I am starting this thread in anticipation of tonight’s episode.
This was pretty good. A clever idea for an episode too.
On a related note, Melissa Rauch had her baby in early December, but Bernadette probably won’t have hers for a few episodes yet. I know the bed-rest was intended to hide her baby-bump discrepancy, but now I wonder if in this episode she was post-real-baby (filmed mid-December probably) or if her scenes were all recorded earlier ahead of time.
I predict Bernie will go into labor on the day of the wedding.
Actually, I agree. Not a bad episode, and moderately clever.
I enjoyed it. Not the funniest episode by a long shot, but I did enjoy seeing Sheldon and Amy test their friends. They had spoken about human experimentation in previous episodes, I think.
It’s definitely not a new idea. Wasn’t there an episode a few seasons back where Penny and Leonard discovered that Amy had been giving them the same tests she was giving her lab monkeys?
The testing wasn’t new. Sheldon and Amy have been testing their friends for years. But testing for specific characteristics so as to see who would make the best attendants, that was new.
I thought it was pretty meh, redeemed only at the end by Penny’s sudden insight about Amy, and Amy’s reaction.
Did anyone catch Sheldon’s grammatical error? I don’t recall the exact phrasing, but it was something along the lines of: “It won’t be us making the decision. The data is.”
Sheldon would have known that it should be “the data are.”
The premise of the episode was a nice framework for each of the actors to play to the defining aspects of their characters, which I thought made for a fun time.
Also, if I’m not mistaken, nobody outside the main cast appeared in the episode.
Data being plural sailed a long time ago.
Kaley broke character at the end I think.
On the whiteboard list of names in Sheldon and Amy’s apartment, there was listed a “Georgie”. Who’s Georgie?
Sheldon’s brother, perhaps?
It’s his brother George, whom his mother was pushing for Best Man.
I was all ready to tease you about this. You were out-Sheldoning Sheldon, and then knowingly admitted this on a public forum.
But then it ocurred to me that even as you phrased it, “data” is really short for “data set” so it doesn’t work.
So be comforted, you are not more Sheldony than Sheldon is.
I thought the grammatical error was “us,” rather than “we.”
All in all, a rather fun episode.
Now that Young Sheldon is doing good, I think Sheldon’s family members will be mentioned more often.
It’s fun to watch Amy & Sheldon together. They play off each other perfectly.
And of course Leonard & Penny would be their wedding attendants.
Not that we have seen Georgie as a teenager, what current adult actor could play him on TBBT if he does attend SHAMY’s wedding?
For some reason the actor that immediately came to mind is a guy named Bryan Dattilo who is from the soap “Days of our Lives.” I think when he was in his 20s (when I last saw him) he looked like how I would imagine the kid from “Young Sheldon” would look in his 20s.
I looked up photos of Datillo and I don’t think he aged well. A lot of his looks were in his youthfulness or something?
Anyway, never mind.
I could see him growing up to become Curtis Armstrong. Or is he too old by now?
