Thank you all for your good wishes on our anniversary.
Happy Sunday!
It’s a dreary 63 degrees outside.
We spent 3 and a half hours at the park this morning, from 6 until 9:30. You’d think the dogs would be tired.
Ha! Not Echo.
Lily had to leave around 8 so I was going to leave with her, but then we found out Jax was on way. Lily stayed long enough to see Jax, but I stayed until Jax was ready to leave.
Only then it started pouring down rain, so we stayed (with a different Lily) until the rain stopped.
I wish I had dressed more warmly, at least I had long sleeves. I would have been freezing in a t-shirt. Not so much the cold but it was damp and breezy.
Came home and my son heated up some leftover pizza for me. I didn’t even ask.
Slept through most of my morning irk shift as irk was slow this morning.
I’ve got all the stuff packed up that I need to take to the armpit tomorrow. We’ll go to the park, then head out to get there around noon. I hope to be out of there by 5 or 6, although traffic shouldn’t be a problem, I think.
Hurray for pain pills for FCD.
If a hospital is going to discharge patients on the sabbath, then all areas of the hospital should be opened on the sabbath.
Happy Anniversary Hippie.
You do know that they are ‘pet’ rabbits MetalMouse? lol
I forget what kind they are though.
Years ago I had a friend that bred rabbits so I learned a few of the breeds and how to tell them apart.
I should do a load of laundry today.
So, you don’t have enough to share?
dammit.
Thank goodness for pain meds when needed.
I finally made that pot of beef stew yesterday and it hit the spot. Of course, there are leftovers so no cooking today.
Hubs is off with a friend early tomorrow for an MRI. I think he has a Teladoc appt on Wed to find out the results. Next step is too scary but it is a biopsy of his heart still looking to rule out the disease the doc is looking for. I don’t think he has it but what do I know? It is Amiloydosis. There are several kinds but if he has the one that affects the heart his prognosis is not good. Six months without treatment. We are already three months or more into this. The thinking is that poisoning shouldn’t have happened unless something else was going on. Part of me thinks it’s a money getting thing. All I know is I am sick from worry. Sometimes I think all this will kill me first from stress.
My plan was to go to irk tomorrow to do online training but I may put that off until Tuesday and take buddy Back to the Vet, drugged and muzzled,on Wed and then try to irk Thursday and Firday. We shall see.
I already have a recall notice on my new car. It’s just a software upgrade but damn. 2020 has sucked mightily thus far.
Happy what’s left of Sunday.
yeah i thought 08,11 and 16 sucked but this is year is taking the cake …my aunt said she knew this year was going to be rough cause on news year eve she was peripherally involved in a brawl at Denny’s and directly involved in one at the watering hole
not at the same time… the fight at the bar was about 3 weeks before the shutdown…
Ran out for groceries. No chicken, but plenty of maskless people.
No waffle House?
HAPPY HIPPIVERSARY!!!
Puh-raise JEEzus, I got on here! I gave up yesterday. Not much new here. The other day I decided to splurge and buy steak before prices spike even higher, so that’ll be dinner tonight, along with garlic bread and salad. I’ll feel like a queen!
FCM, that sounds like a night in hell. I’m so sorry for you and FCD. I bet tonight will be one long snooze fest.
Hippie, I love that photo of you and sunflower! That’s a snazzy tux, and you are BEAMING. Sunflower is lovely.
OW, I’ve been wondering where you were. Dealing with this COVID shutdown stuff while grieving must be tough. I bet somewhere Rubles is chuckling over all those keys. HE probably forgot what most of them went to. And I love the chicken names, especially Eleanor Roostervelt. Ha!
Shady, wow! Your aunt is quite the colorful character! I bet she throws a mean punch.
Johnny, I sometimes add a bit of cayenne when I make spiced coffee. It works.
Mooooooom, yay for the good drugs!
{{{butters}}} I hope things begin to get better for you, hubs and Buddy soon.
I finished the organizing project in the studio today and am now ready to begin a new project. I took the stuff to Goodwill this afternoon, but, given it was sprinkling, the carwash was closed. I’ll swing by Wednesday if nothing is falling from the sky. Nelson got to meet another neighbor puppy this morning. She’s a three month old lab/pit bull mix named Olive and sweet as can be.
Time for KP now.
Stay healthy y’all!
