.
I think using coconut oil in baked goods ruins them. I don’t like coconut and the oil gives off that weird flavor.
I’m feeling lazy today. I can’t quite get the blurf out of my head,
blurfage HOWDY, from irk of course. Tonight is the big Winterfest/Tree lighting at irk. They have been working on setting everything up for two weeks. Such a waste for a three hour event. My boss is a dumbass. He does all these elaborate scenes and just goes overboard. The kids that come to see Santa don’t care about all that stuff. Oh well, I don’t plan to attend so I don’t care.
Another boring day in store here. I don’t really have anything to do except the ever present online training so I will read the internet again today. I could do online training everyday for a month and still not finish.
I shall venture forth to the Pubic Store in a bit to replenish my foods. The irk cupboard is bare.
One day closer to the weekend.
Laundry and then work. Sometimes nice and expected can be a good thing.
Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. Possibly a short day today. If nothing else, today is my Firday. On a First World Problems note, Time Warner did a firmware upgrade of every cable box in N.C. During the hockey game.:mad::mad::mad:
Howdy Y’all! Deleafage of da yahd and bakeage of chawklit chip cookies have been achieved. Go Me! Plus I’m all cleanded up. This mostly cloudy day has turned into a mostly N.O.S. day. I spent an hour this mornin’ on deleafage and maybe another hour on cookie bakeage. The rest of the day is chillax time.
It’s the first really cold day this year and I suddenly got five, count 'em five, orders for berets. These people have all offered to pay me. I have no idea what to charge.
It’s this hat. It takes me an afternoon to make. I will have to buy yarn for four of them. Crafty Mumpers, what do you think I should charge?
I’d charge $20. But I’ve been told I undercharge for my crafts…
**swampy **- did you cook and bake as a young cub at home or is it something you took up after you got out on your own? My mom taught me and my sisters how to cook, but never my bro. But he turned out to be a pretty good cook after he had to feed himself.
In fact, let’s make it an open question for male Mumpers - did your mothers teach you to cook?
Oh, yeah, it’s lunch time.
Good drugs? ![]()
No shit!
Quite busy at irk…discussing when to go out to lunch: tomorrow &/or Moanday.
Job hunting has been achieved & doing some off and on potwalloping.
Getting over the disappointment of the Dell job falling through… I have to keep looking.
Going to a memorial service this evening, which means I have to sit and wait for an hour for Daddy to get off of work. Good thing I will have a book and my phone…
**{{{Emily}}} **
Mooom, I’m surprised that one of you didn’t get up and go to the guest room to finish the night.
butters, around here, the most popular places to have the kiddo’s pics with Santa made are usually the prettiest, most elaborate. That said, I have a feeling that I’ll be framing a pic of my dad’s pooch with Santa when I go up at Christmas (Gracie’s vet does the Santa pic thing at her office each year and Dad took her down the other day).
big kitty, I usually charge materials + 10% and $10 per hour for labor. What I do can be done assembly style for multiples, however, cutting down on the time.
Moooom, my granny was actually the one who taught me to cook. She came to live with us when I was ten. We didn’t have a washer/dryer in the house and there was a man who got dirty for a living, five kids, Mom and her invalid mother to wash for, so two evenings a week, when us kids would come home from school, Mom would trudge to the Laundromat. As I was the oldest kid at home, I got to fix supper for eight people. Granny would toodle out to the kitchen and tell me how to do things (she was blind and infirm, so she really couldn’t do them herself). There were some meals that turned out better than others, but all in all, I received a good, old school cooking education.
pearl, you may have dodged a bullet with that job falling through, if the company is still the type of corporate citizen as the plant that used to be down the road from me.
We had our holiday lunch at irk today. Whoopee! I am going to have to start packing supplemental veggies when they go with barbeque though. For whatever reason, the BBQ places never bring sugar free drinks (not even water!) and the menu is very carb heavy. I refused about half of the offerings and brought it back to my desk (where the coffee was
) to eat and surf.
I can’t stand our guest bed mattress! And **FCD **would have felt worse if I’d done that - like he’d driven me out. Fortunately, this is a rare occurrence - first time in 33 years he’s kicked me! Just every once in a while, he has twitchy dreams, and last night was especially twitchy. Such is life.
I’ve done very little on this drawing from hell - I spend a lot of time waiting for things to happen… like now… Boring!!!
Thanks, all.
Going out to the dentist in a bit.
Emily, hope the dental work help both your health and your mood. {{{}}}
FCM, My mom never taught me to cook, and while I did work in a restaurant most of my college years, that really didn’t teach me to cook for one. So my diet is often frozen, something easy to prepare, or eating out.
This was apparently my ‘get off my butt and do stuff’ day. Mailed a bill, paid the water bill, visited the office to get a fix for the phones (they are coming out tomorrow) and visited three car dealerships to get a first look at what I am thinking about buying next year (first impressions have the Honda Pilot in the lead, the Chevy Traverse second and the Buick Acadia third). Rewarded myself with a #2 meal at Mickey D’s.
But now I am back in the warm home and do not plan to venture out again this day.
Salt instead of sugar is one way. Don’t ask me how I know. ![]()
It’s raining today, but it’s warm. It should clear up enough for pool or snorkeling endeavors later today.
We hear from back home that they have a combination of snow and freezing rain. The result is a mixture of ice and snow accumulations.
Should be cleared up enough for us to drive home from the airport tomorrow night. knocks wood
Happy Thorsday all.
Dumb ass Cat, I told him to stop clawing the couch. For the second time he got his claws stuck. Last time he freaked out and fell off the couch with a THUD! with his paw still stuck in the cushion. This time he sat there and yowled until I helped him get unstuck. Then he glares at me like it’s *MY *fault.
Another grumpy day.
MOOOOOOM my mom taught my sister, my three brothers, and me how to cook, clean house, do laundry the right way and even stuff like how to sew on a button. I am surprised at the number of people who never learned this stuff. Mom didn’t teach us how to make elaborate meals, but the basic skills I learned from her taught me I could expand on things and make really nice meals if I want to do so. We don’t do fancy meals much around here but we do good meals so there’s that. Also I am not above usin’ convenience and/or frozen foods.
It’s been a nice slothful afternoon. I took a nap and have been messin’ around on teh intartoobz.
Of course it is your fault.
He is a cat.
