the completely hijackable MMP

I read that as Penis Colony!

I’m home today, because I’m a slacker. I woke up with a headache and made the executive decision to call in sick. I feel better now! :stuck_out_tongue:

I think I’ll make Chicken Marsala for dinner.

**
Why thank you!!!**

I has a chicken pot pie all assembled, minus crust, for dindin. The crust is a simple Bisquick[sup]TM[/sup] mix and will get put on just before bakin’ time. Yeah a bizkit mix. Sue me. So There! :stuck_out_tongue:

Good morning and happy Thursday all - one more day to go this week!

Happy Bicentennial to Mexico! Now, I’d always thought (rather quietly I might add LOL) that May 5 was Mexican Independence Day - so what the heck is it?!

Hopefully, comcast internet will be out to my house sometime in the next few hours. Cross appendages for me please that they’re able to find & fix the problem w/my cable internet connection! It keeps dropping the connection. :frowning: It does make it hard to type, though!

Dunno what we’re having for dinner tonight; for lunch, I’ve got some krab Louie salad from the Safeway deli (it’s pretty good, believe it or not, for imitation krab lol) and lettuce, and a fresh preach.

Halleluja?

HAHAHAHAHA!

Thanks, I needed a chuckle.

LOL! Naturally, I meant a fresh PEACH! And it was a sweet one too, very tasty. Damn cataracts!

According to my daughter, Comcast replaced the modem and also fixed the connection outside at the box. Hopefully, it won’t get dropped any more. ::knocks on wood three times::

Yay! Well, at least I gave BBBBobbio and Sticky both a good laugh today.

Finally, a day that’s going by somewhat quickly!

This morning I slept in a little, and was up and dressed by 8:30. I ate some cereal, and watched last night’s The Daily Show and The Colbert Report. At 9:30, FedEx rang my doorbell with the official layoff notice from my current job…good thing I already have a contingent offer from somewhere else (though I’ll be just a little nervous until the offer becomes final).

The handymen came at 9:45, and started replacing the deadbolt on the back door. It took two hours, but there’s finally a functioning lock in place. There is no key for it – I’m not entirely sure how/why – but it’s a thumb lock from inside and that’s really all I need. They also helped me replace three lighbulbs in fixtures that I couldn’t unscrew/couldn’t reach. I kind of can’t wait for sundown now, because I’ll finally have lights in both of the halls and in the stairs again! No more needing to leave the bedroom light on!

At 10:00 my property manager arrived. He hadn’t seen the house since I moved in last summer, and he wanted to see the changes I’m proposing to the back yard. He kept telling me that they love having me as a tenant, and that most renters don’t care about how the house looks. He asked about my long-term rental plans, and I was honest with him: if I can move to DC in May I will, but otherwise I’ll stay put.

I finally left the house and went through the Chick-Fil-A drive-through on my way to the office, and got here with just enough time to eat and answer some emails before heading into a 1:00 meeting. I went immediately from the meeting to escorting duty (the regular janitor was out today; her backup needs to be escorted around our space), and just finished that about an hour ago. Phew!

Now I’m hoping that the next 90 minutes (until I can leave work) go by quickly, because there’s a chance my new Kindle will be delivered today. Fingers crossed that there’s an Amazon box on my porch when I get home!

And me, too!

Chicken pot pie is in the oven and smellin’ yummerific! Can’t wait to eat it! It’s huge and will be dindin tonight and tomorrow night. Since it has veggies and chikin I figure it to be an all in one meal. Plus there’s a crust so that counts as bread. Does to count!

Home at last. I ran by the grocery after work and got a nice poke loin and a nice chickie for feedin’ the inlaws. I also got some salad fixin’s and broccoli for us tonight. I’ve started making my shopping list for tomorrow - it’s gonna be $$$. I suppose I could just feed them PB&J, but that would be mean.

I had to close the house up - it got to 80 in here. But it’s clouding over right now and rain is predicted, so we shall see when I can open things up again.

My dr appt went well. My BP is good and since I drank water before going, drawing blood went well also. I’ve got chits for tit-squishin’ and butt-reamin’ - I lurves these oldster procedures… I was also talking to her about seeing a dermatologist about the various colored spots on my arms. I need to be reassured that it’s just old lady skin and not melanoma. She didn’t think there was anything to worry about. I’ll feel better having a skin doc tell me I’m fine.

So that’s my Firday-on-Thursday. Yay. Tuna steaks are marinating in teriyaki for supper. Wonder if I should do rice or N.O.T. for sides?

Hey, do we have a recipe for German N.O.T. salad in the blog? I want to try to make some, I think. I suppose I could just go look…

The parents of some friends of KT’s are moving to the Cities next month. So the friends will come up to visit more. That’ll be good because we haven’t really made good couple friends here, and we don’t have any long-term friends here yet. So it’ll be nice to have “easy” friends come visit regularly… you know, the kind you don’t have to try to impress, you don’t have to work to make small talk. They’ll be here around Christmas, too, which will be nice because we don’t have family coming and we don’t have plans to go anywhere for xmas. So yay for that!

I’ll second or third the thanks for the reminders on why we don’t have and won’t be getting a dog! Ick!

I still feel congested and yucky. Bleh. I want to take tomorrow off. But there’s a team “fun” event. I hate team “fun” events. But my manager knows that and I don’t want her to think I’m taking tomorrow off just to avoid the “fun” event. So I don’t know what I’m going to do.

And just what ensues there? :dubious:

I make a good chicken pot pie. Just sayin’.

I also mowed the front yahd. I’m not worried about the back cause it looks ok but the front was gettin’ to be a shame for the neighbors to see. We can’t have that now can we!

Anyhwo I am all showered now and relaxated. I want a munchie. I shouldn’t but I want!

Hello everyone! I just thought I would just pop in and say HI! Maybe I’m back and will be able to check on this more. Lots of crap/good stuff going on with me. Glad to see that I still recognize some people in here.

mcune!!!

I’m supposed to be getting ready for Faire. Don’t wanna, but I definitely don’t want to do it tomorrow.

Made some awesome miso eggplant tonight. I had thirds and I don’t like eggplant.

Nifty thing: You know how all computer stuff seems to be in those impenetrable plastic packages? The usb hub I bought has a tear-tab on the back so you can get it out without breaking out the scissors, knives, and bandages! Nifty!

Up, caffeinated, off to irk.

Up, caffeinating, ready for work. Clothed.

Let me share a story I heard on the news this morning! Apparently, some DC fire personnel & EMS had a retirement party at one of the stations back in July, during which several firefighters (male) prepared food while un-clothed. They were off-duty, but it’s still against the regs, of course. They even showed pics (with the ahem inappropriate areas blacked out! It looked to me like whoever they showed was just a tad on the hefty side, btw (not that I can talk, mind you!). So BBBobbio, do -not- accept any invitation to cook in the nude at any retirement party for DC-area firefighters/EMS! Yes, they’re in trouble because someone reported it …

And -finally- it IS FIRDAY - Yay!! I’ma dancing around like Kermit-the-Frog!!! Happy Friday all!

Hi, McUne!

5 minutes till Quit O’Clock, too!

My hair is reminding me of why I don’t like having it short. The hairdressers insist in making less layers than I want, and it’s already reached that stage of “long enough to be a bother, too short to pull it back”. BLAGH!
