So is Vaughn slipping Ryan compound V or is he the first “born” soup? I’m absolutely loving Homelander this season - he’s extra evil and all bitter.
That was not the reaction I expected from Homelander at finding someone that was a match for him.
With the two of them together they’ll be pretty much indestructible.
The Stormfront / A-Train conversation was definitely uncomfortable. I wonder if she’ll ever go into overt racism leading Vought to order Homelander to take her out (and will Homelander simply refuse and try to take Vought in a coup).
I’m hoping to see Starlight take out Stormfront.
Stormfront is more powerful, but she seems to be primarily electricity-based. Starlight, on the other hand, drains electricity to power her light powers.
What was that phone call between stormfront and the guy at the hospital about? I don’t know what they were referencing.
Also I don’t get why homelander doesn’t just overthrow the government and make himself dictator. Its not like anyone can stop him. He seems like hes about to get really sick of having to beg for approval from people he holds in contempt.
Clearly he is on that path. They’re just showing how he gets to that point.
So is Maeve just planning to use The Deep as bait somehow? He’s the biggest fuckup on the show and she has to know it. He can’t possibly help against Homelander. He can’t even handle normals.
And eventually, cetaceans aren’t going to want to risk working with him any more.
I mean I know it makes me a bad person to say so, but those two deaths were HILARIOUS.
Because he needs people to like him, even as he has utter contempt for them. And he gets very angry at people who don’t like him.
Exactly. He thinks of himself as a god and like those mythic gods he wants to be worshipped, he wants prayers of praise to his name.
Also: he’s just not well-equipped, mentally, for dictatorship. He doesn’t know enough or understand enough to order people around at that kind of scale; he’s basically a stunted 9 year old boy in an adult superhero body.
Well that was a fantastic and terrifying reveal. Considering Mr. Edgar is a black man, I’m guessing he’s not stabilizing V for the Nazi dreams of Frederick Vought.
If the one supe, Cindy, could crush all the doors and let everyone out, why didn’t she do that to her door a long time ago?
I thought that too. maybe she has to physically see something to affect it. like how night crawler can only teleport to places he can see.
According to Lamplighter it sounds like they regularly keep her doped up.
The series has been great so far but it has occurred to me that it’s all heading for a clichéed showdown. At some point either Homelander has to be destroyed or he subjugates the world. So, that’s kind of meh.
Thanks, yeah, now that you said it, I remember that. Of course, now it seems like a confluence of two situations - 1. The doctor not doping her correctly and 2. Lamplighter melting a hole in her door. I could ask, if she wasn’t properly doped, why didn’t she crumple the door before Lamplighter melted it, but. . .I guess she was kept doped so long she might not have realized that her dose was too small that time, until the door melted and she had a good reason to try her powers.
Though there is all those hints being dropped that Compound V is being spread far more widely. There is a chance that Homeland and Co. meet their match in another team (maybe made up of “Super Terrorists”).
Stormfront’s origin was telegraphed. The only bit that throws off the scent was her childhood favorite book being Pippi Longstockings. Maybe she read it to her daughter?
Homelander doesn’t need an army of supes. He could just kill any leader or entire government that didn’t do what he says. The premise is dumb. Maybe she believes it but yeah Edgar is using her.
Stormfront didn’t just find Homelander. Vought created him and she was likely part of thatI understand that in the comics Homelander was a clone of Stormfront who is male? Suggests that the female version is his mom. Twisted enough to be played that way especially with his mother issues and milk fixation.
Maeve has not thought out her plan too well.
