the almost turkey day mmp

Evening all. Ate a big midday meal, so skipped dinner by finishing off the remaining Trick or Treat Candy (6 mini-Snickers bars) with a Pepsi. Also cleaned the kitchen up save for the floor, which I will deal with tomorrow.

Need to do a little shopping on the morrow, also Wally’s place has donation bins for plastic bags so I’ll drop them off.

Midget, just be sure that they ‘scopy’ the right endo, OK??

ruble, I always heard rugby players have leather balls…

Sari, just go with what you know and she’ll pitch in.

All y’all have a good evening now.

sari, I got my set of French White casserole dishes via a grocery promo years ago. Still have them, although not used as much.

Getting things caught up so’s I can take next week off. This time next week, I should be walking in the door at my dad’s.

Had a pretty decent day. Missed the Dope. I was away from my devices for awhile. (;)).
I made a big cornbread for the deer camp. Son-of-a-wrek made venison chile. He requested the bread. That’s all they get from me today.
I’m kinda tired. I’ve pushed myself too much. I feel like doing nothing for awhile.
Watching Bette Davis movies on TCM.
For some reason they are making me sentimental.

Seventeen smoke free days, although earlier I would have cut a b!tch for a cigarette. My favorite TDay food is leftover stuffing and gravy (no giblets in the gravy thankyouverymuch) for breakfast the day after TDay. Ursala Kitteh is feeling better after yesterday’s tooth removal. I haven’t told her that she is going back to the V E T Firday. I made it 7 hours at work before I got wiped out and had to go home. This bronchitis stuff is kicking my (fat) butt.

As a patron…or the main course?  :o

I heard they’re making a sequel to Alive; the working title is
Second Helpings

:D
Sis said, “My mom’s floor is so clean you could eat off of it. You could eat off my floor, too; there’s so many crumbs down there you could have a whole meal.” :o

Midget, tell them to take that endoscopy & shove it up your…Oh wait a sec; that’s what they’re supposed to do.

Laundered, napped. The sun came out today.:dubious: The arm continues to heal.

Spidey, patron. that’s why I turned down the invites from the Donners in 201 to their party.

Actually, it involves putting something down my throat, and fairly deep into the digestive system, rather than getting it up the other end.

But don’t worry, I’m supposed to eventually have a colonoscopy, and threads about those seem to be a SDMB tradition. :stuck_out_tongue:

Yay! Count to 10 before you cut a b!tch(:))
One day at a time, one day at a time.
We’re pulling for you.

Alright, Dammit. My cheap-ass calendar has Thanksgiving on the 21st. I don’t get out much, so I assumed it was true.

yay, me i made an rather above average dinner tonight … we had petit sirloins au gratin potatoes herbed mixed veggies and Hawaiian style biscuits …and I pretty much used a mix of methods I found on the internet
and it beat the hell outta the hamburger helpers i usually get to make…

and that was the highlight of the day really…

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN 'Tis 41 Amurrkin out and clear with a predicted high of <snerk> 69! <snerk> and N.O.S. for the day. Today I shall lay in provisions and deal with [del]church janitor[/del] Junior Warden chores over to the church house. Sup shall be leftovers from yestiddy’s sup which was, if I may be so bold as to say, teh nummy!

WetOne congrats! Keep on keepin’ on!

Midget good luck with the endoscopy. The procedure is ick, but the drugs they give ya are good.

Now I need more caffeine and rumbly tummy wants to be fed. Then, bother of bothers, I must purtify and don appropriate bein’ about the public attire. Alas!

Happy Hump Day Y’all!

Dunno why but I could not fall asleep last night. Didn’t pass out till after 1, and woke around 4:40, so that was a fun night. Today will be a challenge.

I should have been exhausted. I had Roxy duty because her parents have a class on Tuesday nights. So we colored, and played piano, and played ukulele, and played with the Nook, and played Catch Me, and played Drop Roxy On The Sofa… and a bit after 7, I got her ready for bed, gave her some warm milk, and she was unconscious around 7:30. Lucky kid.

We shall see if the caffeine works today. Happy Wednesday!

Happy Hump Day!

It’s a cloudy 45 degrees outside. Supposed to get up to 50.

I got the pups off to daycare, filled the gas tank, and picked up my prescription.
While I was filling the tank I looked down and saw I have a screw in my tire, so getting the tire fixed is on the agenda for today. When I went around the drive thru for the prescription, somebody hadn’t closed the gate to the dumpsters and it was blocking the lane, so I had to get out to close the gate.

I hope this is not how the rest of the day is going to go.

