The day-after-mothers-day MMP

Sounds great, FCM. How long are they going to keep him in hospital? Or will he be transferred to a therapy/recovery center?

Outside of that, nothing much going on, nappage this afternoon after mailing the bills, then internettin’ in the evening.

Everybody take care.

MetalMouse - they will make the decision about what’s next later this week. Just gotta wait till then.

It let me in. Sloth Day today. Although somebody needed to go out at 0Dark30, and somebody hornked somewhere after that. So I took an afternoon nap. And thanks for the tip, Dot

At least it wasn’t The world’s Deadliest Joke:smiley:

Good management is knowing when to disappear and let the minions take it.

Butters, I would have thought the cat would have taught BuddyBoy to leave him alone.

Hopefully da bear is OK. Gordie would miss his Intertube skritches.

Yay on FCD being out of surgery! May all go well in his recovery.

Whew, great news on the surgery, Moooom! Would this be the first time FCD has responded to commands?

doggo, it sounds like it’s been a hard night’s day.

Swampy, come hooooooome!

Mooooom, great news. Get some rest.
**Swampy **, I miss you. :frowning:

Post got et.

Hospital called about CT scan. I answered their question then asked that they not call till morning unless it was an emergency.

Time to sleep with Mel.

This time the Mel that popped into my head was Mel Blanc: Th-th-th-th-that’s all, folks!

Morning, mumpers! I am worried about our swampy too, it’s unlike him to miss the chance to give us a weather update. I hope he’s ok.

Glad to hear the surgery went well, mooooom, hopefully FCD will be home again soon.

nuts, you are most probably right about Pfeffel giving up his US citizenship, probably did that before he got thrown out! I honestly don’t care enough to bother looking it up either, such is my lack of interest in the Minister for Buffoonery. More importantly, did you find the Queen?

Nothing exciting happening in my world, may venture out to the supermarket today, might not.

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 54 Amurrkin out and clear with a predicted high of 87 and mostly N.O.S. Thanks for missin’ me yestiddy. Moanday afternoon I started not feelin’ well. Felt queasy and had just a little bit of fever. I ended up goin’ to bed around three and pretty much stayin’ there most of yestiddy. Even missed a Zoom Vestry meetin’ Moanday evenin’. Anywho, whatever it was, I feel a lot better this mornin’. Not great, mind you, but a lot better. It shall be a day of loungin’ around. On the upside my appetite is back. Yestiddy I managed a cup of mandarin orange slices, two pieces of cheese toast, and ginger ale. Now I want real food, so there’s that.

MOOOOOOM yay for FCD’s successful surgery! Let this be the one that finally frees him from pain.

Everyone else, I read, but retention is still not good, so yays, boos, hugs, noogies, trouts, chitlins, smooches, and how you doin’s all around as needed.

Now I need more caffeine and rumbly tummy wants real sustenance. Then, well, we’ll see what the day holds. Rah.

Happy Hump Day Y’all!

Moooom

Great news! I know this has been hard to deal with.

No middle-of-the-night call, so I will assume that the scan was fine. I asked them to call after 7, but I’m showered and dressed and breakfasting. And looking at a thermometer outside that registering 26 FREEKIN’ DEGREES!!! No telling when I can get out there to dig.

My mom cut my hair and it’s lots shorter than I’d hoped, but that way It’ll last.

Thus beginneth my day. Happy Wednesday!!! And welcome back, swampster!!

Happy Hump Day!

It’s 43 degrees here, and the sun is shining. Supposed to get up to 66.
I forsee some yard irk.

My son has one last assignment, the Jazz paper, and he is done. He has As in his other three classes, and should get an A in Jazz.
He still has to do the damn exit interview for the loans he doesn’t have.

I’m glad you are back and feeling better Swampy.
Happy news on FCD, I know you’ll be very happy when he comes home, Mooooommmmm.

I need to call one of my aunts today and thank her. I got a birthday card from her yesterday, kind of strange as I have never gotten one from her before.
But I appreciate it.

Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. No far no hornking.

