For some reason I have it in my head that today is Sunday.
It’s a cloudy, 45 supposed to get up to 59 degrees outside.
No playdate today, Lily’s mom has to irk. Although she said if it’s okay she might start coming over in the afternoons when she gets off irk.
That irks for me. Anything to wear their littles asses out is a good thing.
Ripple is bringing me everything he can think of and dropping it on my foot so he can get a treat. He’s gotten a bit chunky since we haven’t been going to the park so I have been trying to limit treats.
Echo has picked up his habit of carrying things around, so I have one slipper upstairs and one downstairs.
I think your husband sounds like fun Vow.
Dot, when I lived in the city, the girlfriend of the guy who lived across the street used to park in front of MY house, and they would have sex in the car. Very embarassing when people would ask if they were friends of mine. Of course not, if they were friends I would have locked them in my back bedroom and told them they couldn’t come out until they were ready to behave themselves. They couldn’t have sex in his house because he was living with another woman.
Anyway, what I always wanted to do was get a bunch of us together, make up rating cards like they do in the Olympics, so when they finally sat up they could see how we rated their performance.
Finally got rid of them, but that is another story.
Don’t tell me I can’t park in front of my own house.
Good thoughts towards you and FCD, FCM.
From the smell outside, some farmer is spreading manure today.
I won’t be irking outside anyway, it’s supposed to rain, and it’s chilly out.
Just finished doing some stuff on my mom’s tablet, including setting up her music app. I need to write down specific instructions because she’s most definitely not tech savvy…
It was in the upper 20s here this morning, on the way to mid-50s. The sun is finally coming out, so after lunch, I’ll go out and dig up the plants I want and I’ll plant the iris I brought. She already cut my hair - I think half my hair is gone now! But it’s a cut that’ll last.
And that’s all the excitement here. So far. Trying not to fret.
It’s still in my head that today is Sunday, so imagine my surprise when I got a call from my doctor.
I have an appointment in the armpit next week, but it will be a telehealth visit, so I don’t have to drive down there.
Which is nice since I hate driving down there. I’m already going Moonday, for our birthdays and my mother has some papers she needs my son to sign. Of course I would have just switched that visit to Wednesday, as there is no way I am driving to the armpit twice in one week.
The sun is out, so maybe I will get some stuff done outside today.
Boofae, I may be wrong on this, but I heard the clown’d actually given up it’s US citizenship a few years back, thus limiting our ability to palm him off on anyone else.
Checked on the beeses today again; the forecast said it was gonna be really cold, it lied. It was fractionally cooler than it has been, which is actually rather nice when checking bees, 'cos it’s really warm being fully kitted out. I’m planning on trying to split the colony into 2 next time to curtail any swarming. Only problem is most of the techniques for doing this involve finding the queen, and, though I’m normally good at playing the giant moving spot-the-difference game that is queen spotting, this queen is apparently a national hide-and-seek champion and I’ve yet to see her even once.
Thanks for all the good suggestions re BuddyBoy. I have had him since he was a little over three months but I don’t know, what happened to him in his first three months. He is usually fine only with me and hubby. He dislikes other people. I really think it is more fear driven than pure meanness. When I took him to the Vet before I was able to slip a muzzle on him with no trouble but we were inside the vets office, I was holding him while standing and his dad wasn’t there. I think the first mistake yesterday was taking dad. Due to the virus we couldn’t go inside.
I will never give up on him though. He has had some obedience training before he came to live with us. He knows commands. He is not a bad dog just uh, different. We have taught him to leave the cat alone finally.
I am so ready for all this virus foolishness to be over. Hubby has an MRI scheduled in Miami and I am under orders from irk not to leave the county for any reason. I guess I could get permission but would have to ROM ( restriction of movement) for 14 days afterward. He will get a friend to go with him. Truthfully he is not supposed to leave the county either as my dependent but whatever.
Mooooooom, good wishes for a great outcome. You are wise to keep busy.
My shoulders and neck are sore. I gardened a little too much yesterday. I got my tomatoes thru our cold snap. I lost only one plant. I think one of the grand-wreks stepped on it.
Y’all have a good day!
Where the heck is our resident Jawja bear?? He didn’t submit a note to be absent today…
Still cold and windy here. I may not do any digging till tomorrow. My mom keeps the house at 65… I had to borrow a sweater.
Found out earlier today a former neighbor who I used to babysit died this morning of the plague. He was living outside the country in a place with less than stellar hospitals. He was 56… DAMNED plague.
Howdy all. Car has been tagged for another year. The license office is open but they are being very careful; you get a handful of disinfectant when you enter, only every 4 seats are available, and you have to wear a mask to gain entry. But the task is done. Got home to find the Internet/Phone bill in the mail, so I’ll probably make another trip out shortly to mail it.
Sari, I know what you mean, last week I was wondering about calling my brother on his birthday…it was Tuesday and his B-day was Saturday…I call them beaver days, cause it’s the same dam thing every day.
And I’ll look forward to your story on getting rid of the amorous neighbor sometime later.
Nut, good luck in your queen hunting.
FCM, he hasn’t posted since 5am yesterday. Not worried but…
FCM, He hasn’t posted since about 5am yesterday. Not that I’m worried but…
And sorry to hear about your friend. One thing I am glad about is that I’m probably about as well-covered regarding medical facilities as anywhere in Ali-bama. Heck, there are 5-6 counties that don’t have any hospitals.
Minor miracle… PWAISDN just got a pile, and I mean a pile of letters from the unemployment folks. We had to send them copies of birth certificate and a utility bill as he was not in their systems at all, having never had a job where he got a paycheck in the past 35 years. Going over there at lunch to sort out why he got what appears to be seven copies of the same letter, and to activate the prepaid ATM card.
As I mentioned, that title is not available on Amazon. Perhaps it’s out of print or something. I can’t find it on our library website, either. There are a number of books that are based on the Magdalene laundries, but most are novels. This one appears to be researched, but only has three reviews. One horrifying aspect of these places is that the last one didn’t go out of business until 1996.
Have you heard anything from FCD Moooooom? I’m sorry about your friend.
metal mouse, like you, I’m in the best area in Tennessee for hospitals. Given that the state didn’t accept Medicaid expansion, we’ve been hemorrhaging rural hospitals and there are places that you can be two hours down a winding mountain road away from one.
I’m a little worried about swampy too.
Irked, came home, walked Nelson and et supper. After KP, it will be chill in the studio.
Just got off the phone with the neurosurgeon. The surgery went well and FCD was responding to commands and such. They’re going to do a CAT scan tonight, and he’ll stay in the ICU overnight and be moved to a room tomorrow. By Friday, I should know what happens next.
So tomorrow morning, I will dig up some hostas, and after lunch, head home. Meanwhile, I’m exhausted and freezing. Here’s hoping for some good sleep tonight.