Tomorrow I will be working my third week since being off the job because of the lockdowns. The catering business that would now be operating the cafe where I have been for so long got a government business loan and has to emplpy their full time employees to get it. So I’ve been working at the catering site, and it seems I’ll be staying there. For whatever reason the baker they had out there has not come back to work, and they need me. So I’m getting a raise. I don’t know when the cafe and library will reopen, or just how the cafe will be run there, but I suspect I’ll be sending stuff over there from where I’ll be now. I worked a LOT of hours last week, but they had such big box lunch orders for local businesses that there was not a problem with overtime.
Howdy Y’all! We deheatenated intartoobz style, had a hyuuuuuuuuge Sunday N.O.L., and spent some quality time at the cee-mint pond. All in all not a bad day. The biiiiiiiiiig trash can has been hauled all the way down to the road for pickup tomorrow. 'Tis rainy out and promises to be tonight and tomorrow. No problem as we have no where we have to be. Retired life. AHHHHHHH!!!
HAPPY HIPPIEVERSARY!!!
Snazzy tux Hippie. I think I wore it to my high school senior prom.
MOOOOOOM yay for FCD’s pain meds. May tonight be a sleepy one.
Shades a bar fight and then a fight at Denny’s sounds like a typical Sattidy night.
Butters here’s hopin’ they’re on the right path to find out what is wrong with Hubs.
OK, gonna go snoop teh intartoobz for a bit and then plannin’ an earlyish beddy bye time.
Nitey Nite Y’all!
missred, some of us would love to admire Olive.
Winco run today. As always, disinfectant cleaning supplies are hopeless once the store’s been open any length of time. Meat and produce well stocked, low supplies of flour and sugar but decent stock of box mixes, pasta looked reasonable. Most aisles I looked at seemed pretty normal, even with a full store of shoppers. Didn’t really check paper goods, but I noticed last time I was at Walmart (about Thursday-ish) that paper goods are coming back strong there. Didn’t check bread.
I did much of nothing today.
I have a lot to do and I don’t know how I did nothing. All I know is it went from 3:00 to 7:00 and I couldn’t tell you a thing I did other than feed the cat.
I only remembered to feed the cat (the outdoor bowl of wet food) because I saw Antlers out back when she took off running as I was letting the dogs out.
Adam would never let us forget to feed him in the inside bowl.
The woman across the street was parking in front of my house and we talked a bit. Kind of weird to have somebody ask if it was okay to come near me. She didn’t want to shout so the other neighbors could hear.
The reason there has been so little parking on my side of the street is that the house two doors up from her is a drug house. I don’t sit out front enough to see what goes on, but I had noticed… weird things about that house. All of the people going in and out look like junkies, and they almost never use the front door. I don’t use my front door, but I park out back. They park out front, but walk around the house to use the back door.
However, like I said, I’m not out front enough to really notice what goes on, but she said all day long it is traffic in and out of the house. One day she and her young daughter were out front, her daughter was drawing with chalk on the sidewalk in front of her house, and the people in the drug house came out and started yelling at her that her daughter needed to stop drawing on the sidewalk and she needs to stay indoors. WTF?
Drawing with chalk on the sidewalk is a big thing around here, something for the kids to do. As is putting teddy bears in the window. To tell somebody their daughter can’t draw on the sidewalk or that you need to go back into your house??? Yeah, okay.
I asked her if the neighbors on the other side of her had moved (the big mouthed buffoon and screeching banshee), and she said no, they are still there. I said that’s too bad. I think she is friends with them, so she’ll probably tell them what I said, but I don’t care if she does. I’m not the only person in the neighborhood who doesn’t like them and wishes they would move. Or at least just lower their voices and stop screaming at their kids all day.
Yay for the OT baker!
nettie, we met Olive on our morning outing, when I was in my PJs with no pockets for a phone, otherwise I would have taken a pic of the little cutie.
Kicked off a small project in the studio. Now it’s time to surf and cuddle a dog.
I’m in a funk this evening. But a neat dog show is on. I like to watch these things.
I want one of each! Please! Lifted my mood a bit.
I didn’t get my walk this afternoon. Too rainy.
I really, really need to sleep tonight.
I’m gonna try.
Where do you walk?
I used to walk around the five acres when I lived in the woods. Walk around the creek, look for crawdads and fish.
Late night edition. Did some mopping and picture hanging today, then watched The Last Dance finale and most of the recent Jurassic World movie. Will head off to bed shortly.
Have read all but with so little time I won’t respond except to say happiness to all and to all a good night.
Catch you on the next MMP.
