the almost turkey day mmp

NOW

that I claimed the spot by peeing on the top of the page ---------- I got nothing really to say.

(I actually did just hit post on the word “now” and then hit edit once I checked my position. Such my life has been reduced to. )

About all the useful I’ve managed so far was litterbox and trash, along with ordering food from Del Taco. I am beyond exhausted lately, even when I’m sleeping a lot (with Nyquil assist).

Dishes are pending. Trying to talk myself into some laundry that is not desperately urgent.

I have done not much today. My knees hurt. Binged The Crown and Played with Hell pup.

I’d like to have real dishes and real flatware for dinner, just because it’s nice to have a real knife for meat, and something substantial for gravy.

I have some old plates in the back of the cabinet somewhere, they aren’t in good shape (they are older than I am) but they’ll do. I guess. I stopped using them because they were cracking and breaking. I put one of them down with cat food on it, I accidentally stepped on the edge and the entire plate shattered. Probably not safe to use, but they have sentimental value.
Two people can use salad forks, and the kids don’t have to have knives.

I don’t mind mis-matched plates, but I do want dishwasher and microwave safe, just because I don’t want the hassle of trying to remember what can go where.

I wanted new plates anyway. I was going to wait until after Christmas, but I’ll start looking now.

I wimped out on walking errands. It’s raining. That and sore foot joints are my excuse. I’m doing laundry instead. One of my goals in life is to fold a fitted sheet so it’s flat and neat. I’ve even studied YouTube movies. It shouldn’t be this hard.

Talked to fallen friend. She really did order the medical alert thingie. If she moves into any kind of facility or even in with her sister, she’d have to give up her dogs and cats. I wonder if that’s a deterrent for other people.

I am going to take out the trash. That’s my big excitement for the day. Dinner will be a salmon burger.

Leaving the pets behind is totally the issue with some folks. My dad would be much safer and have a better social life if he would moved to assisted living, but he won’t go without his dog Gracie. Not that I blame him.

sari, while you’re out buying dishes, pick up a couple of folding chairs. I have two hanging on the wall in the laundry room, so’s with the two kitchen chairs, my desk chair, two folding and the kitchen step stool, I can seat six, eight if the weather cooperates and folks can sit on the patio. Other than that, if the kids are still small, a board between two kitchen chairs will stretch it from two seats to four.

Got most of the errands done today. They did a software upgrade on the car that was under recall. Tomorrow, I still need to stop at Cricket and run to the Mexican market down the street for tomatillos, a couple of poblano and jalapeño peppers for a pot of pozole verde con pollo for Wednesday evening’s supper at Dad’s (he said that he will have some leftover chicken for it). It’s a small enough recipe that we can get away with it before I leave.

I’m getting catfish tonight. DIL is bringing me a plate in a minute. Son-of-a-wrek is a good fish fryer. Even if he cooked it at the camp. I figure hot oil sanitized it. I’ll try not to dwell on it.(:))

I ordered a set of plates from da jungle. Just plain white. The set I have had my eye on for a long time was on sale, but it comes with cups and bowls, and I don’t want or need anymore cups and bowls.

Folding chairs is a good idea, but if I have to, I’ll bring in one or two of chairs on the deck.

I suppose it would be a lot easier and cheaper to just drive down to the armpit on Sunday.

Evening all. I was going to expound on how little I did today, but having read the previous messages, I see that it was a MMP-wide lazy day. Did write a check for the next-door neighbor’s daughter–she’s on the HS softball team and like every organization in creation, they want her to try and raise money. At least they are not try to sell me stuff, just ‘give us money’.

Sari, probably just as well you got them, they’ll last for 20 years (mine has and I bought then cheap at Target) and you never know when you’ll need them.

Becks, take a strong light with you might deter any bear from getting to close.

And…hit the wrong button again, all y’all take care.

Probably not a good sanity move.

