I wouldn’t mind seeing the gold you send our way going into the g-bank so we can tab up and still have plenty of gold left for other things. It would make room for the other mats that we could all use while leveling up. And when you come back, we would definitely help you get back on your feet again. Think of it as a trust account.
I’ve calculated the full amount of mats to get the pvp ornate set = 97 Elementium Bars and 80 Volatile Waters.
I can make the purchase for the set if you want to pursue the rest of the set although I might need some time to get the extra mats which totals out to 60 Elementium Bars, 4 Hardened Elementium Bars, and 15 Pyrium Bars. But I wouldn’t mind doing it just to get towards the goal of having all plans available for the rest of the guild since I seem to be the only maxed out and active Blacksmith in the guild.
Not sure if you know this (or for any other Ret Pallies out there), there was a major change in stat weights for us which pretty much makes haste our worst stat since 4.0.6 came out. Check out Elitist Jerk’s 4.0.6 Ret Pally thread…under Stat Weights. Then check the priority list under Reforging. And if you already done this, my apologies…I myself discovered this over the weekend.
Thanks to Yeti for helping me out with the ‘Fistful of Love’ achievement. I didn’t realize creating a new gnome would take so long. I’m not sure what’s going to be the most difficult achievement left for this one. Probably the grind of getting Lovely Charms. I ran GB and only got 2 charms the entire run. Of course I’m going to keep needing on the bouquet until I get one. (stupid RNG:p )
Do you still only get Lovely Charms if you make the killing blow? I seem to remember that being a problem for my healer priest waaay back when I did it.
IIRC, that’s no longer the case, and everyone on the mob’s threat list, including healers, should get one when it drops. I don’t know why the drops seem so rare in dungeons.
I found that the whatchamajigger heroes in Icecrown, the ones that bunch up like 8 at once, are great for farming Lovely Charms. I got about 2 per group on average.
BTW, for anyone still farming for the bouquet, in case you didn’t know, you can get them from reg Blackrock (which I just farmed until I won the RNG).
I just wanted to say again thanks to Yeti for the new bracers and to Tom Scud for the Tattoed Eye. I can’t wait to pop into a heroic tonight to try them out.
Bumping to see who will be around for guild night. Keyne has officially run out of things to spend JP on (the Heroic drops look better in most slots), other than building an off-spec set which is probably what I’ll do now. Because we need more ret pallies in the guild!
I’ll be on tonight. I still need to get the bouquet of roses for Makig - I tried soloing Corla in BRC on normal but couldn’t quite pull it off. If anyone else needs it, I’d be willing to chain run the start of BRC a few times so we can all get it…
I’m in for tonight. Hopefully I won’t be a fail boomkin like I was a fail healer in Stonecore this morning. No matter how much I tried, I couldn’t seem to get my DoT to reflect back on me. This, coupled with a tank who didn’t know how to run/strafe from Ground Slam/Shatter, led to about 6 wipes before I apologized for fail healing and dropped.
Anyone have any strats for getting that damned dot on me?
Ozruk has an ability called Paralyze. If he hits you with it (and he will), you’re frozen in place, unable to move or cast for…8 seconds or so. The only way to break it is to take damage. If you are a melee, that’s not a huge deal, since you were probably melee hitting him when he had Elementium Spike Shield up, resulting in a dot, which breaks paralyze when it ticks. The tricky part comes in for ranged. He casts something called Elementium Bulwark, at which point you need to hit him with a DoT to reflect on yourself. This then breaks his paralyze on ranged when it ticks, allowing you to move (if you were within range of his Shatter ability) and cast heals/damage spells again. The problem for me seems to be that even though I throw a DoT out on him when DBM warns me he has Elementium Bulwark up, half the time, the DoT doesn’t reflect onto me. I don’t know if it is just bad luck since I have no hit as a healer or if I’m doing something wrong, but the only time I’m having luck hitting him is if I cast the dot literally within a second or two of the DBM warning…which is usually when I’m already casting a heal on the tank. Not landing the dot means I’m stuck for the full 8 seconds, which usually results in damage to the whole group, which I now have only a few seconds to recover from before I have to try to hit him again with another DoT. It’s just a very frustrating mechanic for me.
Judgment does a little damage and provides a buff but I don’t think it has a DoT component, at least none that I’ve ever noticed. Once again I am frustrated by my employer’s internet filter preventing me from looking anything up.
ETA: I just thought of Consecration - maybe that would work; you’d still have to get fairly close.
Jay, what class was the tank? The only time I’ve heard of people having problems is if either (a) the tank is a Warrior and is slamming the reflect shield off or (b) someone is dispelling the shield before the DoT ticks.
Hunters have to melee or be dispelled.
Paladins can Judge during Spike Shield - it causes the bleed effect (it counts as a melee attack).
The tank was a Paladin, though we did have a Mage in the group, and the warlock in the group did accuse him of Spell Stealing, if it’s even possible to spellsteal it.
Needless to say, I moved my DBM warnings closer to my healing frames, so I’m hoping in the future I’ll see the warning faster and get the dot in more quickly.
