The Big Bang Theory, Season 10, Episode 22 (April 27, 2017) -- "The Cognition Regeneration"

I am starting this thread in anticipation of tonight’s episode.

Not a particular funny episode. Only a few chortles hither and thither.

Fatty L was annoying and whiny as usual. Everyone pretty much just being usual.

Highlights were of course Zack. He steals every scene he’s ever bean in.

Tammy-Jo was also a hoot. I would love a spin-off of The Adventures of Tammy-Jo and Zack. It would be the best TV since Supernatural.

I was expecting Zach’s fiancé to turn out to be very smart; maybe even a character we’ve seen before, like Alex.

She was the best part of the show! Who knew that Bernadette had an embarrassing hobby?

I got a kick out of Bernadette’s greyhound line. It was a somewhat surprising callback to the fact that, for reasons that escape the rest of the gang (and, probably, most of the fans), Bernie is, for some reason, physically attracted to Howard. It feels like it’s been five seasons or so since the last time they acknowledged that.

If the writers were smart they’d do this and have Zack be the Anti-Leonard and the fiance the Anti-Penny. (In the brains department.)

Well she had to have something for the talent competition part instead of just claiming all the other girls were pregnant.

I was expecting Sheldon to either already know how to juggle, or to pick it up it ridiculously quickly, but it is more in character for him to be hopeless at something physical like that. And riding a unicycle calls for the opposite approach. With juggling you start with one and work your way up; I think he should have started with three wheels and worked his way downward.

And I had no idea that there were so few sales jobs in the greater Los Angeles area. Apparently pharmaceuticals and menu printing are the only two jobs Penny has to choose from.

Yep, that’s about the size of it.

The reasons don’t escape me in the least.

And Jim Parsons can walk on stilts! I’ve tried it, and it’s not at all easy.

That looked CGI to me.

Yeah, looked CGI to me as well. I agree, Zach was the best part of the ep. Hard to believe I used to REALLY like this show, rather than just watching out of habit.

The only part I really chortled at was the end tag, when he snored and woke himself up - simply because that is EXACTLY what my wife does when lying on the couch watching TV!

But in an earlier episode, there was video of her doing a Spice Girls number at a pageant… Do the writers not watch the show???

I had the same thought about sales jobs - criminy, there are always openings for sales, judging from some of the junk mail I get.

I also agree about Zach - he always cracks me up!

Fanwank - pharmaceutical sales are very lucrative, and apparently Penny’s really good at it - “She can make a 10% chance of liver failure sound like a 90% chance of liver success!” so she’s probably making a bundle. Taking another regular sales job would mean a cut in pay, but becoming head of sales for a menu company could keep her pay around the same.

Oh, that would have been fun!

What was it that she called him? “My Jewish greyhound”?

Better than what Raj called him, “A chicken wing”.

I didn’t find it as funny as last week, and Tammy Jo creeped me out.

I found it strange that Zack has a fiance and they didn’t bother to cast anyone for it (she had an “emergency” but Zack didn’t ask.) Why bring her up at all?

I’ve been watching older episodes on TBS…where oh where did Alex go?

Looks like next week the guys’ project is shut down. Or they’ve reached a point where they have to relocate to DC.

Nothing to do with this particular episode but CBS has released aphoto shoot of Mayim Bialik in connection with her new book.

Number 4 will – never mind.

IIRC, the line was, “He’s thin and sexy, like a Jewish greyhound.” So yeah, close enough.

Re: number 7. Either it’s photoshopped, or she has had a nose job. But she’s a beauty.