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 45 Amurrkin out and fair (as opposed to unjust?) with a predicted high of 61 and N.O.S. for the day. The rain came through mid afternoon yestiddy and was still around when we went sleepy bye. We also did an early sup and ‘twas rainy whilst steaks were bein’ grilled. All in all a pleasant evenin’. The big item on today’s agenda is deheathenization with N.O.L. somewhere afterward. OYKW suggested Steak ‘n Snake and I reminded him of just how awful the local one is. Thus, he changed his mind. I like Steak ‘n Snake in other places. The local, however, is truly awful. Service is always sloooooooooooooooow and food always arrives cold and as to whether or not it will be what you ordered, well, that’s always a crapshoot. I foresee an afternoon/evenin’ of sloth. Just so everyone knows, Mr. Turkey has been in the beerator thawin’ since Firday.

My dinnerware is actually iron stone and looks like this and this. I got most of ‘em years ago at an estate sale and found some on ebay a few years back. We refer to them as the fancy eatin’ plates.

Now I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then purtification for deheathenization must commence.

Happy Sunday Y’all!

Happy Sunday!

I woke up too early and stayed up.

It’s a rainy 37 degrees outside, and yes we are going to the park. Probably go a little later than usual. It’s still dark outside but Ripple is sticking close to me, waiting for a sign that we are getting ready to go. Echo is chewing on my boot. She’s been good about not chewing anything that shouldn’t be chewed, but for some reason she likes my boots.

I forgot to tell my son that we are picking up groceries at 10 today. He stayed up all night and is going to be pretty grumpy when he has to get up.

Fancy dishes Swampy!

I know you are right MetalMouse, they will last me and at some point I will need them. I’ve been trying to cut back on spending because my balance at the jungle is getting pretty high. I abhor paying interest. Then again the dishes really didn’t cost me anything since I get 5% back on purchases and I used that money to buy the dishes.

At least I do have six glasses, and they match.

Good point Nettie. It is always chaos in the armpit, and I hate the drive.

Guess I should get my socks on and my teeth brushed. As soon as I make a move to do either both pups are going to jump up.

well weve started our6-8 weeks of winter …im freezing and the leaves actually fell off the trees mostly as opposed to freezing into dustlike they usually do …so im off to bed hope itwarms up for yall

It was a rainy overnight, but I see blue between clouds, and some sun is promised today. I’m hoping it’ll dry most of the leaves so I can mulch/vac them tomorrow.

Today’s main plan is a trip to Aldi. I want to make a couple of meatloaves and a big batch of pulled poke. They seem to have the best meat prices. They open at 8 and I think I’ll plan to be there early.

Later, I’ll push the vacuum around and maybe mop the kitchen. Roxy will be with her other grandmother, making my chores easier. All in all, a fairly chill day, I think.

Happy Sunday!

Awake and dog walked but that’s it so far. I must be productive today since I was a lazy bum yesterday. I have to attack this mountain of laundry. It’s probably three loads. Maybe more if I round up the towels and dish cloths. Other than all this no other plans for the day. We are going to our neighborhood shindig for Thanksgiving and on Firday I shall cook up some of my famous dressing and a turkey roast just to have for the weekend. One reason I always cook at home is for the leftovers and I shan’t have them this year. Thus two turkey dinners.

I hope everyone has a pleasant Sunday.

It’s cold and wet outside.

It’s supposed to clear up though. I wish we were getting the groceries later, but I wanted to get it over with early

Then I’ll irk a little and do a little laundry.

We had pizza for dinner last night. Mrs. L.A. often doesn’t eat the crust. A while later, she came into the living room and said, ‘Did Goo eat my pizza crust?’ I told her she must have, because I didn’t eat it. Who knew cats like pizza crust? (Actually, it seems as if Goo will eat just about anything.)

Good trip to Aldi. The butt is in the oven. I built a meatloaf, plus froze 2 packages of ground beef for future meals. I also wrapped and froze 5 chickie tits. Roxy is about to leave and I’m about to do a quick vacuuming before assuming the recline position. That’ll last till **FCD **decides he wants to watch football.

It’s Mrs. L.A.'s birthday. I’m taking her out to dinner to our favourite steak house tonight.

Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. Making the bed took extra long today, since somebody was hounding me for extra butt skritches. I need more coffee, it took 3 edits to fix the coding.:smack:

Well, there’s no sanity clause…

[Beavis]Heh heh heh…you said butt. Heh heh heh[/Beavis]
Why yes, I am that juvenile.:stuck_out_tongue:

HAPPY BIRTHDAY Mrs. Flyboy!!!
