Ooh, ooh, me! Friday nights are the best night of the week for me to raid, and 9-11 is perfect. I can heal (pally) or rdps (spriest) as needed, although the pally’s gear is better.
I too am interested although it might be a little iffy for me on a Friday night 7pm start time PST…sometimes we eat out on Friday nights and it might go beyond 7:00, but I probably could make it more than half the time. Usually Skammer and I have some sort of telepathy going on when it comes to Friday night Arena beatdowns, but maybe we could put that off later in the night.
Yeticalayla - ilvl380 Ret Pally.
By the way, my parents are in town this week so I responded as ‘tentative’ for tonight. Usually they watch TV in the evenings so I’ll likely be on, but I can’t commit ahead of time.
…although I just realized I am having at least a dozen relatives over for the entire TG weekend…I might be on spotty at best…
Single word that helps speed up things…
Wine.
I could probably be on that time Fridays. It’s 10-12 our time (east coast time), and I’d worry about ignoring my wife, but she’s usually in bed asleep by then (or reading and about to fall asleep). As long as I’m on the headset in the other room and not keeping her up with WoW noises, she should be fine with it.
Well that was fun! We had 6 of us:
Moobird
Onikyoushi
Kalathan
Yeticalayla
Blusmoke (lvl 80)
(Oh shoot, one other Pally, who was it? Sorry!)
We ran through the Battle for Mount Hyjal like a hot knife through butter. All in all a much more fun time than yet-another Z-dungeon. I didn’t’ even feel the mechanics of it. Was there a damaging ice-block somewhere in there? And we got to see Mount Hyjal before the Cataclysm! And Thrall!
Too bad we didn’t decide to do this earlier. There are so many raids to have fun with.
Depending on attendance next week we should do another…any requests?
With 4.3 presumably dropping next week, we’ll be on to the 3 new 5-mans. Check em out
I passed the names of the few of you on to Khaal of <KA> he should most likely be inviting you to the run for next weekend. (if 4.3 drops) Feel free to hit him up if you have questions. Or go through me…either way.
Absolutely. I had a blast. Now I just need to work on Makig’s heal spec so he can get some tasty achievements too :).
As for next week’s request… I’d say another BC raid. TK has the tiny chance of dropping the mount, so I’d vote for checking out Kael. Or we could hit a raid with cool looking drops for people excited about transmogrifying.
Sorry I missed last night, but I’d be down for any of the BC raids next week. Preferably as DPS (to get the achievements for Kene) but I can bring one of my healers if needed.
Yep, last night was a hoot. Nothing I like better than wading Kalathan into a crowd of lower-level mobs, hitting my Divine Storm hotkey, and watching all the damage numbers float into the air.
And if they’re Undead (as most of them were last night), I can stun 'em with Holy Wrath first for even more paladin fun.
I think Yeti and I were in hog heaven the entire run.
To tell you the truth, I don’t think we needed any tanks or healers in BoMH. They were hitting me for less that 750 each and I can heal myself through that.
I did seriously consider switching Onikyoushi over to his enhancement spec. Healing Stream Totem seemed enough to keep everyone topped off. I cast a couple of Healing Surges on Blusmoke just because their smaller health pool made the damage more visible, but I don’t even think those were necessary.
If that’s the case, Kene’s Vampiric Emprace might be enough healing for everyone. Double, if Jarryn is there too.
(Or Vampiric Touch, I always get them mixed up, but the one that heals the party for 3% of your damage).
I wonder if tanking was necessary, I was just doing a rotation of my mass aggro-grabs, and letting the dps do the damage. I know I lost a few and especially in that middle part where we were running back and forth so much (and I dc’ed) that most people were able to tank for themselves (or was it the friendly mobs?) But I’m sure it’s easier to AoE when they are all attacking the tank.
It’s funny though. Shaman, Pallies, Priests and Druids can pseudo heal in non-healing spec. We’d just have to keep an eye out for the hunters and mages:)
Ghworg was the 6th if anyone couldn’t remember.
One more BDLer and I think we would’ve gotten the guild-raid achievement and the guild xp too.
Dammit! A wasted opportunity.
We had 8 of us last night, and we blew through 3 or 4 BC raids! We had hiccups on a couple bosses, but overall the cakewalk was a lot of fun. Kael’thas killed me :(, but we got him back! and Lady Vashj got plenty of stacks to make it competitive - something like +600% damage
Highlight for me was the bridge in Serpentshrine Cavern.
I’m really glad to get to see some of these older raids. And I’m really thankful we’ve got some guides to help us through these. (or at least people who know where the raid is!)
With 4.3 out today, should next monday be more of this, or should we try to get to the new 5 mans? (Or even try again at the 10 man Fireland raids?)
Oh sure, I take a night off and you almost have a full raid. Figures!
Grats on the achievements!
Well, I think it depends on our numbers, our levels and gear…if we have the same group like last night, I wouldn’t mind finishing the BC raids…The Black Temple and Sunwell Plateau.
If we have our core group of 85s that are geared well enough, then let’s take a crack at a new 5man or 2.
If we have 10 with 2 tanks and 2 healers and geared enough…Firelands.
As for last night…pretty enjoyable…now I know where to go to farm rep for those BC factions. I’m still wondering why only 2 of us got “The Lurker Above” achievement while the rest didn’t.
Yeah, last night was a blast. I agree with your assessment for next Mon; I’m enjoying seeing all the old raids, and would vote we do 5-mans only if we’re fielding full groups with no-one left out (some multiple of 5 online).
As far as the Lurker achievement, I think it’s only granted to whoever triggers the event; we just lucked out with a sync issue/race condition and got double credit for it. I’ll just have to go back after the lock expires (reset today, I think) and use a hunter’s most powerful weapon: Feign Death. Based on the trash I think most 85s should be able to solo to the ring and then get eaten by the Lurker.
Or just use a water walking potion after the 2 elevators. El’s Anglin explains all…you might not need to use anything else to prevent fall damage since you have 100k+ health.