Since today is Hump Day it is pay the bills day and put the dog bowls through the dishwasher day. I don’t know if we will be going out to lunch. Echo is getting some shots today, I’m not sure which ones, distemper is due, rabies is due next week, and she should get a lyme vaccine. However, the vet is probably not going to give all of them today. Whatever she doesn’t get today, she can get next week. The truck needs a good cleaning too. So much mud! I should take the seat covers out and wash them while the dogs are away. Echo is a mud magnet, Ripple not so much. Both of them need a bath, it’s going to be somewhat warm for the next two days, so we’ll go to the dog wash.

I think I’m going to take the morning off irk. I hate to do it, but I want to get the tire fixed asap, I don’t want to come out later to a flat.

Chilly and N.O.S. in the Boro today, expecting a beautiful midday/afternoon. Survived the Episcopal Apocolypse (say that three times!) that **swampy **warned me of last week.

Kids off to school, critters fed, becoming one with the caffeine now. Spiffing and dinner planning are today’s main goals. Big excitement.

Did laundry yesterday, took a couple of random things to The Boy, because I was on that side of town. Didn’t steal a White Claw from the open pack sitting on his porch. (When I messaged him to let him know both, he just said “yeah, it’s cool enough to leave them in the wild now.” I guess the fraternity is doing its part for the environment.)

The local 4H had a petting zoo at the Lord’s Chicken place last night, so the girls got to scritch a sheep, a couple of goats, a cow and calf, a bunny, and a chicken before we went inside to eat more chicken. The Big Girl met us there, because she can always be bribed with cute critters and God’s chicken.

Turns out that BG had, on a lark, dyed her hair blond. No bueno. (My husband’s diplomatic compliment: “No, you don’t look like a crackhead.”) BG was also broke (surprise,) so I sent Tony home with the small girls and BG and I went to the grocery store and the gas station. And I bought her a box of hair dye. And I gave her a bag of goodies that were supposed to be in her Christmas stocking, 'cause sometimes you just need a treat.

BG messaged me later with a picture of her fixed hair. Much better. And also a forwarded text from the key holder/office dude at the grocery store where we had shopped/where I usually shop: “OMG, I didn’t know that was your mom. She’s seriously my favorite customer!” Made me smile.

wet one, keep up the good work, and Rosie’s signature to all!

It’s looks like I am going to be taking off irk because I have an appointment at 10 to get my tire fixed.
I’m going to yell at my son later too, we caught a mouse and he was supposed to empty the trap. He didn’t and now the kitchen stinks.
I am so tired of his bullshit lately, everything I ask him to do he says I’ll do it later, and then he ‘forgets’.

Sahirrnee, I’m gonna be honest: mouse traps are single use/disposable in my house. I totally understand that it’s not environmentally friendly of me, but I put on a medical grade glove, pick up the trap and carcass, and put all three into a trash bag. Meeces are icky, and traps are cheap enough.

(I live in a semi-rural place, and there’s a big field next door - usually soybeans or cotton. Planting and harvest are mouse trap season at my house.)

The only time I have ever reused a “trap” was when a wee mousie managed to electrocute itself on the dryer’s pigtail connection. Hubby managed the body removal for me, which was nice enough, until he used the word “gooey” to describe the process. I took the appliance apart and sterilized the parts.

Peaches, waaay more information than I need before eating…:cool:

FCM, I didn’t sleep well last night either, went to be early (about 10pm) and when I rolled over to look at the clock thinking I’d slept most the night, it was 11:30pm. Slept on and off the whole night, so nappage is probable.

shady, sounds like a good meal. Beats my cooking talents.

Need to make myself presentable here shortly and do a couple of errands. Temps should be in the 60’s today (50F right now) and no rain due until Firday.

All y’all take care now.

After today, I just have 9 more work days. I’m ready to be done now, but I can hang in there.

Still awake, too, so there’s that.

My cat caught a mouse recently. She was chasing it all morning, probably getting more exercise than she has for the rest of the year combined. She eventually caught it (possibly more difficult because she has no claws at all - we didn’t declaw her, a previous owner did.) She ate half of it before we threw out the rest.

Peaches, we have some of the snap traps, actually a whole box of them, and we don’t reuse them. However, we have better luck with the ones the electrocute the little buggers. Safer for our fingers, too. However, they are way too expensive to throw away. All my son has to do though is open the door, dump the mouse out, and put in some more bait. We have found that dog food works a lot better than cheese and is easier. I’d do it, but I don’t know how to open the little door and I’m not going to try to figure it out while there is a mouse in there.

I hope this is the last one for a while.

No screw in my tire. I think maybe the screw was in the tread but hadn’t gone into the tire, and maybe it fell out? I know it was there.
So I took the morning off for nothing, but there is plenty to do around here.

Still haven’t decided on a menu for Sunday.
I am considering smashed potatoes https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KP9Xg92ckI4
and chocolate truffles https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BXb2kvKPgNw

I may as well plan on it being a carb overload day, and I’ll have a carb hangover the next day.