Glad you’re back, swampy.

Glad to see you alive (if not wholly well), swampy. Take it easy and let the body get better.

Sari, kid should be graduating Manga (or Summa) Cum Laude, if they still do that stuff. My congrats to him (and his proofreader).

FCM, take care of yourself the next few days, FCD will be fine…you need to be, too.

Heading to the mid-70’s today, but it rained most of the morning and we’re not supposed to see the Big Glowing Ball anytime today. Nothing on the schedule to go out for, so outside of picking up the newspaper (done) and checking the mail, should be a homebody again.

And a good Hump Day to all.

swampthing, we are so very happy to you back with your “forecastin’ and stuff.” Sorry you were under the weather.

Having a fever is a tidbit of news that scares people these days! If you are coughing, having chest pains, or find it hard to breathe, don’t be a big, tough bear and try to overcome it with you wily masculine strength.

Go to the ER!

Last day at NewLifeInMichiganJob v 1.0 today, after a gloriously productive day off yesterday. I had this big to-do list and I … added to it all day, because it’s actually a “don’t forget about x” list. But I crossed a couple of things off, too, and got into serious Get Shit Done mode by mid afternoon. (I do not hit the ground running. Or run, ever, really. Matter of fact, if you do see me running … you probably should, too.)

Among other things, I swapped the landlord’s showerhead for one that’s supposed to up the ante as far as water pressure. I’m about to get nekkid and find out!

I got super anxious about the task, too, convinced myself I was about to bork my shower entirely and have to take a whore’s bath every day for the rest of my lllllliiiiife and sat through YouTube videos demo’ing the process while literally pulling out my hair, and finally steeled (okay, vodka’d) together the courage … only to find out this was the fastest, easiest thing imaginable.

Stupid anxiety. Whatever. I am very damn proud of myself. I have successfully achieved a plumbing task!

Also, my closet & kitchen are finally less chaotic, and I roasted a chicken last night that shall be soup-ified tonight after Last Day At Job day. I hope nobody’s passive-aggressive at me about it.

Onward into the day! Dammit, no. First, onward into the shower! Then, onward into pants! THEN onward into the day!

Feeling very superior this morning. I placed a grocery order last night, and in a moment of weakness added two Heath Bars to it. My system no longer appreciates heavy doses of sugar, and lets me know its displeasure by rejecting things like candy with extreme prejudice. But damn, I loves me some toffee. Anyway, first thing this morning I removed the candy from the shopping order. Now I’m sulking a bit, but I know I’ll be better for exercising some control.

Stupid diabetes. . .::kicks can::

Hmmmm…everybody but me must be doing something constructive today…ah well, to break the posting slump…

Nothing much has happened this morning, did solve all 3 Sudoku’s in the paper this morning, so at least some of my brain cells are functional. Finished off a Big Bowl O’Cheerio’s earlier and that should hold me until dinnertime.

Cookie, I refuse to buy Potato Chips, Cookies, and French Fries for the house because I have no control of myself when they are readily available. But I did but a couple bags of Cheese Balls recently, and after that…eating spree…they also go on the list.

shoe, my congrats on the plumbing fix; my skills are paltry when it comes to plumbing chores, hope the shower was nice.

So today is Whenday? Overcast and chilly - looks and feels like fall, not May. Our weather is confused - last Friday, it was stinking hot. I’ve learned that when the Mexican guys complain, it’s HOT.

Got rice in the rice cooker now, chicken katsu for lunch. It was a bit funny a week or two ago when PWAISDN called looking for directions on how to make rice. I had to go look it up as with my cooker it’s just toss in one or two scoops of rice, then fill the pot with water to the 1 or 2 line, close the lid, press start and ignore it for about 45 minutes while the “micom fuzzy logic” does its thing. He had different rice and a pan on the stove. :smack:

Yeast is still either not in stores, or available at gouging prices online, so I’m trying to grow a sourdough starter. It’s a bit unnerving to realize how much yeast is just floating around in the air to populate a starter - miracle we’re not all walking around with constant yeast infections.
