I’m real sorry I couldn’t stick around, but once it hits 11:30 my time, I start feeling (internal) pressure to log off WoW and go to sleep - gotta work the next day! But man, I’m sorry to miss out on those VPs.
On the plus side, the Brewfest Kodo dropped for Kalathan on the Direbrew run I tanked before the guild runs, so she’s gotten both the Ram and the Kodo this week. Probably not much point in continuing to run Direbrew any more. Now, I want the Hallow’s end festival to start, so she can try for the Headless Horseman’s mount!
For those who missed last night - although we had 2 tanks and 2 heals at go time, we had not quite a quorum for another FL raid so Kal gladly bowed out and the rest of us ran ZA. I think we had a couple of deaths but I don’t recall wiping at all, did we? I don’t get to pve much on Kene so he was able to pick up nice shoulders and the mace to replace blue gear in those slots.
It was me that died twice in our run I think…but we did blow right through that thing and picked up the Hex Mix achieve. Leogon (CaptainC) did pretty good on his initial run through ZG.
I was so happy to get 140VP, that I queued up 3 more times on ZA/ZG and got another 420.
Can anyone recommend a guide to Warlock gear by chance? I’d hate to invest a ton of time into Valor gear if I can get better with the same amount of investment.
Also, glad to be aboard! Sorry it took so long to hit 85, leveling takes longer than I remember. Regardless, it’s good to be playing with competent folks again.
so long? From my perspective it looks like it took you about a week. But it’s nice to have another 85 who’s on regularly, especially for guild events. Sorry I can’t help you with Warlock strategy though.
On another note, isn’t there someone in our guild who has the Vial of Sands recipe from archealogy? I’ve given up on digging it up for myself but I’ve got enough cash to pull the mats together if someone can combine them for me.
Yup, the first two went smooth without any wipes…the third one took awhile to get a competent group together, and by then I figured that I couldn’t have had any better RPG* luck than the previous 3 runs…so I quit while I was ahead.
Captain_C, My favorite site for gear is still askmrrobot Select your character and it’ll tell you your BiS and if you select Drop Location, you can see what to run to get the gear you need. I always check out the “…” button by each slot to see a list of items.
But I don’t use the optimizer from there, I prefer the optimizer from wowreforge It gives you more options and tells you how much a reforging will cost.
Don’t know how many folks are available tonight, but I did sent out a mass invite for a guild event at 9:00. It’d be nice to do FL again even if we have to pug a few spots; barring that we could run ZG/ZA.
I was thinking about taking some of the herbs in the guild vault and creating stacks of flasks for us. That gets us closer to being able to make cauldrons (although still a long way off) and people will be able to use them for guild runs, instead of using their own supply.
I should be there tonight, but I had gotten into a PUG for FL and killed Shannox, and our group quit after four attempts on Beth. I don’t know if I could jump on after you guys kill Shannox (never been in this situation before).
Skammer…make as many flasks as you want…Destroyercon is a miner/herbalist which is great for farming…I may hop on here at work and start up the harvesting…
Also, should we also remove those lower level inscription cards from the Guild Vault to make room for more herbs and flasks? I think it would be a good idea.
I went ahead and made a bunch of flasks for us last night, mostly the ones for Agility, Strength, Int, and Armor but also a couple for Spirit. Don’t be shy about using them for guild runs, especially if we get back to raiding. It’d be nice to be able to craft Cauldrons but we need to craft about 750 more flasks first. At least it’s my specialization, so we did get a couple of free ones out of it.
I was looking at some of our other guild achievements and decided to try to get us a couple more exalted reputations, so on Kene I’ve been grinding out Gadgetzan/Booty Bay/Everlook/Ratchet rep by killing pirates in Tanaris. Once I get to Revered I’ll hit those cities and see if there are any low-level quests I can pick up to help speed the climb to Exalted. If anyone ever wants to join me let me know.

Though we still need about 5k fish. Hmm. I’ve already agreed with myself to do the Fireland Dailies again on Moobird, now I’m considering maxing out my fishing too?! I must be a glutton
Had 7 show up last night. Had a bit of fun last night running a couple z-dungeons. Started with Keyne, Yeti, Leogon, Kalathan and me. We got 2 hostages rescued before the timer. After we finished we lost 3 to the hour and Makig joined in on his Shammy for the other z-dungeon. That one was Yeti, Oni, Leogon and me + a PuG hunter (and when he dropped group - another hunter) Went pretty smooth - a few wipes.
But now I’ve got enough JP and VP for a couple items. So time to buy some stuff!
My guild is in need of 2 to finish off Firelands tonight. (We got Heroic Shannox and Alysrazor, but we’ll go normal the rest of the way - maybe a few attempts at H-Baleroc)
Post if you want me to offer you up. It’s a good group. Loot is need/greed. And we use Vent.
Looks like with the paladin, shaman and druid we have, we can handle 2 of any role. PM me if you want to join tonight. It’s7-9 PM Pacific Time (6:45 showup-time). I’m sure they’ll have some restrictions for gear, but with the FL nerfs it shouldn’t be too high.
