The coughing, sniffling, sneezing MMP

Not that Roxy watches a lot of Sesame Street (yeah, right) but tonight, she and her daddy were doing the Count’s laugh and daughter caught it on video. Hilarious!!

Well, back to Jeopardy, then off to bed I’s tahred.

I want a bugotti veyron.

I put small pieces of chocolate on vanilla wafers and microwaved them for 60 seconds. They were pretty neat.
I microwaved a Hershey’s Special Dark ™ on a macadamia and white chocolate cookie for 60 seconds.
Did you know that macadamia nuts burst into flame at about 90 [sup]0[/sup]F?

I was already hungry, now I want chocolate.

My husband does, too.

Speaking of, I don’t know whether to be more annoyed or alarmed right about now. He’s really slacking off on the physical therapy homework and claiming to be weak and unwell a lot. Sheesh, I’m going to irk short on sleep, half-sick, and achy a lot of the time. His motivation level seems to be dropping.

Right now, I’m so tired I’m queasy, too tired/achy to get off the couch and eat, and debating what will stay put. I’m thinking vanilla yogurt. When I can bother to get up and get it.

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 57 Amurrkin out and cloudy with a predicted high of 77 and cloudy for the day. Looks like we may have a rainy weekend. Or not. I shall take care of some duties over to the church house this mornin’. OYKW is goin’ with me and we’ll go grab some N.O.L. on the way back to da cave. Sup shall be majik intartoobz pizza just cause.

Butters glad the surgery went well and hopefully hubs will get to come home today.

Everyone else, I read but retained little, so yays, boos, hugs, gropes, trouts, chitlins, and how you doin’s all around as needed.

Now I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then, alas and bother, I suppose I should purtify and don appropriate bein’ about the public attire.

Happy Firday Y’all!

Happy Firday!

It’s a still dark 36 degrees outside, which feels a whole lot better than yesterday’s 18.
Supposed to be raining and in the mid 60s tomorrow, and clear and warm on Sunday, which is house cleaning party day.
I’ve decided I’m going even if the others can’t make it.
I can’t keep rearranging things, well I can, but I don’t like to as it throws everything off.
I’m a Taurus, not a Virgo, but like Butters, I like to do things in a certain order and in a certain way. The holidays are over, time to get everything back to normal (or what counts as normal) around here.

I have a whole mess of stuff to do today since I have been a bit slothful lately. I’m trying to get some energy back.

{{{Nettie}}} hope you feel better soon, and at least hubby has good taste in cars.

Hope your hubby gets to come home today Butters.

I think I’ve survived the plague, but I’m caught in a stoopit sleep(less) cycle. The last few nights, I’d wake every hour or so - not for long, but long enough to look at the clock to see if it was time to get up. It wasn’t. So I’m feeling pretty raggedy. Dammit.

**FCD **just left for a pre-meeting meeting. People asked why my post-retirement jobs were as a drafter rather than an engineer - stoopit meetings is largely why. My sweetie is doing projects for the Navy, and I know he’s not kidding when he tells me they have meetings to plan the next meeting, and post-meetings to discuss the meeting they just had. It’s inane and self-perpetuating. Glad I’m not dealing with it.

Other than wrangling Roxy, today’s plan is laundry. If the weather permits, I may take her to the playground for a bit. Beyond that, I just hope to stay awake.

Happy Firday, all!

Home from the park. It was cold, but now the sun is shining and it’s supposed to get up to 55 today.
The park used to wear out the little brats, now it seems to energize them.

Debating what to make for dinner. I’m hungry but nothing sounds good.

Moooommmm, I always remember the old saying that meetings “are where the minutes are kept and the hours are lost”. Hope FCD makes it through.

Sari, glad sah-son completed his test–a little garden-variety panic is good for the system now and then…

I don’t do things in order, folks; I do it when the mood hits me (or when the deadline approaches).

flytrap, so you roasted your nuts?

gotti, they put mine on a ground unit, even dug the hole and concreted it. But still glad I don’t have to return it, if I ever dump DirectTV.

Butters, sound like hellion is a good name; and like you, I have to organize my money, smallest to largest and all the heads facing up.

60F outside, but rain today, tonight and tomorrow. The really nasty stuff is supposed to be in South Ali-bama, but you never know… Need to take all the electronic stuff I found yesterday to Best Buy and see what they can recycle and maybe make a stop or two on the way back. Meals are still to be determined.

All y’all take care.

Last year, January was quite mild. I was glad we’d ‘made it through Winter’ without snow. Then February came and it snowed. And snowed. This morning there is a little snow on the ground, and there is snow in the forecast for the next week. Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday the low temperatures are forecast to be 17º, 11º, 12º, and 20º. Other lows will be in the 30s, with a couple of days in the 20s. Brrr. We’ll be burning a bit of propane and wood. :frowning:

One of the MGB batteries is bad, and I have the charger on them. Dual 6-volt batteries are expensive. I need to convert it to a single 12v. They seem to last longer in the cold. I’ll have to remember to drive the Jeep every couple/few days.

