The Biden Administration: a puppy-hug in the making

To be fair, the rattlesnake was hauled off and put down.

When I said ANYONE, I meant Major, as well. Two bites in three months is not a happy dog.

Keep us updated, because that’s upsetting. And a constant fear of mine, given my penchant for climbing all around mountains and Vaya’s penchant for smelling EVERYTHING new.

I assure you he was. He’s sprawled out on the hood of my Jeep right now.

Did you read Bush’s comments today? I know it’s been said a million times before but you know things have truly gone to hell in the right wing of US politics when Bush is coming across as downright sensible and kind.

You mean this?

Yes that’s the one

More like evolution in action. The new species is pushing out the old.

My response was to this though. Bush is conservative, Republican and expressing strong anti-bigot views. Oh, and on an anti-Trump conservative podcast. And that Guardian story is about an anti-Trump Republican running for a Senate position.

So there is an answer to “where is the push-back from the “true conservatives””.

The reality is that Trump conservatives are louder and more entertaining because they are cray cray, and they also have the numbers, so the more traditional conservatives don’t get the airtime or the votes. But they are there.

He paved the road and then complains that he didn’t see where it was going.

If they can’t get the airtime and more importantly, the votes, what good are they?

Seems an odd question. I guess about as much good as any political group that is not in power.

A few years back, you could have asked the same question about the Dems; they weren’t getting the air time or the votes that Trump was getting.

Very true. Although actually if he said he didn’t have the foresight to see where the road he and other prominent Republicans were paving was going, I would tend to believe him.

Foresight wasn’t a feature of his presidency.

More bad news for Major. He’ll soon have a cat to deal with:

The Biden Administration: a kitty cuddle in the making.

As an aside, I think there’s something wrong with people who are in a position to have a pet (financial, medical, space, etc.) and yet don’t have one. Cat, dog, horse, fish, spider, whatever. There’s no excuse for a president to not have a pet.

Phew, glad you included “spider”.

It’s one way to reduce the number of evil (R) scum in both the House and the Senate…

There doesn’t seem to have ever been a First Tarantula. The only insectoid First Pet I can find were John Quincy Adams’ silkworms. Coolidge had a pygmy hippo named Billy, which was pretty cool.

Carter had a rabbit. (Probably called it Billy, too.)

After his brother?!

Well, Trump DID have a lapdog.

Trump was the lapdog.
