Well after a day, I’ve done one 5-man and 4 raid bosses and then 3 more raid bosses on raidfinder. (all on RB)
Raidfinder was kinda fun, since it seemed so easy. I’m going to run some 5 mans to get gear enough to enter the lfr (I think it’s 372 to qualify) on Moo.
As for Monday nights. I propose we get to a point where we can do the raidfinder as a group. It fits perfectly with our 6-9 person attendance. Pos/Neg for Monday nights: Less people using raidfinder because they’ve already looted each boss (nothing to gain), but if people are running their friends through it, they won’t be able to roll on loot so better chances for us!
But until we get to the minimum ilvl, we should try to upgrade our gear in 5mans.
Actually, there’s a couple more folks that need to be bumped up to 1.
Kalathan
Makig
Anshar

Hit me up if you guys see me online, I think a 1 can bring you up to 1…correct? Or is it only Proditio (Guild Master) that can do it?
Also, if someone can get Doggiebanker (an alt of mine that has older guild bank itmes) up to 2 (vaultmaster) soon…I sense that big changes on mats will be coming soon, and Doggiebanker is the older mats reserve bank. If anyone needs older mats, Doggiebanker might have something in storage.
I got them all up to Legionnaire, I couldn’t bring them up to Flamelord. I guess we need Proditio to help here. (Is it possible to make it so Flamelords can promote to Flamelord?)
I wasn’t able to LFR with Bird’s guild Friday night, as my gear level was only 356, but by Saturday night I was 373 and did it myself. Got a helm token, too, which I sorely needed although it’s very ugly.
Grats! I did 2/3 of the new 5mans on Moobird and got some gear for each spec, but I’m still too low for raidfinder. Does anyone know if it’s avg ilvl gear or equipped ilvl? Because of the 2 specs I’m much better geared overall than individually. (and maybe one piece away from being able to queue for raidfinder)
We’ll see who’s online tonight and figure out what to do. I’ll be there.
If we have only 5 tonight, we should definitely do the new 5-mans. They’re not that hard.
If we have >5 with high enough gear, we could do LFR. I tried it with Kene last night (his PVP gear is well over the minimum) but the group was pretty bad and only downed one more boss after I joined. The only downside to doing it on Monday is that you can only loot each boss once per week, so by the end of the week there will be a lot fewer people queuing for it.
What is the difference between the two values? I’d noticed that since the patch it listed two different gear item levels; is one the item level of your current equipment, and the other the item level of all your gear sets?
I did manage to qualify for the LFR with Bird’s guild on Friday night (in my DPS spec). Had an absolute blast - although my computer frame rate definitely dropped at several points during the fight. 25-mans make my machine whimper. Many of those fights take a l-o-n-g time though…I’m awfully surprised that healers and mages don’t go OOM.
I only died once - during the final fight, when 3-4 of us couldn’t run away from the ice walls fast enough. Didn’t feel too bad, since I had company.
I plan to be on tonight; although I woke up at 4:00 am and couldn’t get back to sleep. So if you hear snoring over Vent tonight, it’s probably me.
Wow lots of doggies last night. We started with 7 who wanted to do stuff so we split into 2 groups. I was in the 4-person group and we got a nice rogue who was looking for particular drops. Thankfully because I’m still gearing up. In the end I got enough to raise my ilvl to 373 (though less on my individual specs) So I can queue for raidfinder now. Not sure if I want to queue as tank or dps. Be easier to melt into the group as dps. But who knows if tanks will be in short supply in raidfinder after a week or two.
I had lots of fun especially since there were very few wipes. (Yay Blizzard and easy-mode!)
As a heads up, <KA> might be short 1 dps on Thursday night for their FL run. I’ll update as we get closer to Thursday.
Our group (me, Kalathan, Makig) was successful in Well of Eternity with a very high dps mage and a warrior. Unfortunately Keyne was already VP capped but I did get some useful boots from the quest turn-in. Not sure why I didn’t have that quest to turn in before; it wasn’t my first time there.
Not available on Thursday Bird but if you guys are doing LRF on Friday I’ll be available for pally heals or priestly dps. I wish I had thought to offer my priest last week :smack:. I’m hesitant to do the new random heroics on him because he’s in all PvP gear.
Oh, to update this; it only requires that your avg ilvl is 372, not your equipped ilvl. Individually my tank ilvl is 366 and my balance ilvl is 364, but together I have a avg ilvl of 373 so I can now queue for raidfinder. (Don’t think about that too hard or you’re head will hurt;) )
Now whether I’d be successful in DS at those numbers is pretty unlikely.
Just want to let you plate wearers know that my PvP plate that I can Blacksmith has been upgraded to ilvl 377. If you have a DK or Pally that you want to start PvPing with, this is an excellent time to start with this 8-item set. So let me know if you want a piece of the action, and we can hussle up some mats for it. I can probably get all the elementium bars you need (pyrium is not needed for these sets), but might need some help on the volatiles.
Skammer, if you want to consider Keyne as a possible PvPer, we can give that a go…it seems that we always had a hard time against a ret and holy paladin…we could be those guys too.
It’s pretty tempting, but I don’t expect to be playing WoW much for a while after SWTOR is released in less than two weeks, so it’s not really worth the expense in mats right now. If TOR is a bust and I come back to WoW I’d maybe give it a go.
For the first month I suppose. But after that I’ll have to decide which game to subscribe to and cancel my account on the other. I’ve already assured my wife I won’t play both.
Thanks to Prod/Shin Kell who set up tonight’s event on the calendar and sent out the mass invite.
It’d be fun to do LFR if we have enough folks who meet the gear level. If not we can practice the new 5-mans (as much as they require practice) to gear people up. We could always to an old raid, but that doesn’t have the advantage of helping people get geared for the new raids.
Hopefully it’s ok if I can bring my priest for dps - my pally is VP capped and already did LRF this week. If we need a healer for 5-mans maybe I’ll try bringing my shammy, but it might be pretty tricky for him if he’s even eligible to queue.
