Yeah, our grump of a replacement healer and Yeti helped get him down. A INT/SPI mace dropped…here it is: Amani Scepter of Rites. It was a good run, even if it went a little slow. But I got a bunch of justice points, so that’s good.
That’s the mace I’m already using, so no harm there. I hated to miss out on the VPs though.
Same here - I’m sorry I had to bail as well, but it was getting close to midnight for me, and with work in the morning I couldn’t really stay online any longer.
That last boss fight was so frustrating for me…it seems that once the large cat focuses on you, you’re dead no matter what you try. Each time in our three wipes things seemed to be going OK, then suddenly the large cat was clawing at me, and my health would drop from nearly full to zero before I could do anything.
I even switched to my protection spec/tanking gear for the third try; I can still do reasonable DPS, and it gave me another 30K HP for the fight. Didn’t make a damn bit of difference; he started clawing on me, and I dropped from > 160K to 0 HP in just a few seconds.
Is there some mechanic for the fight that I’m unaware of? There’s got to be some way to avoid that (almost) one-shot death.

I did some taunting, but not immediately.
The healer was a little skittish for some reason, but we shut him up once the fight got going. I missed out on the VP too since I was an add-on rather than a random, but I was more than happy to finish the dungeon for my guildies.
Now, my PvP gear is looking pretty sweet since my Ilvl is 372 now, just need a little help on enchanting my sword, cape and gloves, and I should be able to swing with the best of them.
Also, Skammer, I looked again for the PvP Healer addon that you are using and the only one that shows up is Healers Have To Die…I don’t see any Healers Must Die.
I can’t check right now but that must be it - sorry I misremembered the name. It’s really nice to have in BGs and especially Tol Barad where people aren’t always good about protecting healers.
I bought the HP head enchant yesterday, so my Resil broke 4k :). If we can team up for some more Arenas I’ll be able to improve that with some Conquest gear.
Ok…been using HHTD since yesterday…very nice addon for a button masher like me! At least my mashing will be on the right toon from here on out.
I’m almost done maxing out my gear (a season 10 to replace a season 9 armor is all I have left to do) with honor points…besides an occasional head or shoulder enchant, I’m not sure they are good for anything else unless I am missing a vendor with something better than 371 gear or a conversion to some other point system. It would be cool to trade them in for Conquest Points, even if it was 10 for 1 exchange rate. Otherwise, arenas are the next logical step for me… and guild achieves.
If any of you guys are in other guilds and need a hand (mpds), check and see if I’m on. I may not know all the fights, but I think I can learn them quickly.
I know you can convert Justice Points to Honor Points and I think you can do the opposite. There’s probably not much you need that you can buy with JPs though either, except maybe maelstrom crystals. And for all I know you can buy the crystals with HPs directly. After the shoulder enchant my HPs are about worthless too.
Oh – do you have all the PvP mounts? Those are 2k HP each.

Maelstrom Crystals are 100-120g each on Cairne now, I guess enchanters can get the cheapest epic (I think it was 73g) from FL dailies and d/e them. Any enchanters on Cairne that can do that now? I don’t mind mailing 1500g to get a stack of Maelstroms for future use!
can you d/e the stuff you buy in Hyjal? I wish I had thought of that earlier.
Just tried it, buying Globe of Moonlight from the moonwell vendor and trying to d/e it. You can’t.
Yup. I think they do that because it would be too easy to load up on the high-level enchanting mats that way, since there’s no other way to purchase blues and purples at “vendor prices”.
I hardly ever PvP, but I had a big stack of Justice Points, so I converted them into Honor Points, and used them to purchase a couple of the season 10 armor pieces. Figure I’ll keep doing that with JPs, since I can’t think of anything else to do with 'em. All of my DPS and Tank gear is already level 346 (or higher, in most cases), so there’s nothing else the JP vendors have that I want to purchase.
Not even worth buying Heirloom gear with them, since most Cataclysm quest reward gear is far, far better. My level 82 hunter has an heirloom bow and heirloom mail chestpiece just sitting in her bags, since the gear she got early on in Mount Hyjal put it to shame.
I recently got two maelstrom crystals from DEing season 10 vicious PVP gear (head and chest piece to be exact). I believe the pieces were cheaper than the cost of the crystals in honor. Not sure if it’s 100% chance though or if I got lucky.
Hmmmm…then maybe I picked those 7 Maelstroms for a great price then…
I think I just figured out what I’m going to do with Kene’s extra HPs, then. There are still enchants I haven’t purchased because I didn’t have the crystals.
You can buy T11-level epics with JP now … 358 ilevel i think? All the VP gear is 378/T12 now. You may have to scroll past a few pages of 346 gear to see it.
I was able to buy an S9 wand for 700 HP and d/e it into a crystal. That means I could get about 5 crystals for the cost of buying one with HPs directly.

If people were dying to the last boss in cat form, that’s the tank’s fault. As soon as the boss switches targets, the tank *needs *to taunt him back immediately–*and *probably blow a cooldown. Depending on your DPS, you may need to arrange for external CDs for the tank (e.g., Pain Suppression from a Disc Priest) to get through all of these high-damage moments.
The drop is cost is mainly due to all of the ZA/ZG gear that’s getting DE’d, not to DE’d vendor-purchased items.
