The Bank is serving papers on my Brother's house

They filed the foreclosure papers.
Even though Tommy got a new job.

His car was repo-ed.

He’s so upset that he won’t even pick up the phone.
He stopped replying to my texts.
I’ve tried emailing him, with a link to a Foreclosure Attorney, but I get no repoly.
He keeps trying to fight this on his own, like it was sort of stupid “test of manhood” or something.
I’ve made thousands available to him.
he hasn’t touched a nickel in weeks.
He lives in Florida–I’m in TN.
Our Sister doesn’t give a damn.
I don’t know what to do.

Do you know any of his local friends? Can you contact them to maybe see how he’s doing.

I would consider asking the local police to check up on him if you at all think he might hurt himself.

I feel bad for him. Fear of being poor and homeless can be terrible indeed.

Is there any possibility that you can go visit?

What is the status of his cancer?

StG

I do not.
He has few friends.

I am holding off on the cops, as I have a tendency to over-react.

If I knew his status, & thought he was out on the street, I would go collect him.
I only have a one-bedroom condo, & crowded, but I’d try.

Unknown.
He won’t discuss it, & may not know himself.

The actual serving may not have happened. But they have filed. Orlando has a backlog of cases months long.

Still no replies.
Yet another email sent.
I will phone later in the AM

for future reference in many cases you can ask them to show you the original loan documents you signed. It may take them a while to find them or in some cases they are never found. They cannot do anything until they find them.

As free verse goes, this is not too bad.

Could the reason that he’s not replying to phone calls, text messages, and E-mail be that the services to his home are in arrears to the point that they’ve been cut off?

It seems it is time to drive to Florida and find him.

I understand that is no small task.

Then try to convince him to set aside his pride and accept your help. You’ll find a way through together.

He emailed me late last night, & said he would phone me this weekend.

Oh thank goodness. You must be so relieved. I hope he can work things out.

That’s goodish news at least.

Bumping this because I was curious what happened.

StG

They bank served the papers.
Evictions are temporarily suspended.
He didn’t get the job, because the foreclosure turned up in the background check.

Oddly, he seems calmer now.

I’m glad he’s found peace of mind, even if it seems like he’s just avoiding facing the future.

StG

AAAaannd I just got off the phone with him, & he was as nasty, mean & $#!tty as he has ever been.
Tommy is my brother.

And he is an abusive jerk. Which may or may not have a lot to do with his unemployment.

I really do not want to share quarters with him.
But there may be no choice.
