The coughing, sniffling, sneezing MMP

Up, showered, dressed, breakfasted, caffeinating. I’m feeling better than I have in some days, tho snot production is in high gear. Roxy went back to sleep - daughter thinks she was cold - and I’ll start to wake her in another half hour or so. She should be good for the program at the museum as well as a quick stop at Aldi on the way home.

Mid-20s this morning. I guess winter has decided to pop in. Alas…

Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. Off to watch hockey practice.

Blücher.

Happy Thorsday!

It was a nippy 18 feels like 12 degrees at the park this morning. My toes got cold, even with toe warmers. Supposed to get up to 37 today, but at least the sun is shining and the roads are clear. The alley is still a bit icy, as was the sidewalk at the dog park. For whatever reason, all the walkways get cleared except for the the little hill that leads from the parking lot down to the dog park.
I let both pups off leash from the truck to the gate, I didn’t need Echo pulling me through the ice. Ripple is pretty good, full speed ahead is Echo’s motto.

She whined the whole way to the park and kept smacking me to go faster. Traffic was slow this morning, because of the sun. I stopped at a red light but the pickup next to me probably couldn;t see that the light had changed and almost ran it. Lucky for the pedestrian in the crosswalk that he didn’t.

I bought some cheaper ($12) sunglasses to keep in the truck for the days I forget my good pair. They are better than nothing, but not by much.

Have fun at the marine museum FCM.

Hope hubby is doing well today Butters.

Morning all. Woke up with a runny nose and sneezes, just so I can fit in with the group (but otherwsie feeling OK). Garbage can has been transported to the curb and two big bowls of Cocoa Krispies have been consumed, so all is well.

Butters, hope your drive is easy and hubby’s operation is the same.

nellie, good luck to your son, I know what it is like to live with someone with constant pain, it’s not good for them or their loved ones. Maybe his Drs. advice can help Sunny too.

FCM, enjoy the museum.

All y’all take care.

Made it back to the horsepistol around 930. It was nice to get a full 6 hours of sleep. Hubby was given Xanax last night and boy howdy- he is still high as a kite this morning. He is not used to taking any thing like that. We are in the Cardiac Care Unit and they are taking him back now. This is usually a fast procedure. I have a hunch they may keep him overnight because he’s been so puny.

Back. I thought the program they had was a bit ambitious for 18 month-3 y/o kids. Roxy spent much of the time hugging other kids and patting them on the head. Thankfully, she was gentle. She did enjoy looking at the fish, and she called the jellyfish “balloons.” In all, we spent about an hour there.

After a quick stop at Aldi, I brought her home, changed her diaper, and gave her a bottle, since she’d had several crackers in the car. She went down right away for a nap, but only lasted about half an hour. Now she’s downstairs hanging with her papa - he’s off work today. So I’ve got the afternoon off.

I need to haul the vacuum cleaner out to the shop and use the compressed air to blow all the crud out of it. Then I can vacuum with max suction. Yes, I have an exciting life.

And just that quickly he is back to normal rhythm. Doc doesn’t think it will hold though. They are keeping him overnight. I will stay until he is fully awake and not so loopy.

Yanno, Butters, this aging crap ain’t for the weak. I don’t envy you the drive, either. But good thoughts that your sweetie is all better soon!

And my application for SS has been approved. Checks start the 4th Weds of this month. YAY!!

Cleaned out the big desk in my office room, found stuff there I had completely forgotten about (personal CD player I don’t remember buying) and got it sorted. Just about cleaned out the new flooring area, but may have to start moving stuff into the garage and park the car outside, running out of room to put it in.

Clear and 60F here. Rain due to start Firday, however and continue through the weekend.

ETA: Good for you, Moooommm!! Don’t spend it in one place, now…

When I sent an email to the acting director telling him I was going to be out of work until Moanday he sent me back this:

Sorry to hear about your husband. You can also use your sick leave to “care for a family member”. Just check the block on the leave slip. And don’t worry about ITT. You definitely have trained them right. I should be so lucky to have that kind of coverage everywhere else.

Now this guy is the biggest asshole ever. I do think that was a compliment though.

Good mornin’ all.

I am okay with the moonunit designation. As long as Frank Zappa’s daughter doesn’t mind. She had the name first.

Big day today.

First, an appointment with the special doc. Hoping for a solution.

