Deathpiper’s my alt – I started him mainly because I wanted to see how Kalimdor and Eastern Kingdom zones and quest lines had changed after Cataclysm launched, and especially because I’d heard good things about how the Undead quest lines had been changed (and it was true!).
Bogged down a little bit once he hit Outlands, since I’ve done that several times before, but I’ll keep plugging away with him. Of course, he’s a long way from being ready to run any end-game content, plus he almost never (ok, never) runs his secondary Prot spec. I suppose I should try spending a little more time on him.
With my shaman alt, Strongbird, Deathpiper and Yeti’s alt (Destroyercon?) we almost have a full Outland dungeon party in the 65-67 range. We should try to get together and get some of the guild dungeon achievements.
I’m in. It’s been forever since I used my Warrior though. I tried to set up my action bars yesterday, (as fury), still need to have a test run as a tank.

Just a guild request:
We are running short on inferno rubies for the +40 STR, INT and AGI gem cuts. We burn through this gem the most, that is why it’s still pretty high (~100g each in AH). So I am asking for some help from miners and herbalists for Carnelian gems and Heartblossoms so an Alchemist can transmute them into Inferno Rubies (1 IR = 3 Carn. + 3 Heart.). If you get a enough to donate to the Gbank, please put some stacks in the vault so we can have a steady stream of mats for the +40 cuts which anyone could use. I tend to check daily and refill those gems when someone uses them…they are the most popular cuts that we use.
I also added weapon chains and shield spikes as well as the belt buckles for those that need them…do not hesitate to take one when you need it.
Thanks Yeti. I have over 30 Heartblossoms in my bags, so I’ll whip up some rubies tonight. Especially since Keyne has been using them for both of his specs.
In other news…I (my ret pally) soloed Tank (the shark in BH) by an accidental aggro. He kinda snuck up on me (even quieter than that blasted Fel Reaver in Outland) and I unloaded all my cooldowns on him and survived!
I happen to be questing in Deepholm right now, so I’m sure I’ll trip across a whole lot of Heartblossoms. I’m fairly well set on inks for Inscription right now so my personal need is low. You’ll see a few stacks show up tonight, guaranteed. Nahren is also a Miner, so I should find some Carnelians too.
Obsidium Ore is probably going to be your best source of Carnelians to transmute. I’m not sure what the economy is like for gems on Cairne, but if the ore is cheap enough, it can be worth a JC’s while to Prospect a lot of it, hang on to the Jasper, Zephyrite, and Nightstones to sell on the days when those are the JC daily, and then either sell or cut and vendor the Hessonite and Alicite.
Last night I used the Carnelians that Yeti sent me along with my stash of Heartblossoms and created 7 inf. rubies and dropped them in the vault. To make room I took one of the cut rubies for myself, the +Str for my ret set.
I dropped the 4 Heartblossoms I had in my bank into the guild vault - a small number considering that there were 3 full and 1 partial stack already sitting there (probably Skammer’s).
Looks like we’ve got enough to create a bunch of Inf. rubies, if we can get the Carnelians.
Yeah, obsidium ore is the best source, although at times I’ve noticed elementium ore in the AH is cheaper than obsidium ore on some days and usually in the late afternoon/early evening hours. But since the ratio is 4:3 carnelians when comparing obsidium:elementium, I know now to compare that the prices need to be inverse (eg - 40g:30g for obsidium:elementium) for a break-even point. It might have happened on one occasion where I saw elementium going for 30g while obsidium went for 40g a stack.
Since we have the inferno ruby machine up and running, I’m going to make 3 more spaces to double up on the availability of the +40 STR, INT and AGI cuts. Also, I will start prospecting more obsidium ore for the carnelians and put the carnelians back in the vault for the alchemists to mute…I’ll start on those 5 or 6 stacks of obsidium in the bank now and maybe if folks have some obsidium ore to spare, to refill the vault space to keep feeding the machine.
Also, feel free to ask me for any cut that you may need…I have the tokens from grinding the dailies on a daily basis.

Yeah, the higher levels of ore are sometimes even cheaper–partially because of the weird way Blizzard set up gem vendor prices this expansion. The Uncommon gems vendor for more than the Rare ones (cut Uncommon is 9g, cut Rare is only 3g75s).
Woohoo! That thing is unbelievably handy during guild raids. No longer do you have to remember to swing by the bank to stock up on food, flasks, etc. just in case someone forgets theirs–just pop up a chest and grab what you need. (Note, too, that the cooldown is per person, so in a 10-man raid you have 10 separate CDs!)
That will also be nice for transferring items between guild mates - you no longer have to meet up in person or wait for the mail, just instantly transfer items via the vault.
There’s a guild perk (I forget what level) that allows for instant mail between guildmates, too.
Now that you mention that, I remember seeing that perk somewhere. We don’t have it yet though.
G-Mail is at level 17. We are at level 11; Our next achievement is Mr. Popularity (10% more rep per kill/quest) at level 12.
