I wonder why they picked Montpelier for the TNT twins home. While it is the state capital it’s so tiny you can drive right through it without noticing - they should have used one of the “major” cities like Brattleboro or Burlington.
There was some symbolism in the way A-Train killed Blue Hawk, right? Weren’t dragging deaths one of the ways lynch mobs used to kill their victims?
I’m no expert, but I do recall reading that also. That part didn’t occur to me watching the show, but I think you’re probably right.
Well it seemed like the house was somewhat in a more rural or ex-urb area. There was a lot of space around the house. Perhaps the smaller town was the point (them being in Vermont already made it seem as if they were in a smaller area).
You can get as rural as you like with a 10 minute drive from either Burlington or Brattleboro as well. They had a paved road and trash pickup, so it was likely a regular suburb or even part of Montpelier itself. (Of course, it was probably filmed in a suburb of Toronto.)
ETA: It was amusing how both MM and Butcher commented that Frenchie would be heartbroken that he missed Herogasm.
I love that since the start of the show, there’s been maybe 2 or 3 episodes where “The Seven” actually had 7 members.
There is a hilarious Supernatural easter egg in 3x07. Hats off for the castor of this season.
If Soldier Boy and Homelander make common cause, I can’t see how everyone else wouldn’t be fucked
The way this season is going it seems like it should be the final season. After all this if Homelander survives the season then this has all been a waste of time. They would just be stretching out the story for the purpose of keeping the show going.
But if they succeed in killing Homelander, then that is the end of the story.
My prediction: Homelander ends the season alive but depowered.
I expect that Homelander will have some unresolved issues with his dad, Soldier Boy, and Soldier Boy is an even bigger asshole than Homelander so that family counseling session will not go well. Hopefully Butcher, Homeland, and Soldier Boy all end up dead. I’m not all that thrilled with Starlight either, not a very good character and how dumb is that girl suppose to be anyway? The Deep has to die a horrible death, or else be sent to work a special exhibit at Marineland instead of innocent dolphins and orcas.
What’s your issue with Starlight? I think she’s been as close to a “good guy” character as the show has had.
Soldier Boy being Homelander’s father (assuming it’s true) is a fantastic twist. Definitely seems like I should have seen it coming in retrospect, although I didn’t.
(Although if supes were created by compound V in the first place, then why would the genetics matter? Although I guess you could argue that the important genetic component is not “has powers” but “how powerful the powers are”. Like V will give anyone powers, but some people it gives lame-ass powers to, but Soldier Boy it gave a TON of powers, so then Vought mixed his genes with some suepr-strong woman supe, and bam, Homelander.)
Overall, I think this show has always been very good, and this season is definitely the best one yet.
Sweet character with morals yes. Boring, dumb character also, yes. She has chosen the right path but they don’t give her much to do. Finally, in the finale, she could have a crucial role, but she’s otherwise depicted as weak and incapable.
Just finished Season 2…and apparently Maeve’s real power is to show up our of nowhere?
Homelander is far worse. Soldier Boy’s at least semi-human, if a vicious bully.
And why is Homelander hesitant to rape Maeve? He had no issues forcing Becca. Not at all saying he should of course, just when did he start getting “squeamish”?
You could argue the other way: Soldier Boy and Homelander both go around killing people they don’t like, but Homelander has a tiny bit of restraint because he cares a little about what other people think about him.
He wants her eggs to produce offspring, he’s not motivated by sex in this case, and he wouldn’t trust her to be the caregiver for those eggs.
Also, @hogarth has it right, Homelander desires the popularity he once enjoyed, Soldier Boy is riding the psycho train, seeking revenge.
Homelander is a Super-racist. That is, he literally thinks that Supes are a superior species to normal humans. He won’t rape Maeve because, even though he disagrees with her, he sees her as one of his own. But the humans? Screw them, they’re not worth caring about their feelings.
Deep tries to talk Cassandra into a threesome
I loved the little surreal cartoon dementia break for Black Noir. Very surprising.
I’m serious tired of The Deep and he adds nothing.
