The Asshole Test - Guys Only

I got a 16% and was also called a wuss. This despite the fact that people have called me a bitch, occasionally, before. I mean I know I have it in me. I just don’t feel the need to extend the claws all the time!

If they had a question about how many xian sites you’ve been banned from I would have done better.

Great. I just wasted 30 minutes of time reading comments, when I could have been preparing for my upcoming move.

A [Korean|Vietnamese|whatever]/American woman with a decent body but an large head and meh face who should not be legally allowed to wear makeup poses with a ricemobile, and a meme is born.

We generally don’t devote entire postings on the web to it, though.

She seems reasonably attractive on the myspace page someone linked to, where she’s kneeling barefoot with a scarf. Maybe she’s not especially attractive but she’s not ugly.

I liked the advice about not letting dogs drive cars.

Wow. That’s… impressive?

Whoops. Almost tripped over an eggshell there.

I got a 63%, though, which does seem to be more assholish than most.

She’s not terminally ugly - just wearing some hideous makeup and the setup is ridiculously hackneyed - get your tricked out import, GF in a bikini, and violent dog in pictures, and presto! You’re a cool guy.

In this digital age, pictures have lives well beyond the intended purpose.

I thought the shocked dude picture won the thread.

(13%)

I will leave the ugliness issue aside (she is), but is she blind? Those pictures are not flattering in anyone’s mind. Even if she were smoking hot (she isn’t), posing in a bikini next to a cheap rice burner will brand you as a cheap slut forever. She shouldn’t have left those photos live.

I don’t think it’s that she loves the attention. I think she’s trying to make the point that she is not going to stay silent and run hiding because some people want to shame her for no good reason.
Isn’t that letting them win?

If you’re curious about knowing who the guy is, he’s the Italian politician Massimo D’Alema.

And apparently I’m not an asshole. It was too much of a WTF? scene.

I may be extremely naive, but I could see a guy taking such pictures of his girl and his car, and thinking they were both the hottest thing. Og knows, I’d probably get the same reaction here if I posted pix of Pepper Mill in her bathing suit posing next to my car (with the cats at the wheel), but there’s zero chance of her participating in that.
So, no, I don’t find them funny at all.

I’m an asshole:

  1. I laughed at the link in the OP.

  2. I scored 71% on the asshole test.

  3. Fuck off.

Well I’m slightly an asshole, but I already knew that.

I went in confident that I wouldn’t laugh. The post that got me was the “I’m crying now” one. The rest were just amusing.

I’m sorry to say, but that woman needs to fix those eyes.
edit: Just found out that I only read page 1 of… fifty one pages!
edit the second: I stand corrected - 62 pages.
third: Fuck. I’m turning out to be a massive asshole.

Again, I see the OP as the target of this pile-on, not the girl in the photographs. It is very common for guys to make fun of one another, particularly if they are good friends. I agree that it’s not acceptable that they are doing it at the expense of this girl, who is the unwitting victim. I don’t advocate cruelty. What’s funny about it, if anything, is the irony given the OP’s expectation vs. the actual reaction he is inevitably going to get.

And yes, I laughed at that boy’s dumbass signature. Also irony. Irony is funny.

I laughed for the same reason - some guy bragging on his gf posing with a car = funny, worthy of mockery.

The pile-on the woman for being “ugly” = not funny.

Extending the pile-on to mock the woman on her myspace site = beyond pathetic.

Making fun is one thing. Being hateful and hurtful is another. I’m really not liking being in disagreement with one of my favorite posters so I think I’ll just agree to disagree and butt out of this thread.

The reactions in the linked thread are absolutely typical of the internet. One takes comfort in knowing that one would not contribute to it, only laugh at the creative image posting. For me the images are what makes it funny, not the bullying.

Edit: By images I mean the ‘chops’, not the original images, which depict a girl of average, if a little unusual looks.

But none of that is real. The OP just ganked the photos off of someone else’s site and posed as the girl’s boyfriend. There is NO irony of the OP’s expectation because the OP’s expectation was exactly what he got, that everyone would cruelly pile-on this woman. Do you think the OP of that thread expected that people would suggest that her mother should have had an abortion? Or that she should let herself get run over by a truck? Or that she should commit suicide?

There is nothing funny about this. This is cruel.

I agree with you. But we didn’t know the circumstances of the post when we first opened the thread. We all took it at face value (or at least, the less cynical among us did.) The new information changes my perception of the whole thing.

My only point is to suggest that given the OP were legitimate, it’s possible, just maybe, to find something humorous about the linked thread without being an asshole. I believe that because I laughed, and I’m not an asshole.

I’m sorry. I just really think my position has been misunderstood. If it makes you feel any better, I feel quite guilty now.

Yup, but those just passing by and looking at the thread don’t, at first, know this. They may be laughing at the supposed “boyfriend” not knowing he’s a fraud.

Those who know it is a fraud and taunt the girl for her alleged “ugliness” as a pile-on are, I think, being immature dicks.

The irony in that case is that those who taunt the loudest are the sorts of no-life losers most likely to be specimens who would be lucky to have any woman look at them, much less the women they are busy abusing.
