Chilly and N.O.S. in the Boro today, expecting a beautiful midday/afternoon. Survived the Episcopal Apocolypse (say that three times!) that **swampy **warned me of last week.
Kids off to school, critters fed, becoming one with the caffeine now. Spiffing and dinner planning are today’s main goals. Big excitement.
Did laundry yesterday, took a couple of random things to The Boy, because I was on that side of town. Didn’t steal a White Claw from the open pack sitting on his porch. (When I messaged him to let him know both, he just said “yeah, it’s cool enough to leave them in the wild now.” I guess the fraternity is doing its part for the environment.)
The local 4H had a petting zoo at the Lord’s Chicken place last night, so the girls got to scritch a sheep, a couple of goats, a cow and calf, a bunny, and a chicken before we went inside to eat more chicken. The Big Girl met us there, because she can always be bribed with cute critters and God’s chicken.
Turns out that BG had, on a lark, dyed her hair blond. No bueno. (My husband’s diplomatic compliment: “No, you don’t look like a crackhead.”) BG was also broke (surprise,) so I sent Tony home with the small girls and BG and I went to the grocery store and the gas station. And I bought her a box of hair dye. And I gave her a bag of goodies that were supposed to be in her Christmas stocking, 'cause sometimes you just need a treat.
BG messaged me later with a picture of her fixed hair. Much better. And also a forwarded text from the key holder/office dude at the grocery store where we had shopped/where I usually shop: “OMG, I didn’t know that was your mom. She’s seriously my favorite customer!” Made me smile.
wet one, keep up the good work, and Rosie’s signature to all!
