Up and adulting and recovering from the Mass Mumper Hookers and Blow Party last night ------- don’t tell nightshadea though.
Other than that just getting ready for a non-amusement-park-amusement-park-event this weekend. All the parks will come and tell us their plans for the year and we will eat way too much good food. Much trade-bait to organize and pack.
Juliet, good luck with the doc; as for the visual disturbances, take down the picture of Doggio! :o
Speaking of Doggio, why didn’t you say you were getting together w/ Ruble, I woulda joined you. Explosion causes beer taps to flow. I, for one, don’t believe that gas was the cause* one bit.
- At least not w/o some help.
Red, ya picked up a good one.
Evenin’ all.
The weather here is unnervingly warm; two days in a row the temperature record for February has been broken. We shouldn’t be getting this sort of thing til April at least. I mean, it’s pleasant and all, just really not right.
I’ve mostly been outside in the allotment, plus checking on the bees. They seem to be OK, though the freakish weather means they’re really active but not finding much nectar.
Back to skool tomorrow, it seems like I’ve been away ages.
We have drainage!
I am thrilled.
However, we no longer have an utility sink, and the plumbing for that is going to be a big undertaking, because it is tied into the neighbor’s sink and all the plumbing is crumbling. He said if they ever have to do work over there it will be a mess because her side is so full you can barely walk through it.
Anyway, I am happy and feel like I can breathe again.
Now I have to figure out what is wrong with the new computer, it won’t play youtube videos. I get the audio, but the video is just a black box.
Always something.
“Sometimes the largest boom starts with the smallest cannonball.” And the fact that I was next to the bar with a truck full of empty growlers is pure coincidence. ;)![]()
Akiko-pup is following Kona-dog around with a toy. She feels strongly that he should play with her. He feels strongly that it’s nap time.
We have a gale warning and flash flood warnings. California - the land of extremes!
Last night we ended up going to a new pizza place, which was good. Next door was a place that served “rolled ice cream”. I thought that meant like Coldstone. Nope! They pour the ingredients, including cream rather than ice cream, onto a very cold sheet, and then scrape them out into a thin layer. When they are frozen, they scrape them up. The frozen pieces are curled when they come up, kind of like chocolate will do. Several of those into a cup, and there you go. It was really good, and fun to watch.
Well, the snow is gone, and some yahoo is dragging a flaming chariot around the sky.
I need to make myself presentable and go to the store for provisions.
That is all.
Today’s money-saving tip - call Sirius and tell them you want to cancel your service because it costs too much. They’ll cut the cost in half. You’re welcome.
Now I need to figure out what we’ll do for supper. I wish something would magically appear here.
Well, the doctor ordered more tests… and another MRI that I can’t afford. If only they had taken two more pictures when I got my last MRI. I’m hoping we’ll figure something out.
As for dinner tonight, I’m getting creative. We have left over hot dog buns. We have big ass chicken tenders. I’m making chicken dogs. Put the tender in the bun and call it a sandwich. We’ll see how well that goes over with the kiddos.
**Juliet **- cut the buns and tenders to smaller sizes and call them sliders! I bet the kids will get a kick out of tiny little sammiches!
I went to the Chaptico Deli and we’re having fried chicken, baked beans, and slaw. Easier than cooking.
Howdy Y’all! I had a major grrrrr earlier with the ice machine tech. At noon when I had not heard from him I called. He said he had a “mix up” in his schedule and won’t be able to make it today. I reminded him he said he would call and that I had been waitin’ on his call all mornin’. I further said, when you discovered the “mix up” you could have called then. Anywho, I told him we would meet tomorrow and I expect it to be done before eleven a.m. or I would find someone else. I shall call him promptly at nine in the mornin’ and remind him. Do not mess with da bear! In other news laundry got done and tacos (OLÉ!) and et up. Fart fest to follow.
ETA: First on page two! NEENER! NEENER! Spidey and Ruble.
Regrets? Of course, but they don’t keep me up at night.
The past lies quietly in fading memories while the future becomes present and slowly rolls by.
Tugig!!! Where ya been hiding, dude???
I thought about you last weekend - my mom and sis and niece and grandnephew met me and my daughter and granddaughter at Rip’s. Just recalled that the last time I was there, I lunched with you, BBBobbio, and **Spidey **- good times!
Supper was good. RoxStar had her first major crash - the side of her head on the corner of the ottoman. She’ll likely have a lump there, but she’ll survive. Boy, can she cry when she’s hurt!!!
Time to recline and work on the latest afghan.
Work has been kicking my ass. I have been waiting for something to happen for going on 6 months (I keep hearing it’s just around the corner, it’s all agreed, just waiting for final approval, etc…)
I’ll be happier once that passes. I don’t like limbo.
Otherwise nothing too special here. Both my kids now live with me, going to college. Working on the house finishing out the basement. Time consuming and expensive.
Trying to drop by every once in awhile even if I don’t have much to chat about.
I’m in Taiwan now and lived forever in Japan, so usually we say “Asian” or “East Asian.”
It probably depends on the schools in the US. Some are really bad, right? Most are reasonable.
I teach at “cram schools,” after school programs by private institutions. Parents want additional learning for their kids.
Most of the kids are pretty good. They aren’t perfect though. The problem is that not all of the kids really want to be there, or they get bored or whatever. They’re still pretty young to be in a classroom for that long studying English. Usually, we try to break things up, sing song, play some games and such.
I’m not really a big fan of Asian education. It doesn’t really promote critical thinking. Kids listen to what the teacher says and regurgitate it on the test. They do lots of homework so they do well on standardized tests, but that’s it.
TB, is teaching 25 first graders somewhat akin to herding cats?
spidey, I’m hoping the Wayne Train will stay healthy and play well for the Preds.
Juliet, maybe put some ketchup on the chicken dogs?
Welcome back 2gig!
I called Sis last night to ask for some pics of Nelson when he was a newborn-3month sized pupper and some of the rest of his family for his puppy book. I was expecting her to email them to me, but she posted them on FB and tagged me. I now have a good selection of the whole family dog.
Now to kick back in the studio and work on said book.
Evening all. Spent 2 hours passing out soccer uniforms and other chores as needed, so I’m a little tired, even with nappage during the afternoon.
2gig, long time no see!
swampy, growling at contractors worked for Sari, hope everything goes well tomorrow.
OK, back to internettin’
Chill out, dude. ![]()