The cold I’ve had since Monday afternoon seems to have transition mostly from the runny or congested nose to a bit of coughing. I think that means it’s getting near the end. I know I was hungry yesterday. I had a 2-egg cheese omelette mid-morning, and for dinner I had some leftover Sauerkraut and kielbasa and two slices of medium pizza.

Roxy just went down to nap. Second load is in the washer. The dishwasher is just about finished its cycle. Pretty productive morning, I say.

metal mouse, when I handled cash more, my bills were sorted the same way. I blame one of my high school jobs where running a cash register was part of the deal. One just didn’t put the bills in the drawer without turning them the “right” way without bringing on the wrath of Miss Lucille. :stuck_out_tongue:

butters, I’m a fan of routine too.

Fixing to head out to the dermatologist in a couple of minutes for the twice yearly skin check. After that, I’m going shopping for a new kitchen table and chairs. It’s either that or regluing the chairs on the current set. Given that the table is a bit too large for my kitchen, I’m going for a new, smaller set. I think I found what I want after googling 36" table w/ 2 chairs within 50 miles last night.

That makes sense, 12v uses half the current of 6v batteries.
I am curious, are the batteries in the same location? If they are just two 6v batteries in series, I don’t see a problem replacing them with a 12v battery.

Example.

ETA: That’s under the ‘back seat’/parcel shelf.

.

And after the disappointment over the Bahamas cruise deal, I just booked us on a New England/Canada cruise in Sept. We’ve already done this one, but this was an excellent deal and I liked that area, so off we go again. And this time it should be a bit warmer - last time, we went at the end of October - brrrrrrr.

Second load in the dryer. I heard Roxy but she quieted down again, so I’m hoping she dozed back off. She really needs a good 2 hours to be rested. So we shall see. SIL is up - he’ll be leaving for work soon. **FCD **should come in soon for lunch. Such hustle and bustle!!!

Hola all and good Freeday!

Thanks for all your good wishes.

Out the door to see the real doc. And Kiko, who is the king of the neighborhood, notices a dog passing by that didn’t ask for permission. Kiko prefers to negotiate but it didn’t work. He came back with a wound below his right eye. Doesn’t require stitches. I put on some human antibiotic cream. I hope that works. Do dogs have the same bacterias as us?

Off to the real doc. Here we have doctors for three dollars. Good to get a prescription but nothing else. The real doc charges about $25 dollars, which is still cheap. He put me on an antibiotic that the labs didn’t test for. But, has given me the squirts. (I know-TMI).
Took some psyllium, which also cures the runny nose.

Last night concert had a talented classical trained cellist. But the fusion with a maya rhythm group failed. Maybe her classical training interfered with the improvision necessary for the fusion?

Gonna crawl back into my hammock.

Again thank you for all your best wishes.

**moonunit **- as one who has watched many episodes of Dr. Pol, I can safely say that people antibiotic cream is often recommended for critter wounds. I could also tell you more than you want to know about cows with prolapsed uteruses, but I’ll leave that to your imagination!

It’s overcast and chilly out, so I doubt that I’ll take Roxy to play at the playground. But I will take her to her Mama’s school and pass her off so I can shop alone in peace! If Daughter wants to take her to the playground, it’s up to her.

Meanwhile, I think I’ll make some lunch.

Did my morning shopping, got a few more boxes, two file storage containers, and dropped of the old electronics at Best Buy for recycling (they took everything, which surprised me a bit, some of that stuff was old). A bit rainy outside and due to get worse, so I think I’ll stay in the house the rest of the day. Got the ‘junk’ people coming on the 20th, so next weekend will be hectic as I try to empty out most of my house.

moonunit, Kiko needs to pick his fights more carefully. Glad he’s ok.

Mooommm, sounds like a good cruise. Visiting Halifax or St. John? (I was there this year)

Red, good luck with the table; I’m donating my kitchenette set and chairs but haven’t bought anything to replace it yet. Where are you looking? And my brother called last night, they had stopped in Nashville on the way from St. Louis to Ft. Lauderdale for a cruise. The cruise doesn’t leave until Sunday so they’re leaving themselves plenty of time, and I’m good with that, as they don’t drive long distances much anymore.

I did something I don’t usually do on First Saturdays; I slept in until almost 8:30am. I’m actually quite proud of myself for that - my norm is to still wake up by at least 5:30am even without the alarm. I think I’m finally adjust to the time change. Put some stuff for sale on eBay and bid on a few other things and now I’m just kicking back and relaxing a little. Tonight is a motorcycle club meeting and despite the rain I may use a bike. Probably not — but its nice to have the option.
