The Bill Cosby news reminds me of another movie where I'v forgotten the name.

It would be classified as erotica. Probably French but not sure. There was a brothel where the prostitutes were always drugged to sedation. The johns ever saw the women conscious. The little bit of plot, as it were, came in where someone was attempting to identify the other and the madam was challenged to prevent the conscious meeting.

Kind of a weird thing for the Cosby situation to bring to mind, but okay. Is it Sleeping Beauty from 2011, directed by Julia Leigh?

Isn’t there a clear connection between what Cosby is reported to have done and what this movie depicts?

Depends. I don’t think there’s much like that in this movie. For one thing, the main girl is consenting throughout. Clear guidelines are set that she will not be penetrated by the men. I don’t think any of them even have any kind of sex with her. If I recall, one of them kind of drags her around the bedroom.

The movie mentioned above has a faint connection to the Japanese novel The House of the Sleeping Beauties, which is the reminiscences of an elderly patron of a specialty brothel, for old, impotent men who can only sit and watch sleeping (perhaps drugged) young women.

This was the movie I thought about when reading a Cosby news story. Ebert said that were it released 40 years earlier it might have gotten better reviews. My interests tend toward old movies. Perhaps that is why I liked it
