The CanaDoper Café, 2013 edition.

Bad luck flying home from Kingston, six hour delay in the airport in Toronto, with the lightning compounded by Air Canada sending our flight crew on a different flight (better one flight of ticked off passengers instead of two).

But all was made up by the offer of free earphones :smack:

Lol. And of course, Rush’s YYZ should be used for airmail.

Holy God! The rest of you Calgary Dopers hear that? I’ve never in my life heard a clap of thunder that loud!

I’m sure I did. Crazy thunder tonight. My poor dog. :frowning:

Nothing too crazy loud here, just distant rumbling and off and on rain.

I was a little surprised by the tornado watch earlier. What is up with the weather lately?

It must have been over the north (my end of town) - it was FLASHBANG! and the whole house shook.

Starting to hear thunder here now.

I’m getting tired of severe thunderstorms. It’s one thing to have rain every so often; it’s another to have high winds, lightning, thunder, rain, and hail once or twice a week. This year, we’ve had too few of the former, and too much of the latter.

Wow!

The silence of the night was just broken by an incredibly load pack of, what I assume, were coyotes. I’ve never heard anything like it. They sounded really, really close, as in at one of my neighbour’s houses up the street. I’d say there must have been a dozen or so and they howled and yelped for a good minute before stopping completely.

That was very unnerving. I’ve lived in this house for 18 years and never heard them this loud or close. I wonder what they were getting into? Hopefully just a deer. That was kinda scary.

With any luck they’re after one of the exploding number of wild turkeys around here.

Leaffan, do you live near the city centre?

No. Rural west end.

If anyone is visiting Casa Loma in Toronto, get the poutine! Rosemary and mushroom gravy combine to make it a delight. Eating out the balcony with the sun shining down and an ice cold beer just add to the good times.

Well, I just became Saskatoon’s newest homeowner.

The homeowner in me congratulates you!

The patrician Ontarian in me pities you. :stuck_out_tongue:

Cool! What neighbourhood, if you don’t mind my asking?

My parents lived on Athabasca Crescent in River Heights for 21 years…

Congrats Gorsnak.

Congratulations!

How do you feel about… floods?

Congratulations, Gorsnak! So, tell us more - two storey? Bungalow? Townhouse? Mansion overlooking the river?

You’re now eligible to be appointed to the Senate!

It’s an old bungalow in Caswell Hill. For it to be flooded would require most of the city to be under water.
