the almost turkey day mmp

Happy Saturday!

Up, caffeinating, breakfasted, towels in the wash and fixing to do KP. Once purtified, I shall go have the oil changed in the car. I may swing through the Cricket store to get some prepaid data for the tablet to go to Dad’s. After that, sloth.

Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. Hockey and rain today.

I didn’t make it. I just ate some,

She’s Canadian, eh?

'Nanner pudding is good for breakfast.

Becks, nanner puddin’ is fruit, milk, and eggs. Totally cromulent breakfast!

Reminds me of a recent time when my small daughters spent the night with my mom: When I went to retrieve them Sunday, I asked what they’d had for breakfast. Immediately, Ma piped up “cereal and milk.” Daughters sang out “hot chocolate and rice Krispy treats!” I just said “That’s not the person who raised me. That’s an old woman trying to get into heaven.”

Thus ends my Cosby impression…

Can you get the recipe?

Then you’ll serve me chocolate cake?

Why is old people going to church regularly like a college kid studying at the end of the semester? Is it they now have more time because they’ve raised their family & are no longer working so they have the time to now do what they always wanted to do?

Nah, they’re both are cramming for finals.

All the shopping for our gift drives is done and before Black Friday. Its cold and going to get real damp real soon so its time to settle in and just do some general puttering. Dinner may be a couple eye of rounds with mushrooms and onions.

Eleven ayem. Just finished breakfast.

Just finished the last of the countertops - what a non-fun chore. The worst part is having to reach into the corners - my shirt ends up getting wet from leaning over the counter, which, if I thought ahead, I wouldn’t wipe down till I did the corners. Anyway, all clean. I also ran vinegar thru the ice maker and it’s making clear ice again, so yay! I may leave the critter fountain till tomorrow.

There are 7 lap robes in the dryer - I need to get them out, folded, and bagged to take to Mom’s on Thursday. And I need to push the vacuum around the traffic areas - Ziva has shed all over the place!

Fridge is cleaned. Sheets all cleaned and changed on the beds. Cat boxes all clean. I’ll wait on the bathrooms. I gotta get outta here snd go to Wal-Mart. I really really would rather do anything else. It can’t be avoided, tho’.
Cats have abandoned my lap for the dryer top.
Oh, when I walked the dogs I saw bear sign at the pond. Mr.Wrekker told me one is loitering around here. I hope he moves on.

Howdy Y’all! All you bzzzy people and I have accomplished just one thing today. Nappage. ‘Tis about to be rainy out, so good to be in da cave and dry. OYKW is still busy accomplishin’ nappage. He’s slow, but does a thorough job.

Umm, you did clean the rifle after dispatching the feral pigs, didn’t you? You might need it…

After reading a book to Roxy and watching Sesame Street, I decided to clean the critter fountain. Dunno what I’ll do tomorrow, tho.

So far today I’ve done precisely nothing. Painful hands and noisy upstairs neighbors kept me awake until 4 a.m… One of the guys has a very loud laugh that sounds like he’s practicing scales. It’s a happy sound, but not at 3 a.m… I was relieved when the bed-knocking started, knowing they’d go to sleep thereafter. They’re nice guys. I need earplugs.

Spidey, I looked for one of those boneless roasts and couldn’t find any. Too lowbrow for the likes of Safeway?I ended up getting turkey drumsticks.

I need to walk errands.

Gun’s at the ready. I carry it with me when I walk.

Called friend1 to tell her that friend2 rescheduled for next Sunday.

Then called my mother to see if niece2’s ex could come up this week to do some irk around here. It’s not supposed to be too cold next week. They are coming Firday since the kids are out of school and they don’t have to worry about getting back in time to pick them up. Echo will be happy to have some kids to play with, and maybe I can get them to help with picking up sticks and raking leaves. My mother wanted me to come on Sunday for a small Thanksgiving dinner, but instead I am going to make Thanksgiving dinner on Firday. Won’t be much, just a small turkey breast and a few sides. The hardest part is going to be where to seat 6 people.

**sari **- spread a blanket on the living room floor and have a Thanksgiving picnic!!

You’re welcome!

Trying to decide what we’ll do for supper. Pizza is sounding awfully good…

I am binge watching Pose. Dang, it is good.

The dogs would love it!

I’ve got the groceries ordered and got the stuff I forgot to get yesterday.
Then I had to order a bit more to get the amount up so I don’t have to pay the fee.
And I just remembered I forgot to get spam.
Now I have to figure out where I am going to put everything.

I got a four pound boneless turkey breast and a four pound boneless ham. That should be plenty for 6 people.

I have 4 chairs, but if I move the table to the living room, then two people can sit on the love seat.
I only have 3 plates… and four forks… and four knives.

I mean this in a totally non-threatening please-don’t-report-me-to-HR sort of way but -------- that’s why I love you.

We did the cow as swiss steaks and they came out fantastic! This may have been the best batch we ever made.

My mom bought plastic flatware from the dollar store that’s not too cheezy. And there are several brands of substantial paper plates. Unless you want real dishes and flatware…

I opened a can of clam chowder for my supper. I really wasn’t too hungry. **FCD **didn’t want to eat at all, and daughter and SIL took Roxy to Salsa’s. It’s a low-key evening here. And it’s raining and ick outside.

I’m pleased with all I got done today. I can sleep with a clear conscience. As if I wouldn’t sleep if the counters weren’t cleaned. :stuck_out_tongue:

If you aren’t proud or choosy, stoneware and mismatched flatware are really cheap at Goodwill/Sally/St. VdP/etc.

Full sets of china can be even cheaper, because no one wants dishes that can’t go in the microwave and dishwasher.

It’s perfectly charming to mix china patterns, and washing a few plates by hand isn’t too onerous, especially when guests are handy and ask to help clean up!
