The Billion Dollar MMP

I forgot my phone today. It’s not a huge deal except that I use its alarm to remind me to go home. So today I need to be aware. Dammit. :stuck_out_tongue:

It’s cold and windy out there, but I got in without freezing off any appendages, so that’s a good way to start the day. I’m feeling a lot less nervous about FCD’s impending surgery - being day surgery and a 2-hour procedure is lots better than when they hacked his back way open and he was hospitalized for 3 days. His big worry is how soon can he get back to work.

No pink notes on my desk this morning - but I do have tons to do leftover from yesterday. I wish I had a better breakfast - much as I like cottage cheese and pears, it’s just not doing it for me. Oh well…

Happy Wednesday!

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 35 Amurrkin out and clear with a predicted high of 58 and sunny for the day. Today I am headin’ to the east forty, the southeast forty, and the near south forty. Sounds like a lot of travelin’ but the whole route from start to finish will be about a hunnert miles. Tomorrow it’s over to the west forty and Firday is irk from home day. Plus Moanday is a holiday. YAY!

OK, that’s all I got for now. I need more caffeine and rumbly tummy demands sustenance. Then, alas and alack, irk purtification must commence. Another day in paradise.

Happy Hump Day Y’all!

The guy who was hired the same time as I was is not too bright, despite having been a drafter for a lot of years. And on top of that, his mantra is “SolidWorks is so much better!!” Yes, I prefer SolidWorks, too, but this organization uses Creo and they’re not going to change.

But, I swear, every.freekin.day he whines about not being able to use his favorite software. Big whiny baby…

Blurf

Up, caffeinated, off to work.

I’m drinking less coffee today than yesterday because I overdid it yesterday.

When you’re me, there is indeed a such thing as too much excess.

“All things in moderation, including moderation”

Hump Day!!
FCM, my best to FCD. Never had back surgery, but sounds like they have the procedure down and minimal invasiveness this time.

gotti, best wishes and I concur, that vet sounds like the type of person I’d take my pet to (if I had one).

swampy, how did OYKW like Ruth Chris? I think their steaks are high-quality, but the tab is also high-quality…expensive, it is.

I had a meeting with my Edward D. Jones representative, who manages my mutual funds and annunity. Most of my retirement will be with the Government, but I do have some funds with them that need management. I walked in with a plan and walked out thinking “hmmm, maybe I need to do this instead…”, which is par for the course. Asked for some more information on a couple of options and set up getting withdrawals from my IRA (that turned out to be the simplest thing I did). All in all a satisfactory meeting.

They got two good days of irk out of me this week, so we’ll see how this day goes. Got to start preparing for a major review in March with my customer, so I need to bring up last years’ charts and start updating and adding…maybe Thorsday.

Otherwise, dark, cool (40’s F) and generally blurfy.

Everything in excess! When living life, take big bites! Moderation is for Monks. _R.A. Heinlein.

Happy Hump Day!

I almost overslept today.

It’s a sunny but frigid 16 degrees outside. I hope it warms up a bit more before I have to go out tonight. It’s supposed to get up to 26, then the low tonight is 29 with it in the 40s tomorrow. Weird weather.

I’ve got a big blurf and I need some food.

Up long enough to [del]shove[/del] assist the kiddos off to school, then I shall return to bed. Stoopid cold/flu (is that a “clu” or a “flold”).

Mooommm can you set a reminder or alarm on your computer? Maybe schedule your departure time as an appointment?

It’s raining here. Fits my mood and need for nappage.

BLURF At my second home which is irk, of course. I don’t really have too much of anything to do. There is stuff I don’t want to do. I have a conference call with Millington at 1600 which is kinda late for that but oh well.

The weather here has been dreary and raining off and on. The wind is blowing and it’s about 67F. It is affecting business in a not good way.

I am about to make a trip to the pubic store for some fruit and other stuff. craving fruit.

I dropped Ophie at the vet’s this morning, she was very well-behaved while they had a look at her lumpy neck and they were fairly sure she wouldn’t need any sedation. By the time I’d got to work, they had phoned with some good news.

The vet stuck a needle into the lump to try and get some cells out for testing and they got rather a lot of goo instead. There was a bit of grainy material as well so that’s going off to the lab to be tested but they are reasonably confident that it is nothing to be worried about.

I have to pick her up on the way home tonight although I suspect she’s spent the day being fussed and admired by all the nurses.

Gotti, my vet sent us a card when we lost Orly and arranged for us to go and collect her remains when they came back from the pet crematorium at a time when it was quiet and there wouldn’t be anyone else around in the surgery. Inside the card was a packet of Forget-Me-Not seeds, a very nice touch as we planted them in the garden and have a little corner to remind us of a beloved pet.

Awake and all the usual crap. And for some reason I’m thinking “what ever happened to Anita Bryant”. I may have to Google a few articles.

Unfortunately, the computer that I use most doesn’t have that option. Outlook is the online version and along with timing out frequently, it doesn’t have an appointment alarm. The computer that does have the alarm doesn’t have the software I need, so I can’t use it. And since I’ve got a KVM, I get one or the other but not both. It’s a pain.

When I was warming my soup, there was a big box of beer cups in the break room - the kind with flashing lights in the base. One was sitting by the microwave flashing. No explanation as to whether they’re for sale or for takesies. Very weird.

Another busy day with many frustrations. Things that should be easy - like inserting weld symbols - aren’t. I’ve resisted asking for help because I can usually find what I need in the on-line reference guide. But not today. Woe is me.

At least it’s lunch time, so I get a break!

We have snow. Sah-son said it all melted but I just put the dog out and the ground is white.

He is almost out of food and juice, so we’ll go grocery shopping tomorrow. It’s supposed to be a bit warmer so that will be good.

I need to help him figure out why his keyboarding class software isn’t working. Technically he knows more about computers than I do, but I have more patience.

First though, some lunch, which is heating up in the microwave. Chunky sirloin burger, because I’m too hungry to wait for chicken to bake.

I dunno, my internal clock tells me when it’s time to go; though frequently, that before I even get in.

No pink slips on your desk is a good thing!

The way I first read that, it was too much TMI for even Swampy.

Long day…

CLEAR!

::ZZZZZTT::

::Checks pulse::

There, the MMP has been revived.
That & I forgot part of my lunch, I only brought the entree. I could go to the cafeteria & buy a salad to go with it, but that’s in the next building & it’s freakin’ cold out. Ended up getting the special (balsamic chicken tit, polenta, & broccoli) & I also got a side of waffle fries.
Now I’m doing some co-ed & waiting for quit o’clock.

The MMP has been quiet this week. Guess we’re all busy.

I have reached the “use an entire box of Kleenex” of my flold. Took some Sudafed too, and I’m still stuffed up with aching sinuses. I also pulled a muscle in my back blowing my nose. BLURF!

Off to get coffee and a heating pad.