Tonight is the cultural event of the year. Well, for me anyway. Live music! A cello and a guitar. Great venue. Fifty seat maximum. So, it will be up close and personal. Kinda pricey for this kid. But it is a fund raiser for the library. I love me live music and the cello.

Kiko, my doggie has a wound on his toe. We been walking too much. Not deep, but he can’t take his tongue away from it. Will buy a kids sock for it. Apply some antibiotic and duck tape the sock on. Else he will lick off the antibiotic.

{{Butters 'n Hubby}} and {{other [del]sickos[/del]sickies}}

Irked today. Skool starts up tomorrow. I am not enjoying getting up in the dark again, though irk was… interesting today. Interesting and dilemma-ridden talks about future career options happened. Hmmm…

ITS FRIDAY! Well, for me at least. We had a late truck of 5k packages and had to do a crash sort after our regular sort — and the management “B Team” was on duty. Actually everything went quite well until the end part where we move the stuff to the doors. Seems as how no-one had thought of that part. As a result much dragging racks back and forth across the building ensued. Heck – pay was the same so no biggie off my nose. And it will give us something to talk about in the breakroom come Monday.

Hmph. Feeling disgruntled. Having spent many hours on the phone again, I have insurance agreeing to count the eye specialist I’m to see later this month as in-network. Yay. I should be gruntled, right? Except today I find out this guy is a specialist in inherited retinal disorders. As I’ve said, I have a complicated eye history with numerous surgeries and ongoing conditions like glaucoma. Docs can’t figure out why I can’t see better, though, except that all the now-minor issues together may be the culprit. So the specialists are sending me to this specialist.

If I had a genetic eye disease, I’m pretty sure I’d have an Ol’ Blind Aunt Sally or a Grampa Magoo on the family tree. On the other hand, one condition, keratoconus, can be inherited and my sibling also has it, indicating genetics, but again, nobody else.

Anyway, I’m fresh out of gruntles.

Moooom, congrats on getting the official Soc. Sec. okey-dokey.

Moon Unit, fingers crossed you get a solution.

{{{Butters and Hubs}}}

I think that was intended as a compliment Butters.

Another day of not getting much done.

My son had his first test, I napped through it. He was a bit flustered taking it as he opened it as soon as he woke up to see the instructions. This professor is a bit… well his first assignment was due on Dec 23 for a class that didn’t start until Jan 2. A lot of the due dates are messed up so my son wanted to see if the test really was today. Usually when they open a test they get instructions and there is a start button to start the test. Not this time, as soon as he opened it the clock started. He wasn’t even fully awake yet. Three and a half hour test and he used every bit of the time. However, what little bit I heard him mumbling, it seemed like most of the test was stuff that anybody would know.

Glad your hubby is started down the road to recovery butters.

I hope that Kiko’s paw heals soon moon unit.

Irked, came home for a long weekend. I have a dermatologist appointment tomorrow and the friend that I take to the retinopathist has an appointment Monday, so I’m off until Tuesday.

The boss and grand boss had a tete a tete with the old bat and I today (she was out yesterday). Threats of having to irk over if the queue wasn’t cleared soon and admonitions to irk from the oldest to the newest. Not a problem for me, as that is how I tend to work it, but the old bat tends to go through and cherry pick the easy ones (she still manages to do fewer than I do, but her new schedule leaves less unsupervised time to wander off). We’ll see what happens. :stuck_out_tongue:

I am a Virgo and can’t irk on anything except in its natural order. I have a set order to do things and any deviation puts me out of sorts.

I made the drive and am home almost two hours. Emptied the pot under the kitchen sink that the the maid discovered has a leak. Walked hellion. Fed the kitty. Listened to the horror stories (CNN). So sad about that plane. Still need to check the mail since I forgot to do that yesterday. Need food and there isn’t much here so bacon and eggs it will be. Later. Been playing fetch and chase. Yesterday as I was organizing my purse and putting the cash in order and faced properly little hellion snatched it and ran off leaving a trail of one dollar bills. Today it was a paper towel that I had blown my nose on. He got the zoomies and now I know his breed is a hybrid greyhound/ goat.

There is no place like home. Almost Firday. Hope all the sickies are on the mend. Thanks for holding my virtual hand through this.

They don’t want the liability of having customers climb ladders to retrieve the dish. Someone slipping and getting injured would cost them far more than a satellite dish is worth.

I’d prefer a Tesla S.

Snuffly and sneezy here. Blah.
