I was just thinking something similar. But have Raj have brief flings with Dr. Stephanie, Ramona Nowitzki, etc.
Melissa did a reasonable job with the ventriloquism. One of the things that always puzzled me is why Senor Wenches, Buffalo Bob, Edgar Bergen, etc. didn’t learn ventriloquism. It isn’t that hard to learn to barely move your lips.
Zack kept referring to Penny as his ex-girlfriend. I think he would be the type to say “ex-wife” instead.
I think the ventriloquism was a bit of TV trickery. It was pre-recorded playback, most likely.
I wondered about that. Some shots are close ups of just the dummy, but some show both the dummy and Melissa. You can see her lips move just a small bit on the harder sounds and that’s in sync with the lines.
She might have done a sloppy job in front of the live audience and a better voice-over inserted later. Gotta have that “real” audience reaction, you know.

That’s called acting. But there were hard Bs and Ds said, not in the ventriloquism cheat way, but clearly as proper speech; it had to have been a trick.
