I’m watching the Spengler Cup. Anybody gone to Future Shop to curb stomp their friends and loved ones for a smart TV?
Not yet - maybe later today. 
I saw a period and a half of the Spengler Cup today, in between romping around the malls with my kids. We visited 4 malls and a Best Buy store. I got up at 6:45 this morning, and am finally back home just now. I’ll sleep well tonight.
I just got back on line - my internet connection (and TV and phone) had been down since Sunday morning. Talk about going through withdrawal!

My heart aches for those in the 50K or so homes that are still without heat or hydro. In other words, there’s gotta be 100,000 people in the city (Toronto) who are suffering. It will be five days tomorrow. I don’t think I could handle it, that’s for sure.
Some new people added to the Order of Canada. (is “added” the correct word?)
Interestingly, the article I linked to says that “any person or group can nominate an individual for the Order.”
My God, that article proves once again that only the teachers-pets get recognized in Canada (how typical.) How come the Pam Andersons of the world never get the Order of Canada?
Anyone can nominate anyone… though I don’t actually know how they’re chosen.
I’ll try to make it this year as well.
I’m sitting back and recovering from our game group’s annual holiday three-day game fest. For some strange reason, playing games for 12 to 14 hours a day over along weekend while subsisting on fast food and Diet Coke is more tiring than it was 30 years ago!
I wish I could come to the Ottawa Dopefest, but it’s usually around the same time of year when I’m the most busy with my theatre group. I’ll see, though. 
FYI - Winterlude is January 31st – February 17th this year. We should plan something for Saturday, February 8, with an alternate inclement weather day of Saturday the 15th.
Unfortunately, I’ll be busiest those two Saturdays.
We went to the mall yesterday - the sales are still on, and they managed to suck way too much money out of us!
